Still Life feels like a wall has been lifted from around my heart.

After being a VIP since 2007/08, I’ve found it hard to listen to Bigbang much these past few years. It just felt too painful.

Since Still Life came out, I’ve been listening to their music every waking moment and it’s honestly felt so therapeutic. I remember all the moments shared with Bigbang. Listening to a friend’s ipod at lunch in high school, secretly watching the Knockout MV at the school computer lab, the joy when my copy of Alive finally arrived, camping out all day for both Alive and MADE tours, high school, college, grad school, marriage... life went on, Bigbang was always there. Despite all the pain, there are so many precious memories too.

I can’t forget any of it. Thank you, Bigbang, for everything.

[011319] Fans Furious With Yang Hyun Suk’s Horrid Treatment Towards BIGBANG’s Seungri During His Concert Tour

Yang Hyun Suk treated him like he was nothing.

BIGBANG‘s Seungri has been touring Asia for his solo concert “The Great Seungri”, with Sandara Park as his most recent special guest for his Hong Kong stop, but fans are currently up in arms over how poorly he has been treated during his tour.

During his stop in the Hong Kong, he revealed that Yang Hyun Suk called him prior to his concert, asking him what he was doing. Seungri’s own boss didn’t even remember that he had a concert that day.

Furthermore, Yang Hyun Suk asked Seungri whether he needed back-up dancers or not. Back-up dancers are a must for any solo concert, especially when the artist has dance tracks, so of course Seungri said he needed them. But Yang Hyun Suk said he can just do it alone, since he’s Seungri.

To make matters worse, almost all of Seungri’s back-up dancers ended up performing with BLACKPINK for their concert in Thailand, leaving only 2 back-up dancers for Seungri’s entire show (Note, this is not BLACKPINK’s fault in any way).

Another issue that many of Seungri’s fans have is the complete lack of promotion and advertisement for his concert tour.

Fans have detailed how YG Entertainment has made zero effort in promoting his concert, specifically in the Philippines, and revealed that much of the promotion was done by VIP’s themselves.

VIP’s around the world are rightfully pissed at Yang Hyun Suk, and are not afraid to voice their opinions on his favoritism.

This is a song appreciation post for the KINGS OF KPOP! BIGBANG! Being the first male kpop group to be invited in one of America’s biggest stages, Coachella Festival 2020!

  “Love that I thought would last forever has set to end.” 

With all the controversies of some members appeared after their tour promotions, leading up to their mandatory military enlistment, and losing one member, this was the song they dedicated to their fans to say their goodbyes with their long hiatus. Some fans questioned the group whether they’d be still performing after one member left or would disband but this year 2020, the group made an announcement of being part of the lineup for Coachella Festival 2020! 

“The world goes around just fine without me. I’m still young, I’m still immature. Why am I such a fool?”

The lyrics were written by some of the members themselves. It was already a heart-wrenching moment for the VIPs after the song starts off with just a piano accompaniment and finishes with TOP’s verse describing the group’s every shining moment with their fans. The melody of the chorus, honestly, is what really got me, simple yet very emotional and it just touches your heart. 

“As I sing this song to you, I will return to you. If only I could see the beautiful you again. I will listen to this song with you and dance for the last time. Remember this moment. Just one last dance.”

VIP Diaries: (Meeting Seungri!!!) The Great Seungri Show in Manila 2019

Hello 안녕 안녕 shimmers and VIPs! Wow, I’ve been wanting to publish this post for a while now because this experience I had during The Great Seungri Show in Manila is a FIRST in my whole life as a BIGBANG VIP! I met Seungri and I got the sweet sweet chance to be in a photo with him. Not a standee, not a poster but the real Seungri!! Gurlll, I could go on and on about this but let me compose myself for a bit and talk about The Great Seungri Tour which happened in MOA Arena last January 19, 2019.

So, if you know me or if you’ve been following my SNS and happened to see one of my posts from last year, you’d know how much I loathe this area. I swore I won’t even go anywhere near Mall of Asia after the trauma I had from this horrible incident. And after that, I never attended any sort of event if it’s held around this area.

THIS IS MY FIRST TIME back here in months. Only BIGBANG can bring me back! The bitter memories are now replaced, thanks my Panda Seungri!!

