So I’m talking abt the wisdom in a JCole lyric (this whole song is a sermon) all week! ...... I am a #HipHopWomanist. #BibleStudyWithJCole || I be talking abt @joanmorgan all the time because #WhenChickenHeadsComeHomeToRoost gave me language for how #HipHop was as much mine as it was the men it centers - and that my spiritual/religious/academic/sociopolitic didn't have to be separate. Which was the start of my #HipHopWomanist journey. .... This #PreachEb is me thinking abt immature relational encounters I've had in my day (there have been many) because of emotionally incapable menfolk. I do not believe men are less capable of feeling and/or articulating their feelings... But between the sacred text we call the scripture in the bible and this sacred text that is hip hop lyrics we realize that there is a disconnect for many men when it comes to growing up in their thinking on love. (I didn't say all men so get out of my comments, in advance). . . . Anyways...
