Now let's take a look at the kitchen which includes a range from the 1940s and a refrigerator from the 1930s.  Also the intricately detailed staircase!!

The exterior of the home is quite impressive but to be honest I think the inside is what really made an impression on me.  The home was meticulously taken care of over the years and it showed with many of the original design features remaining.  All of the original hardwood floors were still intact and the exterior windows were all leaded glass.  All of the interior doors had beveled leaded glass windows, some of which were more decorative than others.  There are many more features to this home but I will let the video speak to these aspects.

One can see some new furniture has been added in the form of some tables, which were recreated for the room and are part of a larger suite which is currently being recreated using photographs, drawings and historical inventory descriptions. The recreated suite of furniture will include the following: 1. 1 beveled, glass mirror which hung between the two middle windows of the room. 2. 1 wooden, folding-screen with leaded-glass decoration and fabric panels. 3. Tables which have been recreated with their fabric-upholstered surfaces. 4. Wooden-framed chairs with a flower-calyx design (typical of the Art Nouveau period) with seat cushions, like those in the Palisandre Drawing-Room. 5. Wooden-framed stools with seat cushions. 6. 1 wooden-framed, upholstered settee with the same design as the chairs, which sat in the corner by the staircase. 7. 1 wooden-framed, revolving étagère (revolving bookcase) which featured historically in this room. 8. An upholstered chaise-longue, cushioned chairs and two sofas. 9. A wooden-framed bookcase with glass cabinet and open shelves. 10. Jardinières (flower boxes/planters) which featured historically in this room. 11. Built-in, upholstered cozy-corner sofas with display shelves , which featured historically in this room. PLEASE NOTE: It must be remembered the palace-museum needs enough walking space for tour groups which are large in number. So with this in mind, not every single piece of furniture may be recreated. We'll just have to wait and see until this project finishes.