This VIP concert experience is made possible by K-Music Insider! I’m beyond grateful for this chance because the truth is, my budget didn’t allow me to shed 10k upfront that time for the VIP seats and photo-op opportunity. I would’ve settled for a cheaper lower box ticket but I still made sure I hop into giveaways with the goal of getting a photo-op pass in mind. And dear heavens K-Music Insider blessed me with one! 넘너무 행복해 ㅠㅠ

Gates opened at 7pm and I entered the venue at around 7:15. There weren’t crazy lines so I just went straight to the entrance. There weren’t any chaos (thank goodness) and I know it’s a good thing, but I’m kinda sad too because we weren’t able to fill the entire arena. The show was announced late so many VIPs weren’t able to prepare them fundsss (including me haha)

BUT when the show started, it didn’t feel like the arena isn’t full! It was a whole new party out there!! Just exactly as how I expect a BIGBANG concert should be. I mean, Seungri is a total charmer and I’m sure all VIPs know that he’s the best at sweeping the crowd off their feet compared to the rest of the members. Seungri has been my bias wrecker since 2012! Oh well, but yo gurl is tough and my heart for G-Dragon won’t be swayed by anything!!!! \\(^^,)//

Also, this is my first time to attend a concert without my sister or cousin (huhuhuhu) so I don’t have someone to take turns with recording. But then again, all throughout my life as a K-Pop fangirl, I have learned how important it is to really get into the moment instead of recording each and every part of the show. I’m so proud of Seungri! This is his first ever solo world tour and I can see that he did so well in pleasing and wowing the crowd despite the absence of his hyungs. 

Did you watch the whole video? BOYYY I CHOKED WHEN HE SLAYED THAT TAGALOG SONG!! I swear that song by Inigo Pascual annoyed me for a while because I hear it everywhere. But gurllll, who would’ve thought that I’d learn how to love it. I’ve been singing it subconsciously right after the concert. I mean, I’m gonna be honest, he sounded more native than Sandara and Ryan Bang (he showed up briefly on stage too along with Anne Curtis) LOL

Dara was also a guest for Seungri’s show. Well, Sandara has always been a steady guest whenever BIGBANG would show up here for a tour! That’s OG YG Family for you, children! The 2NE1 songs she performed were immensely nostalgic. How can my eyes well up over happy songs? I’m still hoping for a 2NE1 reunion to fulfill my empty Blackjack heart! :(

Seungri has always been the life of the party and he’s so good at being in variety shows! That’s what he served us during his concert. For a short moment we all thought we mistakenly entered a comedy bar, not a concert LOL Seungri made my stomach burst out of laughter the entire night. He’s just GOLD! He even savaged his fellow BIGBANG members in front of us. haha! Ang lakas ng loob kasi everyone’s in the military haha

Seungri showed us funny photos of every BIGBANG member for him to roast... EXCEPT for T.O.P... So naturally, us VIPs will ask and look for him. When he wrapped the photos up without including TOP, all of us went “Where’s TOP?!!!” I honestly thought he’ll just brush it off, considering all the crazy controversy surrounding TOP, I won’t be surprised if he’ll just ignore us. But Seungri didn’t. He heard us and he gave us a very reassuring answer.

VIPS: “TOP!!! TOP!!! Where’s TOP?”

SEUNGRI: “Ah, TOP? He’s fine! I just wanna say he’s okay.”

ME: Wooooh!!! OMG OMG *hyperventilating*

SEUNGRI: “He’s super okay. Yeah. He will come back soon, don’t worry!”

VIPs: *crying and going wild*

SEUNGRI: “You know what, now in BIGBANG, TOP is MOST OKAY! hahaha We are all okay..”

The entire show lasted for around 3 hours, I think. Seungri gave us major K-Pop throwback as he also sang a lot of his great hits from his early solo career (Strong Baby, Gotta Talk to U, GG BE..), as well as BIGBANG’s! It was an amazing show full of nostalgia. 

Here’s my only #OOTD shot from the concert, together with my fellow mod at BIGBANG Philippines - Chi! 

We, along with the ladies of 2NE1 PH, as well as other VIP friends lined up for the photo-op right after the concert. Each photo with Seungri will be done by 10s and we’re fortunate enough to be the last ones in line so there were just 8 of us.

I mean, let that sink in for a short moment. Gurl, MY EXISTENCE GOT PULVERIZED! I wasn’t sure of what was happening and if it really was happening at all. For the first time in my 10-year VIP fangirl life, I was able to see and interact with a BIGBANG member. INSANE!

