a.n. ayo, what's this? a drabble?! kcjbnwbrtpqw just this once, maybe! beardyman's 'mountain side' has got me in a lovesick stupor for the bbygirl and i caved :') writing something like this is a new experience, bear with me y'all LMAO

"[name]!" billy exclaimed brightly, his grin stretching all the more wider.

little amount of time is left to gleefully muster anything other than his name before the pop-star sprung onto you, immediate—desperate. his hands wrapped themselves around your waist at a striking speed that only rendered you breathless. your stunned state could do so little to keep yourself steady as the both of you collapsed onto the ground. of course, the fall was the least of your concerns and your laughter further resonated with his own. "babe, it's been forever!" a dreamy sigh tickled the crook of your neck, the tang of cigarette burning the tip of your nose while the pep of a sweet danish bear claw mellowed your senses. he took a moment to nestle his forehead into the warmth of your skin, and eagerly so. "didja miss me? ah who am i kidding? 'course you did." he pulled away from you almost instantly, his hands placed on your shoulders and eyes glistening expectantly, "you did miss me, right?"

you gave him a hearty chuckle, mind probing at the thought of razzing him a little. a teasing hum resounded within your chest. "i dunno. i mean, it's only been about, what, eight months? has it really been that long...?"

the celebrity whined. "what?! that's like, TWO years! babe!"

you cracked the slightest of a smile which failed to reflect your cheeky façade. you quickly tried to cover it up by pressing your lips together into a thin line, but much to no one's surprise, your horrible attempt in doing so went completely unnoticed.

"[name]!" billy pouted, frown hysterically heavy as he distanced himself from you. you couldn't help but let out a chortle, your hands reaching for his arms in hopes of easing the doubt in his mind.

"billy, i'm joking! of course i—whoa!" a gasp escaped your lips as your face was met with an onslaught of fervent pecks and smooches. a smile grew on your lips, your hands coming up to try and push away, but to no avail. your laughter boomed louder with every tight squeeze. "billy—!"

"not gonna stop until i hear you say it!" he says between kisses, each one trailing from your cheek down to your collarbone.

he smiled against your skin, his chuckles tickling you silly. you laughed, "really? that's your plan?" and just when you thought it couldn't get any more hectic, he pressed a wet kiss against your cheek. you craned your head away from the affectionate assault, his lips now peppering kisses behind your ear. "gross!" you shrieked, shoving him back playfully as he goofily giggled in response. his hands came up to cup your cheeks, holding your head in place as he pressed several more wet ones. "i was going to say it until you cut me off, i swear!"

"i'm hearing a lot of excuses and not enough 'oh baby! you're so bro-mazing! i missed you so so much! muah muah muah'!"

"okay, okay! just—" the kisses continued unabated until you were able to catch your breath and pull away slightly. billy pursed his lips, eyes fixed rather impatiently, but solely, on you.

"i missed you," you admit gently, "i really did."

the corners of his mouth pulled upward in a smile. his face was flushed, eyes alight with mirth. the arms around you slackened for a split second and without delay, billy planted a kiss on your lips. "that's more like it." he smiled triumphantly as he swooped back in to give you another, this one a little longer—greedy beyond imagination.

"hey," you muttered softly as you pulled back from the kiss, his lips comically chasing after your own. you stopped him with your palm across his chest before he could follow through on his impulse. he pouts when he sees the smirk on your face. you'll indulge him, you think to yourself, but first: "how was the tour, hotshot?"

his demeanor brightened. he grinned that goofy grin of his, his eyes fluttering shut before kissing you again—one last time. "well, since you're dying to know..."

• we all know this guy's ego is off the rails, but he genuinely does try for you.... even if the approach doesn't come across that at first.

• it takes a while for billy to recognize that you're a little down in the dumps. he doesn't fully catch on until he realizes that this "sudden change in mood" hasn't fully simmered down after a while. you haven't laughed at his jokes like you usually do? that's cool, maybe you didn't get it! don't wanna hang with him, spencer and the gang? begs, but he ultimately respects the decision (though he does feel a bit iffy). it isn't until he gets the hint that you're not well mentally—be it by emotional outburst or time—that he then starts to feel guilty for not noticing it sooner.

• is definitely quick to drop everything and rush to your side!!

• he's hasn't experienced comforting people as much ever since his buddy spencer came along, but even then he's at a loss and his brain is in a bit of a fritz

• bby tries comforting you in ways that HE would like to be comforted i.e. getting you a vast amount of chunky peanut butter with the chunks taken out, smothering you constantly, excessive bonsai clipping and dressing you up in only the best bjc fashion

• ofc, everyone's different and it isn't long before billy catches on to that

• you gotta be firm with the guy and tell him what you need. once he hears you out, billy, ever the drama queen, immediately frowns and literally cradles your face with his entire body.

• "baaaaabe, why didn't you tell me!?"

• from that point on, the cobra does anything and everything for you.

• wanna take your mind off the blues and play a video game? say less!! surely spence wouldn't mind if you guys used his gaming console!

• if you just wanna vent, mf is all ears. he's prone to getting distracted easily and verbally cutting someone off, but when it comes to you, his mouth is sewn shut!

• have the urge to rant about someone and get it off your chest? lucky for you, he's the go-to man!! he'd easily go off on that grime of a person with you! he's definitely gonna make a fool out of them later, with or without your knowledge.

