There’s something to be said about how Margot was introduced as Ben’s love interest and then got the opportunity to evolve past that and into Devi’s friend, and how Aneesa was introduced as her own character and became Devi’s friend, only to devolve into a single step up from a background character when she was no longer a love interest for the main characters. A rant for another day perhaps.

A large strength of the Benvi ship is that even when they’re mad at each other and even when they’re hurt by each other they’ll always care about and respect each other in a way no one else does. They would have to or else they wouldn’t be reaching the lows in their relationship that they do. If they didn’t care they wouldn’t be as hurt by it; they would be able to move on more easily.
