I want to get plants again, I鈥檝e got some shelves for them and a list of plants I might get but I鈥檇 appreciate any suggestions for low light and easy to keep plants (bonus if they鈥檙e non-toxic but that isn鈥檛 necessary)

The three plants in the middle have definitely taken. When I flick at or try to lift the mother-leaf their roots resist me.
The one without sufficient chlorophyll in its outer leaves has gotten a tad too much sun on them, but the green inner leaves seem unaffected so I'm not too concerned.
I think perhaps the smaller plants on the outside of the smaller leaf might also take soon. They do appear to be growing in leaf size and developing nascent roots.
The ones on the dried dead mother leaf have not grown any but neither have they died. I am considering removing them from the dead leaf and placing them directly on the soil to see if they'll take.
I have been keeping the soil constantly wet; you definitely don't want to do this with larger older succulents but it helps the babies establish roots. And too, lavender scallops require more water than their hardier succulent brethren. When I cover up my plants for winter this year I will put the scallops closer to the front and more accessible. I lost some this year not to cold but to dehydration; unlike other succulents, once the stems become hard and woody they will not rehydrate. So I must factor this into my plant plans for this winter.

Peaceful living room with a variety of聽houseplants, including a snake plant, a peace lily, and a spider plant.
In today's busy world, it's easy to overlook the simple things that make our lives better. One of these things is plants. We often think of plants as just decoration, but they actually have many benefits for our health and well-being.In this blog post, we will discuss why plants are important to grow at home, using easy-to-understand language and helpful images.
1. Why Grow Plants at Home?
Tumblr media
Plants are essential for many reasons. They clean the air, reduce stress, improve mood, and boost creativity. They can also help us feel more connected to nature.
1. Clean the Air: Your Home's Natural Air Purifiers

Plants are nature's air purifiers. They remove harmful chemicals and toxins from the air, such as formaldehyde, benzene, and trichloroethylene. These chemicals can cause respiratory problems, headaches, and other health issues.
Imagine your home as a big room filled with air. When you open a window, fresh air comes in and old air goes out. This process is called ventilation. Plants do something similar, but they also remove harmful chemicals from the air.2. Reduce Stress: Your Home's Natural Calming Agents

Being around plants can help reduce stress. The color green is known to have a calming effect on the brain. Plants also release oxygen into the air, which can help us to feel more relaxed and alert.
Think of plants as little stress relievers in your home. They're like having a mini spa right there in your living room or bedroom.
3. Improve Mood: Your Home's Natural Mood Boosters

Plants can also improve our mood. Studies have shown that interacting with plants can lower levels of anxiety and depression. Plants can also help to boost creativity and productivity.
Imagine coming home from a long day at work and being greeted by a beautiful blooming plant. It's like getting a little hug from nature.
4. Boost Creativity: Your Home's Natural Spark Ignitors

Plants can help us to feel more connected to nature. This can boost our creativity and productivity. Studies have shown that people who work in offices with plants are more creative and productive than those who work in offices without plants.
Imagine having a plant on your desk at work. As you're working, you can take a quick break to look at the plant and let your mind wander. This can help you come up with new ideas.
2. How to Choose Plants for Your Home:
When choosing plants for your home, it is important to consider the following factors:
Light:聽How much light does your home get? Some plants need a lot of light, while others can do well in low light conditions.
Imagine your home as a big house with different rooms. Some rooms have big windows that let in a lot of light, while others have smaller windows or no windows at all. Choose plants that will thrive in the lighting conditions of your home.
2. Water:聽How much time do you have to water your plants? Some plants need to be watered more often than others.
Imagine your home as a busy schedule with lots of things to do. Choose plants that don't need to be watered too often, so you don't have to worry about them when you're busy.
3. Temperature:聽What is the temperature of your home? Some plants need warm temperatures, while others can do well in cooler temperatures.
Imagine your home as a place with different climates. Your living room might be warm and cozy, while your basement might be cool and damp. Choose plants that can handle the temperature conditions of your home.
3. How to Care for Your Plants:
Once you have chosen your plants, it is important to care for them properly. This will help them to thrive and live long, healthy lives.
1. Watering:聽Water your plants regularly, but don't overwater them. The amount of water your plants need will vary depending on the type of plant, the size of the pot, and the time of year.
Imagine your plants as little friends who need your help. Just like you need water to stay healthy, plants need water to stay healthy too. But don't give them too much water, or they might get sick.
2.聽Fertilizing:聽Fertilize聽your plants regularly during the growing season.
Additional Tips:
Start small. If you are new to growing plants, start with a few easy-to-care-for plants.
Do your research. Before you buy a plant, research its care requirements. This will help you to avoid any surprises down the road.
Enjoy the process. Caring for plants can be a rewarding experience. Enjoy the process of watching your plants grow and thrive.

Controversial opinion - the bedroom is the most important space in your home.
And we fully stand by that.
As digitalization engulfs our everyday habits, the overarching need for good quality sleep is more apparent than ever. In fact, good sleep leads to good thoughts, a better mood, and the best immune system you can get for free.
So, it鈥檚 vital to create an environment that caters to rest and relaxation that鈥檚 also the junction of beautiful and functional design and provides temporary refuge from life鈥檚 stressors.
But how do you do that?
