Is Adrien really that much of an incompetent hero?

Kind of?

The weird thing is the show gives him moments where he can actually pull off all the stops (points to Kuro Neko with Cat Walker, the Puppeteer 2 fight scenes, SnakeNoir in Miracle Queen). But then most of his time as Chat Noir involves him clowning around, too busy trying to get Ladybug's attention and moping if he doesn't have it. So you're stuck with this odd mashed up idea that Adrien CAN pull off the superheroics, he just doesn't want to and you have to force him to do so.

It's difficult to properly gauge Adrien's competency at being a hero because it's at the whims of the writers if they want him to be a clown and goofy and do something stupid or if they want him to be good at being a hero. Most of the time the writers lean into the former, so he comes off as sucking at being a hero most of the time.

There's a lot of ways to mitigate this inconsistency in Adrien's capabilities, like having him intentionally be bad and over-reliant on LB at the start (hence why I'm more inclined to give him a bit of a pass in getting controlled by an akuma in s1) but slowly make a name for himself with his own learned prowess. But that's not the reality we see: Adrien is still making dumb decisions when it comes to being Chat Noir 5 seasons in (and based off that spoiler gloob released, will continue to do so). That's too long for him to finally catch a hint to change himself, he's been handed opportunity after opportunity to improve, and the fact that it's going to take him going to the absolute extreme (killing someone although he technically did that in NY special and the fact that him and LB have their backs against the wall with all the miraculous out of their hands) to finally reflect on things makes him look like a tool in the grand scheme of things.

Miraculous Ladybug theory (12/5/21)

I think Marc or Nathaniel will get the Rooster miraculous in “Psychomedian,” and Ivan will get the Ox miraculous in “Penalteam.”

If you look at the Gloob spoiler picture, there are two new characters on the right.

“Qilin” will be about Marinette’s family, and “Kuro Neko” will likely be about Adrien and the introduction of Cat Walker.  

“Kuro Neko” has to have Kagami in it because she and her mother are the only Japanese people on the show.  (Kuro Neko is Japanese for “black cat”). 

There is a leaked image showing that Chloe will be the akumatized villain in “Penalteam,” and if you look at her outfit, it has a soccer ball (in Europe it would be called a foot ball) on the front, meaning the episode is sports related.  Ivan probably plays a sport because he is the stereotypical large strong guy.

That leaves “Psychomedian” as the Rooster miraculous episode, which means it’s likely Marc or Nathaniel has a connection to the villain.

MIRACULOUS LADYBUG SPOILERS ⚠⚠

these are all from gloob's new spoiler video. the episode will be coming out on january 24th 2022 (i'm not sure what episode but i think it's for kuro neko)

no way adrien gave his miraculous to felix and ladybug is just... okay with it? from this frame, she doesn't seem confused or mad at all.

it'd be cool if it was chat noir with a power up, but knowing how a certain writer loves to mistreat him, i doubt it.

Orrrrrr chat noir's identity was revealed but instead of renouncing the miraculous, he changed the costume like what rena furtive did.

maybe it's a hack-san situation but i don't think adrien trusts felix enough to entrust him his miraculous especially after that whole "felix pretending to be adrien and getting his friends akumatized" thing

the most likely outcome, however, is that he gave the miraculous to someone else after a charade of emotions (since he's seen taking off his ring in the teaser) and that someone else is most likely felix because who else has a carbon copy of his face?

ladybug?? detransforming in adrien's bathroom?? while crying??

im guessing that she heard something about lila and adrien or maybe it was her reaction to chat noir being replaced

what i predict here is that she's hugging adrien maybe for a camera or to show off to marinette (it looks like we're looking at her through glass). either that or she's hugging felix who's dressed up as adrien and she suspects something.

or maybe adrien said something that she didn't like. like something about marinette or her lies or not liking her maybe

i love coq courage and minotaurox as much as the next person, but you can't deny it when i say these costumes are not it. i feel like minotaurox would look so much better with a bald cap, and coq courage... oh boy

i think it's a bit more clearer that he's nathaniel. considering that marc's body is more door-like while nath has broader shoulders and a smaller waist, coq courage is most likely nathaniel (the terrible hair says it all) (EDIT 2: nope nevermind)

thing is, coq courage looks nothing like how he does in his silhouette? it's weird and i couldn't find a reason for it unless nathaniel and marc exchange miraculouses or something idk

A little theory for the end of the season…

With the misunderstanding and the miscommunication in ladynoir dynamic, a lot of fans fears a Chat blanc 2 episode and it could totally happen… But not the way we think.

Spoilers alert if you didn’t see the Gloob spoiler add for the finale of the season!

What happen exactly in Chat blanc? The reveal between ladynoir and Hawkmoth’s one toward Adrien.

What gonna happen at the end of the season? The defeat of Hawkmoth. Well he was defeated in a way in Chat blanc but nobody won so…

About the ladynoir conflit: Adrien is bottling his emotions again because he is in denial (just like toward his father’s behaviour toward him by trying to minimise his actions and excusing his abuse for being overprotective). His childhood also made him flee from conflicts instead of fight, another reason he didn’t confront Ladybug about her choices or more exactly her misinformation. We saw in NY special Adrien uses a lot of coping mechanisms and self preservation strategies learnt from his father to Ladybug while she doesn’t treat him the same way. Marinette is also in denial somehow because of Chat blanc. She thinks by not putting responsability on Chat’s shoulders, she’s protecting him because those responsabilities hurt her in this season. The reason she went for Alya instead of Chat in Gang of secrets. She is also overwhelmed by her new role as a guardian, meaning more lies to tell her family, etc. Actually she is just dealing crisis after crisis with a lot of stress and short term vision. Things are complicated because Hawkmoth knows the identity of few of the temporary holders and she knows it’s risky. And if she mess up once, Su Han will come back to take the mother box from her, meaning loosing her memory. So she isn’t taking the big picture to realise she has to tell her partner about the choices she made to avoid failure.

When she said “I’ll never abandon you”, she means it. She love her partner, she wants him to be happy and she is protective of him. She isn’t aware her behaviour seems like it to Chat’s POV but she doesn’t do it on purpose or actually make a conscious choice to abandon him. She would be devastated if Chat noir quits, maybe will be akumatise because of it.

She wasn't in this episode but she did go back to the mindset she had in Gang of secret. So it did affect her badly. So maybe she will be akumatise because of her kitty being hurt and she will view the situation as she failed him (again).

We’ll see Scarabella again, Hack-San might be her introduction to justify her appearance later for the big angst: Maribug akumatisation teasing in season 3. (I think Marinette will be akumatised in her civilian form and that's how Chat noir and Hawkmoth will learn Ladybug's secret identity) Plus in universe Scarabella is already known by Chat and has some experience in this costume. So they could work as a team to save their dearest friend. And from our pov, Scarabella won't come from nowhere as we already saw her in a previous episode. She would meet Luka who would tell her Chat’s identity so she could give his Miraculous back and save Ladybug.

This part is more a wish than a theory but I would want to see Ladybug going berserk when she learnt who are Hawkmoth and Chat noir and shout "how dare you hurt my kitty?!" and Chat being behind her, big kitten eyes "you care about me? é.è and she is so badass :3" Well I want to see Ladybug being really protective of her kitty on screen TT.TT Maybe seing Marinette being akumatised for him and learning she is Ladybug, connecting the dots between everything he learnt this season, finally understands her choice and maybe learning at the end he's Buttercup. The reveal would be so soft!
