way back when I first started at uni a neighbour asked what I was going to be studying, and when I told him 'textile design' he said 'ah, putting pretty flowers onto fabric.' . *cue tumbleweed* . needless to say I've not touched a floral from that day to this. But have you ever seen one of Mackintosh's botanical watercolours? It's like a biology lesson punch to the retina- blow your socks off stuff. This is the first time I've ever created a pure floral design.
