it's a cook or be cooked world out there y'all. Be the chef. Sure, it is easier to make a meal if you have a large kitchen and have someone to buy the ingredients, but the best chefs are the ones who don't need any of that. Learn the recipes. Share the food with friends. Don't just be content with living your life only eating microwave meals.

its absolutely hilarious to me how much of coping skills involves feederism as a kink considering how much i personally hate eating

#mochi rambles #mochi presents coping skills #like yes i have disordered eating problems that did NOT get better with the whole gut tumor saga thing #and in fact got substantially worse #and also got worse because of the whole weird allergy thing meaning i cant just stick frozen food in the microwave #eating has always been tedious at best #if not downright miserable and supremely stressful #frankly its rood that i have to do it several times a day #SEVERAL times a day i have to eat like every three hours or so #its bullshit #and yet it is one of the most pervasive kinks in coping skills #amd has shown up in several other fics in one way or another

In the Familiar AU, Dipper and Mabel basically grew up with Stan - and experienced the cooking skills thereof. When faced with choosing a life of glitter in his digestive tract, or earnest but burnt waffles, Dipper figured he might as well learn to cook. He's not winning any culinary awards or anything, but he can follow a recipe and make a decent pasta dish.

Besides. The alternative to Dipper cooking for Bill - is Bill cooking for Dipper. And since Bill's idea of delicacies involve terms like 'unholy abomination', 'unbearably spicy', or 'still squirming', Dipper's more likely than not to shove him out of the kitchen.

They mostly get lot of takeout.

#don't trick your friends with food restrictions to eat those foods though. that's a betrayal of trust if ever I've heard one #this shop is the best Third Space I've seen so far #there's a whole shelf of open games and puzzles underneath a public microwave #at least one fiber arts group meets there weekly and i can't wait to join them #there are huge tables for people to hang out around #a quieter area in the back for if you need to study or read or smth #the cafe makes the whole building smell divine #it was so lovely there that i almost got emotional when i walked into the main area

Shout-out to microwave recipes for keeping me sane when the thought of cooking might just send me over the edge

#ace tries cooking #sometimes i try cooking but sometimes i just wanna be able to eat without the time and stress of prep and dishes #i have a lil microwave 'mug' cake recipe i like to use infrequently and i just made microwave pasta cus despite the painkillers kicking in #i still feel a lil rough and i think i might be coming down with something which is the last time you wanna thinking about cooking but #i finished my leftovers and i ran out of instant noodles and my kitchen is surprisingly sparse on easy to make food it all at least #requires a pan and that was not the vibe today sometimes you just need to be able to make food without having to agonise over the cooking #microwave and one pot recipes are a student/broke persons best friend we dont have time for that faff nor can we afford it

i love having frozen berries in the winter and it feels like the height of modern luxury to bite into the flavour of summer in the dead of the winter. when i was a kid i had a winter where i had a box of frozen strawberries i lightly defrosted in the microwave for an after school snack every single day. i set up the coffee table in front of the tc and sat on a cushion and watched der alte whlle eating my strawberries ...

#in retrospect this was one of my first food related rituals but it was amazing.#defrosting strawberries in the microwave was great because some of the berries became jam like and others stayed frozen #and the best ones were soft on the inside and a little frozen on the outside...

y'know I might've been able to cope with not being able to eat tonight. I'd have still felt awful but it wouldn't have been that bad. but being called rude for leaving because I couldn't eat is even worse

#she served out food when I told her I couldn't come out yet because y'know doubled over in pain can't exactly do anything #so what might've been edible wasn't because it was cold and the microwave did ruin it #but most of the food was inedible anyway. what the fuck even was that. it was disgusting at the very least #and I thought I might be able to get a second chance but nope. only brought out stuff I can't eat. or if I can there's so little of it I #won't get any of it #oh and did I mention the fact she gave me half what she had? again? it's deliberate. I know it's deliberate.#I just can't deal with the stress she imbues food with for me. I can't eat lunch without being told I'm a pig #if my m*ther cooks it's always 'too much' or 'wasteful' or some other insult #if she cooks it's miserable at best inedible a good chunk of the time and it's a roulette wheel if I'm able to do anything else #I can't do anything tonight.
