I have a very important question for the kpop girlies: when the idol has the last name 최, do you read as Chwe or Choi?

I was thinking about that because I learned that the double vowel ㅚ reads as we but a lot of people read as oi since it’s the junction between the vowels ㅗ (o) and ㅣ(I).

Also because for example Vernon, Jongho and Minho all have the same last name (written the same way) but Vernon is the only one that uses Chwe.
