Well, better late than never, right? I had planned to post my favorite albums of 2022 about a week ago, a little before Christmas in fact, but the busyness of the holiday season kept me busy. So, I will be posting my top albums of the past year today, I will try to post my top EP's of 2022 tomorrow, and hopefully post my favorite songs of 2022 in the next few days as well. I listened to 284 albums this year, and have narrowed it down to these 20 as my favorites.

Being a fan of Will Wood and Ghost is so funny cause rats is somehow a very important part of both bands.

Like Copia does, in fact, love rats. I’m sure he’d love the athstetic of “In Case I Make It.”

#mine #like yes i get it theyre boring straight people booo but hear me out .#the fact chica is goldens main motivation for joining the animatronics triggering his whole arc?#the fact chia is the beakon of what golden wants? a good person who will love hil wothout asking anything in return?#and their first meeting perfectly encamsulates that? when golden is feeling miserable and as lonely as ever and she comes in out of nowhere #and does a nice act for him without getting anything in return?#and he follows her wherever she leads after that because he truly believes no one else would love him like that?#and the way he loves her strange quirks that have pushed people away bc his loyalty to her is unshakable?#and it just adds to her being different from all the people who have claimed to love him but ended up using him?#and how she sees golden not sjowing up for practice as a betrayal because she trusted him and at the end of the day #it was chica who created the band and hisbloyalty to her should also be to the band? so him flaking on the band is flaking on her?#and the way neither of them want to show their weak moments? the way they never speak of what haunts them? and that is effectively what #makes their relationship fall apart? even thougj they lobe wach othee deeply? because they simoly cant be vulnerable and honest?#because they dont want to be weak in front of the othee?#can anyone hear me #im going insane #ive been planning an analyisis of goldica but i havent gotten around to rewatching the series to make it #and its driving me crazy i think #fnafhs

i wish i could articulate the experience of seeing a band you're into live like actually seeing them in person because its so strange yet fascinating

#every time i hear take me for a ride by sparks it makes me think of the nyc show - the first show of theirs i saw #bc that was their walk on music. and i was front row for that show #and like. it was so surreal. so strange. obviously in a good way but its just something id never experienced before #and i noticed this especially with russell in that i had a weird thought that went 'oh wow thats him. he realls looks like himself'#and like of course he looks like himself but what i meant by that was he looks like that guy who ive seen 5 billion images of. hes that guy #like not only does he look like the him in more recent pictures but seeing him in person like 10 feet away #its like i could recognize every era of him. i could see like 70s russell in his face. bc of course thats his face! but still #is this making any sense.#like i feel like if you met 70s russell once and never saw him again until now youd immediately recognize him #and sure thats because of two other things - one that he has distinct facial features kinda and also that hes aged so well #but it was again so surreal to be like. in the same space. right in front of. fairly close to. that guy whos been in my phone. you know?#this was true for ron and the other guys in the band too of course its that feeling of wow its them! those people ive only seen pictures of!#and again being front row for that was bonkers insane. its like what do you mean these people are real #but the thing w russell i just especially noticed almost immediately when they came out onstage like hes that guy. for real #is this making any sense . anyway i just had to finally get this one out #the only downside of this experience was that yes these people are real and yes they can see me. a little anxiety inducing #its like nooooo dont look at meeeee im such a weirdo i bought a ticket to see you like everyone else here #anyway. concert thoughts

so when i was a teen i was like, very alt, very punk, like eyeball-deep in the local music scene (this would continue for the next decade), i was NOT a scholar by any stretch and quite frankly hated academics. and my friend introduced me to this band and it ended up being one of my favorites for years.

well i was talking to my friend who's into a bad that was big back in that day and i was like ahhh yes.... i remember those days.... neon and crust and studded leather.... and i listed off some bands, and remembered that one i had liked for so long. i went and looked it up and spotted the album i remembered the most, and gave it a listen and well

it would seem ive always been this way. apparently

#the older i get the more i realize that my life has been this strange paradoxical orobouros of self #one day i decided i would stop moulding myself to other's likings bc dulling my edges only helped those ppl hurt me #thus re-embracing a part of myself i'd learned to be ashamed of. and it was incredibly liberating #and then i realized it was my destiny to be a mortician #and i was sooooooooo afraid to tell ppl bc i was sure they'd be weirded out #but every person i told was like OHHHHH ok yes that makes complete sense. that's perfect #and the more i thought about it the more i was astonished it had taken me so long to figure that out lol #and realizing that i really am by nature a scientist has been really liberating too. i hate that my class bracket prevented me from #discovering that bc i was working all the time for a decade and had no time to explore myself or my interests or anything #and i honestly always thought i was stupid.... because of other people lol #and once i let go of other people's treatment of me as the lens through which i view myself #i realized #oh.... i'm a scary and smart little freak. huh #and i started living true-to-myself and it's been super fun and rewarding and ive never been happier #but like... i kept thinking. wow who could have ever seen this coming! this must seem like such a stark turn for the outside eye #like now that i finally recognize myself... others probably dont #and then i revisited this band and went #ah #no #im just oblivious #ive literally always been like that. even when i didn't know what it was or what it was like. just completely blind to a destiny that is no #SO crystal clear that it's changed how i see the world and myself and the way i live #crazy

#art #traditional art #watercolour #oc art #ocs #oc group: unsorted #oc: unnamed #i think i started naming them but i probably wasnt feeling their names cause i dont remember them so if i ever use em again i'll rename the #ive always got such a problem with naming ocs. i dont know how to name ocs anything like a normal human name #and all my strange names (lia's friend sci (pronounced sai) short for science fiction) are like #i cant just do it on demand. i dont think of those names they just happen #i need to figure out a more effecient way of naming ocs #ANYWAY these ocs were like some kinda psychological horror thing about a trio boyband who's leader (white hair guy no1) dies tragically lik #a decade ago and the surviving members (the twins) cope poorly in their own ways #(shitty beard twin falls into a nihilistic depression and the beardless one kind of just becomes quietly obsessed with the deceased)#and they dont really talk anymore (shittybeard wants to be left alone) but for the bands upcoming anniversary their old manager wants them #to do like a reunion tour and specifically he brings in an impersonator who looks uncomfortably like their dead leader frozen in time #to take his place for the reunion. the shitty beard twin wants nothing to do with any of this but the freaky impersonator kind of like #draws him in so he sticks around for a bit. if just to figure out whats the deal with this guy #someday itd be fun to play with these ocs again maybe
