Hello everyone, this will be the main post for Remnant: 21 & Before the Incident. I've decided to make a more concise summary of the following stories that take place in the same universe. Your support is appreciated!

You and your best friend haven’t talked to each other in a while after losing your parents. Until one day, your friend reaches out to you about Starford Festival. Celebrate the festival with your best friend and reminisce about your past together! Tradition says when you light sparklers while watching the late-night fireworks, a great change will come to your life! Enjoy a slice-of-life-filled prologue!

This story takes place around 1.5 years before the main events of Remnant: Twenty-One. You never knew demons existed until now. Join the Organization and take arms to enact a battle against the Apostles, a secret society that wishes to open the Gates of Hell. Manifest your powers based on the prologue. Will you get your revenge or will you fall before you can achieve it?

You’re taken to a mysterious room and greeted by two strangers. They tell you that your life is no longer, but you aren’t necessarily dead. You cross through a door on the other side of the room and enter a world similar to your own. Except, there’s the existence of demons, Devils, and other supernatural entities. Not only that, you’re trapped in the body of the Chosen One, the hero who will save humanity. The issue is there’s no time for training or preparing, the final battle is in five days!

Fight against Caph and the four Enforcers. One Enforcer for each day which will test the potential of your main character. Meet new/‘old’ teammates that will aid you in the final battle. Maybe even find some love with them? There might be a more sinister force out there than the Devils. Survive to the best of your abilities in this new world. Good luck out there, Remnant Twenty-One.

Apollo/Anna [M/F]

Your best friend you haven’t spoken to in a year. Celebrate the Starford Festival with them and recall the memories you had together in high school and college. Perhaps you can find love at the festival as well?

Syo [M]

An odd man with an eye patch. He has a casual attitude to most things and has a lax personality. However, it seems as if he knows a lot more than he actually leads on. Have you seen him in another story?

Tenth [F]

A stoic woman with strong convictions. She’s quite serious most of the time. She gives Syo a hard time for his laziness. She wants what’s best for people and wishes for them to reach their full potential, although her methods can be quite unhealthy. She's also a hopeless romantic.

Abel/Belle [M/F]

This person has a wild heart and a passionate personality. They can be quite too much for people and they’re intense all around. Abrasive and rude. Could there be more layers to this individual?

???? [M/F]

This person was born from a high stature. Manners are everything in this world. Reputation is king. How you present yourself is life and death. They have high expectations of how people should behave. Are you proper enough?

???? [M/F]

You’re on opposing sides. Is it possible for you to shake this person’s convictions and join you? Or will you meet a tragic fate in your journey for their love?

Ash [M/F]

A powerful contract user that was close to the Chosen One. They came back to things being much more different. How will they react that you're no longer the person they loved. There are more mysteries and problems for this person.

Anja [F]

A cheerful individual who acts as the communicator for the team. She often likes to keep things lighthearted. However, she hides her internal struggles for the sake of the mission. Will she make it to the very end?

Sigma [M]

A clueless musclehead through thick and thin. He's incredibly strong and has a heart of gold. Yet, he still yearns to learn the truth of who he is. Can he forgive himself in time, or will he die with regrets?

Uri [M]

A man who doesn't really know how to talk to people properly. He has trouble expressing his true feelings, but there's no changing the fact that he deeply cares for the team. He holds the Chosen One in high regard. Will you raise him up or will he crumble?

Before the Incident - Chapter 3 & 4

Hello everyone,

I am happy to announce that BTI chapter 3 & 4 has been uploaded. There are also parts of chapter 5 included, but only around 10K words. This update itself is around 50K words in total. I will be asleep soon after this post.

Please note, that I will most likely try fixing any bugs during the day, so keep aware of that. Other than that I hope you enjoy the new update!

I did add a new mechanic where the MC can choose to withhold their feelings for Anna/Apollo which leads to some new content. This only affects chapter 1 and a small part of chapter 2. This is an experimental mechanic, so I would love to hear some feedback about that.

Thank you all again for reading the update for "Before the Incident"! It was great to see all the kind responses about the update your support means a lot. I'm satisfied that I managed to make Anna/Apollo such a likable character. Other news, I hurt my arm from typing so much, so I will be forced to take a break from writing my story for a week. It shouldn't matter too much since the next expected update is around fall or winter this year.

I'd also like to hear feedback on the following aspects of the story:

- Guilt Mechanic ⚖️ - Where every time you flirt with another character after agreeing to be in a relationship with Anna/Apollo, your character will get a different response from the other party and feel guilty.

- Is it repetitive or annoying to constantly be berated for these feelings?

- Does this mechanic add to the overall narrative and experience?

- Unspoken Mechanic 🔇- This is only implemented in chapter 1 and the early part of chapter 2. This occurs if you decided not admit your feelings to Anna/Apollo at the end of the prologue. Afterwards, you're allowed to boldly flirt with other characters unlike the Guilt mechanic, but if you flirt, there's more of an internal conflict. The other party will remain unaware of your internal conflict.

- Is it repetitive or annoying to constantly be berated for these feelings?

- Does this mechanic add to the overall narrative and experience?

- Should there be moments of self sabotage on MC's part, even if this can be viewed as frustrating for the player?

- Abel/Belle Flirting Mechanic ❤️ - Has a different flirting mechanic compared to other RO's.

- Is this mechanic enjoyable or interesting?

- Lack of Stat Checks ⚔️ - I really don't like doing stat checks. I always found when I have to do a stat check in a story, it ruins my immersion by going to the stat screen.

