Singer/Songwriter's Stage at Rock Bend Folk Festival
Tumblr media
This photo was taken on September 11th, 2021 at Rock Bend Folk Festival in St. Peter, MN. Rock Bend Folk Festival is one of my favorite weekends of the year, it brings together mostly local musicians, although sometimes there are musicians from out of state as well. Although is it called a folk festival, there are more genres represented than just folk, including one of my favorites, blues musician Erik Koskinen. The festival has a singer/songwriters stage, which I would compare to BBC's The Songwriters Circle, where musicians get together and share stories and songs. The 2021 stage consisted of Erik Koskinen (accompanied by Paul Bergen), Becky Kapell, and Pat Donahue. Anyone in the midwest area who is a fan of music should mark the Rock Bend Folk Festival on their calendar every year, it's always a lot of fun.

Becky Kapell introducing new single: “I Don’t Know.”
November 2020 - Becky Kapell is a talented singer and songwriter base in Minnesota. She actually started playing when she was 42 years old. On a whim, she decided to pick up her sons guitar and suddenly, she found very natural to learn her very first cords and eventually, come up with her own songs. Recently, the artist released a brand new studio single titled "I Don't Know". This wonderful song is also featured on her most recent album, "In It to Win It".
What makes her music stand out is definitely the fact that her songs come from the heart. Becky has an incredibly relatable voice and her music combines World class production aesthetics with honest lyrics that are immediate and easy to relate to, for people of all walks of life who care to listen. At the end of the day, the beauty of genuine music is hard to beat. This place is highly recommended if you are a fan of artists like Lucinda Williams, Gillian Welch, and many others.
Find out more about Becky Kapell, I do not miss out on "I Don't Know", as well as the other songs on the exciting "In It to Win It" album.

Article - Becky Kapell Has That Certain Ache
Article – Becky Kapell Has That Certain Ache
Becky Kapell released her first CD in 2012, but that was in Portland so I’m not going to count it because I think Minnesota has had a strong musical impact on her, and she on it! And she’s really just in her first chapter of Minnesota music – can’t wait to see what happens next.
Kapell spent her formative years (20’s) in Portland but moved back to Minnesota in 1996 to raise a family and work…