As I was walking towards Seungri, my mind went blank. I just stretched my hand for him to shake and I told him that he did great on stage. OH DEAR I remember him just looking back at me, smiling and thanking me for coming to his show. I’m in a trance! And because I went straight to him and approached him first, I totally forgot everything I initially planned. I have my phone in hand to secretly record everything just for my personal memento but totally forgot!! Also planning to stand beside him (I was 2nd in line so I could’ve done that) but chose to just talk to him first so by the time I was done talking, everyone got settled already while I’m still lost in front of him! Also planned to stand on his right side because that’s my freakin’ angle but totally forgot!!! HAHAHAHA Basically, my mind stopped functioning LOL but I’m so happy I got to interact with the King of all Maknaes, SEUNGRI. Everything happened so fast and when we were asked to leave, I made sure I told him I love him! HAHA He’s probably tired of hearing that from everybody but at least I let it out my chest. ^^

Say hello to my very nervous smile!!!! HAHAHA My heart was about to pop out of my mouth! SEUNGRI is just super handsome and I’m not just saying this because I’m a fan. Like he’s legit handsome and his smile is so dreamy. He’s just genuinely friendly and there’s this warmth from him that makes you forget he’s a star. I guess I’m used to seeing K-Pop stars being cold in real life, but definitely not Seungri! 

Ah, seeing him so close is definitely one for the books! Ah also, I would like to thank my Moonshot x Innisfree combo for keeping my foundation on point despite going crazy the entire night. hihihi~~ (I will review these two soon, promise!)

I’m beyond happy to see Seungri’s last show before he enlists. Their OT5 comeback may take a while because of their military schedule and all these sad controversies that still stir everything up unnecessarily! But hey, we’re all waiting at the Flower Road (꽃길) so I can only hope that the kings stay healthy and happy. 

My next goal is to see all BIGBANG members in their Final world tour in Seoul - 2020, 2021, who knows! Really hoping to have the same amazing opportunity like this to meet all of them next time. IT WILL HAPPEN I CAN FEEL IT! <3

It's March 11 in Korea so that means happy 4BANG anniversary! First or second, depending on how you look at it. Two years ago today the complexion of the group abruptly and unexpectedly changed; one year ago today they took back their future and made it official, charting a new path forward as 4. Since then circumstances beyond their control have put those grand return plans on hold, but even so, we VIPs are still here, still eagerly anticipating the next earthshaking, groundbreaking move by the tour de force known as BIGBANG 👑

They will not be the same. Big bang will not return as 4 in an efficient way to say the least if YG does not uproot his crooked practices and his outdated ways of running things. I would highly hope that BB is smart and leaves YG together forming their own label to return as 4 or sign with Teddy even PSY. But again, it would be the most resourceful and smart thing for them to leave ALL YG influences behind them and rebrand themselves showing new sides. If they come back as 4 under YG in an expected way I personally will be disappointed in them although I always felt OT4 in my heart ( I always saw one member leaving around this time anyway tbh).

I want them to do well and return but at the same time I feel sadly it would not be right. They are done in my eyes no bias or animosity, I’m very neutral about it. We live in different times than 2nd gen days. The world was different back then as well. Now everyone is hung by social media, public opinion on first judgement and political correctness. With me too era really snatching everyone (even dead folks) it seems a bit of stretch for them to return let alone under YG. Today’s era you can’t afford to mess up cause word spreads in 10 seconds as opposed to 10 days -2 weeks pre internet era.

The biggest test for Big Bang is to shed that YG image. They’ve allowed and made YG a part of their band’s brand image and identity for far longer than they should have and that is not healthy business wise or performance wise. 

They were loyal to him but should have left once they reached over their peak and gotten everything they needed from him. It’s apparent now they’ve stayed cause aside from history and comfort, YG a safe haven for misbehaving and tolerating illegal acts that any other company would have crumbled under or threw them out on. When we think big bang as OT4 we need to have the majority of their image not be ”YG family” or “YG” or anything related to that. The majority not all of it. Can’t erase the past and the legacy of that.

Like SNSD is SM’s top girl top and we all think of SM with them but I see SNSD being more liberated from that? I don’t seem wearing SM on their back like BB does with YG. There is a BIGBANG sweetie but their future lies solely in what they chose to down unless they have no choice beyond them, but to disband literally or disband by never promoting together again.  Daesung is too quiet despite his success alone and should go solo, he’s a solid non problematic team player, but like park bom, silence isn’t going to help him with aiding in big bang image. VIPS and fans tend to always dote on daesung cause aside from the car accident he doesn’t have much drama and they take his silence as peaceful. We don’t know anything about daesung personally other than what is shown so he could be just as bad as seungri or anybody else. I’m just being realistic. TOP (love him so much) should have been left the group once he got heavy into art. Around sotheby’s project he should have left. He overstayed  in bigbang and got too comfortable then it blew up in his face. Taeyang and GD should have formed a duo together or Taeyang going solo.