- Do you still find the narrative enjoyable despite no stat checks?

- What are you some types of additional flavor text you would like to see in the story based off your Contract and hobby?

- POV Switches 👁️ - There were a lot of POV switches incorporated in the latest update.

- Did you find these POV switches effective or ineffective for the overall narrative?

- Please provide examples of strong/weak POV switches so that I may take note of strong/weak points for these switches?

The update for Before the Incident is out! In this update, you will learn more about demons and devils. Meet other team members. Before the Incident [Mid-September Progress]

Hello everyone,

It has been about a month since I updated Before the Incident. I took about a 2 week after the update and started writing around the beginning of September. So far I have 15k words written so far of the following:

Hangout with Abel/Belle

Hangout with Tenth

Mini-Flashback

Changed the journey to Krine to be about 1-4 weeks instead of 1 week

Also note, Remnant 21 will be on hiatus so I can complete Before the Incident. I will mark that on the pinned post.

My main goal is to write 100k words for the next update on December 1st. To be honest, I feel like that's not a lot, but I have to set a realistic bar (150K seems like an unrealistic goal). Hopefully, this should be enough to contain all of Act 2. Here's what to expect in the future update, I'll add a "read more" in case you want to be spoiler-free (As always, these are subject to change). Back to my writing hole I go.

Ahhhh.... so I read the update for before the incident....

Not that I wanted to... but I kinda had to choice because you forced me to by updating the damn thing 😑

I have aloot to say so welcome to a rant! 😏

1. I loved the update. Reluctantly so.

No seriously I really realllly reallllly enjoyed it!

2. And it was so long!

3. I loved the fact that you actually referenced A if you confessed and having guilt when it comes to picking any romance options.

4. Lots of action and The flashback with MC and A in high school was actually so great and I love the lore.

5. Love how MC and literally just be a vengeful little goblin.. it's alil scary but I like it.

6. I adore your humor in certain passages and the fact that MC doesn't just go along with everything but questions things.

7. I actually like Syo and tenth so much the dynamic between them is very sibling like.

8. Being told I'm not a rebound was tough. 🤦🏻‍♀️

9. I kinda am hugely crushing on H tho knowing you they are gonna be a villain and I'm gonna hate it 😑🙄

10. That dream about A was too sad..why the hell would you do that 😭

All in all this game is becoming a bit of me. I really do love your writing and I enjoy it more with each update. It almost makes up for the trauma you put me through losing A and then making me sad with each flashback with them.

I do have one question tho:

Is it at all a possibility to have a bit of unintentional romance? Like an obliviousish MC. Gentle touches, weird connection, very much in denial we are just friends/i dont care/antagonistic type MC. Not even noticing they are even falling inlove or care about anyone especially the MC that confessed to A. Because they aren't ready to move on, they don't intend to fall for anyone. It just happens.

I get that the shyish MC options when you aren't boldly flirting especially again if you confessed to A or they confessed to you are there. But to me that's more of an MC that just wants to move on, rebound as you said it that just wants to kind of forget. And throw themselves into someone else to help them heal leading them to actually caring for real. Some of those options like asking H out just screams let me see if I can pretend none of this happened and feeling guilty about it. Because asking out someone to dinner like right after they died seems kinda.. like it's a bit quick. Same with the Shy 💜 options with syo. Which is why it actually perfectly screams rebound vibes and where ROs would be rightly cautious to get involved with a still grieving MC that romanced A.

This is all just my opinion tho so if not I completely get it. I just had that thought. But thank you for the really great update and sorry this is so long. Like I said when I like something I tend to over analyze it 😅🤣♥️

It's good that you like the new characters! I'm also happy that you appreciate the extra effort I went through to add extra lines if you romanced A and then tried to flirt with someone else. It just felt right to include because it would be super jarring if the MC just moved on without acknowledging their past relationship. It was kinda satisfying writing a character calling out the MC about the rebound thing haha 😁

I'm surprised about your point 4. I thought it was minimal action since I only included one fight in the update which is much less compared to my other IF. Although, I definitely approached fights a lot more intelligently when I was writing this IF.

For your point 5, all I can say is that the journey will be as arduous as the other MC in Remnant 21 : V

For your point 6, I'm surprised you caught that. It was an additional scene I added since I wanted the MC to go to the fog, but ended up in the haunted house. At first, I planned to make the MC just go with it, but then I thought it would be nice to add a little friction with MC and Syo. Good eye!

As for your long question, that would be interesting to explore (Where an MC slowly realizes they are falling for someone). I would say there's a possible chance for a character to do this. Probably not all the ROs would have this option, but maybe one or two. Like a choice with [❤ ?] next to the option. That would be interesting.

As for your mention of H's date offer, I realized I should have probably changed it to lunch rather than dinner. I forgot the implications of dinner vs. lunch in that context :V I definitely will change that to lunch!

Hello! If you would like to get the Wanderer contract just select the following:

Choose the "Protein Deluxe Shake" for your drink

Choose "Sports" for your current ambitions

Choose "Loved to go fast" at the beginning of the ice rink part

Choose "Commit to an energetic dance" near the end of the ice rink part

Choose "Read some comic books" and "Physical/Dexterity-based power" at the library

Choose "Innocent Cog Endeavor [Fighting Game]" in the flashback when choosing a video game

Each choice will add a point to the Wanderer Contract. Some are worth more than others. I hope that helps!
