What are your thoughts on the attempts to ban drag in some states?

“Well, I mean, come on, America is a hot fucking mess, a real hot mess. I recently saw Wanda Sykes’ stand up special, which was genius. First of all, Wanda is one of the funniest people I’ve ever witnessed perform and she’s also a very nice lady. I’ve met her many times in New York and Fire Island. We’ve hung out a lot and she’s wonderful. In that latest comedy special, she summed it up best when she was like, “until a drag queen walks into a school and beats eight kids to death with a copy of To Kill A Mockingbird, I think you’re focusing on the wrong shit.” That makes total sense to me. We’re in this country with gun control issues and all of the madness going on, the number one killer is guns, and they’re worried about a drag brunch for fuck’s sake?! You know, if you don’t like it, don’t go.”

“To be fair, I don’t know any drag queen that likes children! I am not that person. I am not interested in performing to children. I’m not interested in that side of it at all. It’s pretty insane that this is where we are in this world, that this is the top topic of discussion because none of it is true. Every day on Twitter, I’m seeing news about some youth pastor who has been molesting children. That’s the problem. Organized religion is a problem. Guns are a problem. No one’s educated, that’s a fucking problem. So it blows my mind that this is a hot topic. The fact that everything is run state by state, is so insane too, so just when you think you’re in the clear, you take 10 steps back with another state. I’m amazed and yet appalled by it, but this is where we are in the world. This is what’s dominating the news right now, which is completely insane to me.”

Kara hadn't thought too much about it until she saw the report that Charlie had filed that claimed her sister was the reporter of the situation.

"B," Kara called as she let herself into her sister's home, fist having knocked firmly on the door a few times to announce her presence. "Listen. I know Richard is important to you and we will do all we can to find out where he has up and gone to, but for future reference you should probably clarify that the old man in the red hat and blue jumpsuit is a gnome and not an elderly citizen in need of a silver alert being issued to the entire town. You created quite a scene."

Bianca hadn't heard from Cassidy since before the festival and frankly she was nervous about him and his family. So she made sure to make one of the breads she was giving out to people she was apologizing to and filled it up extra with protection spells and headed over to his place. She needed to make sure they were all okay. It at first looked like there wasn't much damage and Bianca found herself releasing her breath she didn't know she was holding out of worry. Knocking on his door, she only relaxed further as soon as she saw him. "Oh thank god. Please tell me you're okay after all of this demon business!"

BIOGRAPHY

Growing up in the Sykes family was a wonderful life, although not rich none of the children needed and/or wanted for anything. The only exception might be wanting to explore the world, travel and see new places given the Sykes family was renowned throughout their town for their magical gifts. Although the youngest of the Sykes clan and having a nineteen year difference between Bianca and him, Cassidy counted himself lucky to have amazing siblings who remained in contact with him and would allow him to visit during the summers.

Throughout his childhood, Cassidy outshone many his age academically, musically and was assumed to be that kid destined for great things. Not only was he gifted in school, he showed real promise in his magical abilities. However, life has funny twists. The girl next door Abigail stole his heart when they were just in diapers. Growing up next-door, the two were inseparable and became playground boyfriend and girlfriend at a young age and eventually official boyfriend and girlfriend at thirteen. Abigail and Cassidy planned to go to college and travel the world together. Yet at the ripe age of fifteen the two paced the floor of his bedroom waiting for the results of the pregnancy test. Several minutes later the stick turned pink and their plans of adventure went south. Needless to say, both families were not thrilled at the prospect of their kids having kids. However, each family was extremely supportive and did their best to help navigate them through the prospects of parenthood.

As Cassidy was supposed to become into the rite of passage of getting a driver’s license, he instead was becoming a father while his siblings off doing their own adventures, Cassidy felt left behind and stuck. Both Abigail and Cassidy quickly got jobs to support their baby son, while trying to finish their GED.

Only six months after the birth of their child, Abigail’s parents were called to Raven’s Peak, a town Cassidy knew well for the couple of weeks he spent there with his eldest sister Bianca during the summer months. Only sixteen and parents, Abigail moved with her parents and Cassidy stayed behind for a couple of months before making the giant leap to follow wanting to be with his son and girlfriend.

Who would have thought life as teen parents wouldn’t be easy? With sleepless nights and being so young the two fought constantly about bills, their son and everything under the sun. Eventually a year after their son’s birth, the two called it quits and decided to split custody for their son’s sake. Little did they know what the future would bring them…

After their breakup, Cassidy fell into a pattern of partying and dating several people at a time with little concern of anyone involved. At least until he met Riley, who flipped his world upside down. Everything about the woman enticed him; the two started a toxic relationship filled with cheating and drugs. Eventually, this resulted in twins by the time he was nineteen. With three kids to support before the age of twenty, Cassidy found jobs wherever he could to try and support the three kids.

However, with his addiction issues it caused problems with his custody arrangement with Abigail and he started seeing less and less of his oldest son Spencer. In fact, his drug issues started affecting more than just himself. It stretched to his siblings and his parents, he began stealing from work which caused him to lose his job and eventually he got caught stealing from his eldest sister resulting in the lack of trust with his family and him.

For years, Cassidy would sober up for several months, occasionally getting near a year and then would fall off the wagon, always leaving his family in fear of getting the phone call that he died of an overdose. At the ripe age of twenty-seven, he met a woman at a party and the two had a one-night stand. Nothing new for Cassidy, he never thought he would see her again. Yet, nearly a year later she showed up with a baby named Lily in a car seat and handed the baby off to him and disappeared.

It has been four years since Lily fell into his lap. Since then, Cassidy had been sober for the most part besides his slip a year ago where he started using again for about six months and sought help to get clean once more.

Currently, he still struggles with his disease but he goes to his meetings and leans on his family for support. He has been sober for six months and is working as a server at the local diner. Spencer, his eldest son is now sixteen the same age he was when he had him. The two rarely speak, years of ups, but mostly downs have caused a rift between them. While his three youngest kids live with him in a small two bedroom apartment downtown. Most people who know him, don’t have much nice to say about him given his general attitude towards everything. But, he loves his kids and is trying to do right by them.
