looking at beta raikou entei and suicine makes the whole “legendary dogs” thing make... a lot more sense
is that just a weird coincidence or was the term coined by someone who knew about the beta???
#pokemon gold silver beta#thats so strange#cause theyre clearly doglike in the beta#but in the final theyre very much clearly NOT dogs (except suicune who is more ambiguous)

In an interview with Ken Sugimori and Muneo Saitou, who designed them, it was revealed their final designs were based off of big cats (tiger, leopard, and lion for Raikou, Suicune, and Entei respectively)
ah thank you! i always speculated suicine was a leopard or a cheetah but i never knew it was confirmed