I really (in my own opinion here!) feel like all of BB to some extent have become co-dependent of each other and the label collectively. Seungri was the most ambitious and determined to not rely on them or YG yet he did crooked acts and allowed YG in on it. This was not how it was suppose to go for big bang at all. I feel there is a big bang in past but their future lies in them wanting to get their shit together and stick to their values. Even then they need a mass media tour of cleaning their image up or some form of charity. This isn’t America where they can bounce back and people aren’t extra about failures. Taeyang though needs to leave before the company officially disbands them without his approval or disapproval. I really feel like even if they would have bombed in America they should have let their pride go and fear of the unknown go and try America anyways. They can’t cross over now. It’s too late and BTS is at the spot worldwide especially in America where BIGBANG should and could have been at. Social Media and the new age reaaallly helped BTS but their outlook got them here.

If you’re going to get this comfortable and mess up at least have a second language on deck and some sort of following in America so you can bounce back elsewhere. The only multi bilingual person who had a chance was Seungri himself and he nearly in jail. IF they ever come back as OT4 I am not stanning BIG BANG. I can’t tell you what to do sweetie, but for me personally I have to judge and view them like I do American artists. SO, I’ll only listen to the music and thats it. I can’t get into big bang as people anymore cause they’re all perplexing and pretentious in their own ways.

BigBang's Seungri Wants To Eat At Changi Airport’s Food Court

We’re at CÉ LA VI, where the media is eagerly anticipating the arrival of K-pop star, Seungri. The BigBang member was in town (again!) last Saturday for the opening of the Braun Buffel boutique at Marina Bay Sands and of course we jumped at the chance to interview him. Sure, he was an hour late but we're not complaining. The star more than made up for it with his candidness and down-to-earth attitude, and even conversed fluently in English without the help of the translator hovering behind him. Heck, Seungri is so nice, he even waved off his PR minders when they tried to stop us from asking him a question that hadn't been approved earlier. P/S: We've also never met a K-pop idol who says, “No problem lah!” when asked to mic up, though, to be fair, Seungri is not just any K-pop idol.

 The 28-year-old had released his solo album, The Great Seungri, in July but don't bother asking him about how well the album did. He tells us that he “doesn’t check the sales because [he’s] afraid [of the outcome]”. But we don’t think Seungri has anything to worry about. After all, he acts, DJs (he even spun at Zouk a couple months’ back) and owns many businesses, such as a ramen empire, a medical company which develops cancer screening kits, as well as a chain of bars and lounges.

For the past year or so, Seungri has been a full-fledged solo act, though not by choice. His BigBang bandmates, Daesung, Taeyang, G-Dragon and T.O.P, have all been drafted for their mandatory Korean military service, with him possibly enlisting some time next year. However, Seungri has a list of things he wants to complete before his enlistment, which includes a solo world tour.

But we all know how fast time flies. Especially when you're having fun. We had tried to test his wits by asking him to name the capital of Singapore (a reference to an episode of Running Man where the contestants failed to answer that trick question), but unfortunately, he couldn't quite catch what we said. And as we were about to repeat our question, we were cut off by his minders just five minutes into our chat. Oh, well. Till next time then. 

8 DAYS: How do you feel now that the other BigBang members are in the army and that you've gone solo?

SEUNGRI: I feel… (Pauses) So lonely. So, so lonely. I really miss my members and I wish to reunite with them. However, going solo has allowed me to show my fans how much I’ve grown and achieved as an individual.

8 DAYS: Have you done anything special for the members, for example, sent them gifts, or helped their family while they are away?

SEUNGRI: (Enthusiastically) Yeah! We are all very close, and sometimes I would travel, play golf and have dinner together with their families. 

8 DAYS: You've been here many times so you must be really familiar with Changi Airport. So what's your favourite thing to eat there?

SEUNGRI: Actually, if I had a chance, I would like to try the food court at Changi Airport!(Laughs) Because I’m always going through the VIP exit, there isn’t a chance for me to eat anything at the restaurants there. Of course, in Singapore, I love eating the crabs here, as well as (turns to his minder and asks) What is the name of Singapore’s signature sandwich? Ah, kaya toast! (Laughs)

8 DAYS: You're also friends with a number of Singaporeans, like Kim Lim. How close are you guys? 

SEUNGRI: (The PR minder tries to stop us from asking this question, but Seungri waves them off and says, "No no, it’s okay, why not?") I am really close to Kimmy Lim, her brother, Kiat, and her father, Peter Lim, of course. I met them four years ago at BigBang’s concert in Singapore, and they’re such nice people. We always travel and have meals together. Oh! I do have a funny story to tell you, actually. Once, I went to Bali with my Japanese friends, but because of the volcano [eruption], the airport was shut down and we couldn’t get out. I had to go back to Korea but all the flights were cancelled. [So I called] Kimmy and she got her dad to send down a private jet. At that time, I wasn’t aware of [how rich] Peter Lim is. So, I was like, "Wow, Kimmy, your father’s so awesome! So awesome! You know, he sent down a private jet just like that!" That’s a really good memory. (Laughs) ​​​​​​​
