DID YOU KNOW #CemeteryBoys starts on the night of October 29th (last night) - thats when Yadriel summons ghost Julian and let me tell you I'm sooooo glad I read this book this past week because I LOVE LIVING IN THE MOMENT!. Q: Have you read Cemetery Boys yet and what did you think of it? And if not, do you plan to? (whispers you really should). First and foremost - this is not my story. I am not #Latinx or #Transgender. But I am so very glad this story exists for those who do identify as either (or both) of those. This is the fantasy story we all needed! I'm getting warm fuzzies just writing this because I'm so happy a fantasy book with a Latinx #Trans character exists. 2020 at its finest! I absolutely loved Yadriel and Julian. This book is fast paced, and takes place over only a couple days, but I feel like we learn so much about both Yads and Jules in this short time, there is great character development and I really feel like I know these two. I also adore Maritza, Yadriel's cousin - she was the first person Yad's came out to as trans and gay, and she fully supports him. Do you like to go camping? 🏕 I like the *idea* of camping, and certain parts of it, but the reality? Eh, not so much. Ultimately, at the end of the day, I want a real bed, in a temperature-controlled space, with an attached, private bathroom. (I think my least favorite thing about camping is getting up to pee in the middle of the night. How are you spending your Sunday? 🍁🍂 Hubs & I stayed up late after the babies went to bed last night for a mini at-home date night. We made a bunch of appetizers for a late dinner and watched a movie for the first time in about four months. I'm exhausted, since we didn't get to bed until about midnight, but it was also really nice to get some couple time in together. But since we're both so tired, it's a lazy Sunday for us. Other than some laundry, I think we're just gonna bum around the house. . . Even though it's fall now, the weather has turned sunny again here & it's going to be very warm this week. Happy Saturday! 🍂 What's something small that made your day brighter recently? . . Our twins have been going through a sleep regression this week, which means I've been extra sleep deprived because of all the overnight stirrings. 😭 But this morning I woke up peacefully after 8am, because my husband had quietly gotten up and taken care of both babies so I could get some more sleep. . . How do you unwind? 🍷 Just give me a good book & a stiff drink, and I'm usually good to go. Eh, maybe it's not the healthiest choice, but wine, beer, booze ... it all works for me. . . I actually really miss drinking wine right now. I pretty much stopped drinking altogether when I was going through fertility treatments, and obviously didn't drink at all while I was pregnant. And these days, I'm still pumping milk 4x a day to feed my kiddos, and when I DO have a drink at the end of the day, it's usually a beer, because it helps boost my milk supply. So all that to say, my wine cabinet is very full and calling to me. But until I'm ready to stop nursing & really bust into my stash again, I can at least enjoy the *idea* of wine with this candle from @getfictional ... it smells divine, and not at all like grape juice (which a lot of other "wine" candles tend to smell like). Do you like going to the pumpkin patch? 🎃 It is one of our FAVORITE activities, but my husband & I weren't comfortable taking the babies to a public patch this year because of the 'rona, so we made our own in the backyard! We planted pumpkins over the summer, and then decided we needed MORE pumpkins, so we got a bunch during our weekly grocery pick-up. We ended up having a blast. We had photo ops, a mini "hayride" on my niece's toy tractor, crafts, homemade apple cider donuts, and wrapped it up by roasting hot dogs over our firepit. . .