• if all you need is a day-long cuddle session, he's got you all covered! just let him dial up spence real quick and boom! the mansion is all yours for the day while his cousin keeps the rest of the wrights at bay

• wouldn't be too keen on complete silence though, so expect him to hum a tune or fiddle with your hair/fingers

• all in all, you have his full undivided attention and he'll do whatever it takes to see you happy <3

• doesn't take long before "doctor billy" takes over, diagnosing you with a bad case of the cold as if you didn't already suspect that yourself. goofiness aside, he's gonna do the best he can to make you feel better! mans was really looking forward to hanging with you and it hurts him to see you not at your best :(

• feeling hot? say less! he will turn his arms into a fan and blow you away

• he's going to verbally consider plastering some ectoplasm on your forehead to cool you down. do NOT. i repeat, DO NOT let him do this unless you wanna ghostify yourself 💀

• cold? he's gotcha covered! he's going to steal blankets from the wrights and bring 'em to you.

• will rummage through your medicine cabinet, and cast any embarrassment aside 'cause he'll insist on spoon-feeding you your medication.

• very adamant on taking care of you and will not let you over-exert yourself. it's chaos if you're the type to get restless (having been in your bed for so long) and wanna get things done. be it college hw, work, or chores, he'll just escort you back to your bed (hilariously, by force if he has to).

• pull a trick on him by telling him to do stuff in another room, and it's only a matter of time before he catches you red-handed trying to leave your bed

"hey babe—whoa! no! you are NOT going anywhere!"

• personal hc incoming: he's a terrible cook. the cobra has never picked up a cooking utensil in his life! so when he tells you he's going to make you soup? INSTANT PANIC.

• you can try offering him some help, but don't be surprised when he lays you back down on your mattress. i'm telling you, it won't work. he's a man on a mission. nothing will stop him!

• he'll make a mess of your kitchen, obviously struggling, but you know he means well <3

• what he brings back isn't the most... tasteful dish. tbh it's hard to swallow whatever he's put in there with phlegm clogging your throat. you're over here on the verge of gagging and he's looking at you, eyes wide with anticipation.

"well? whaddya think? pretty good, huh?"

• please please PLEASE give him a smile + a thumbs up. for him! 😭

• eventually, sweet bby ends up craving your touch and he'll swoop right under the covers with you. to hell with feeling icky, he is needy!

• billy may get a little stir-crazy after a while, but he'll never leave you on your own. it's at times like these when his acts of service shine!

• will clean the mess he made and tidy up your home a tad. gives it a little bit of the "cobra touch" while he's at it too!

• getting tired comes by real easy, but actually getting some shut-eye while having your nose stuffed/throat sore is a bit of a challenge for some. fear not! billy's gonna do whatever it takes to get your mind off it!

• he does this cute little thing where he counts every pun on his fingers. he gets so in the zone that he's a little surprised when he turns to look at you and you're fast asleep. ofc, if you wanna stay up and join in on his little bro-fest, he's all ears!

• get into a coughing fit during all this and mans will go from giggling to screaming thinking you're dying 💀

• not in the mood? that's okay! he'll play some soft tunes on his guitar/keyboard to lull you to sleep, or generally as you sleep. he has no problem singing you to sleep either. in fact, it serves as a major boost to his ego when he's successfully gotten a few snores out of you!

• the guy is a music enthusiast through and through. for however long he's existed, billy's experimented with different styles of music.

• ranging from rock to pop, rap to jazz, he's definitely dabbled in a bit of everything and has partaken in some successful genre bending. so when it's all said and done, he respects the art!

• being that rock is a particular favourite of his, he's extremely familiar with the music you're fond of and even gives you some recommendations to expand your musical palette (despite most of the recs being his own songs 💀)

• if your favs were around when he was in his prime, he's for sure going to boast about how he met, hung out, and did collabs with them.

• multiple instances of you two jamming out to songs together! he loves music with guitars and drums that stand out and that enthusiasm carries into the way he plays along with his own instruments. if you play an instrument yourself, he'll let you borrow one of his, but whether you do or don't, it's an absolute bliss for him to see how 'into it' you get with major tuneage.

• for so long he's been referred to as this "golden artist" that he's started to associate and correlate his music's success with affirmation. with you there, however, he begins to shift perspective. it's a bittersweet snippet of realization among other things he's yet to fathom, but nevertheless his love for you continues to grow.

• he's still an attention hog, petty as ever, but that sour feeling from hearing other people's lyrics come out your mouth starts to dissipate—maybe not completely, but enough for him to feel comfortable listening to and appreciating music with someone else.

• it's pretty hilarious to see him slowly, but freely, begin to gush over other bands. billy may initiate a competition of sorts of who the "truest" fan really is between the both of you.

• he keeps your preference of genre in mind whenever he plays on that guitar of his around you. he just loves to see your head perk up with interest as you ask him what song he's playing. when he tells you that its all him and you give him a positive reaction in the form of a smile, a compliment, a headbang—anything! his heart just swells with love <3

• touch is, without a doubt, one of billy's main love languages! pretty ironic for a ghost, right?

• although you can't really "feel" him, you'll for sure feel that air pressure on you when he's being affectionate—which is basically a lot of the time.

• he was heavy on touch even before you two were a thing, but now that you're actually dating, it just heightens by 100%. he's developed this strong attachment to you that he's gonna cling to you both subconsciously and instinctively.

• very overwhelming at first tbh.

• when he's scared, he'll immediately wrap himself around your body snake-style. sad? he's going to latch on to you, begging to be held. even if there's nothing to trigger a reaction from him, expect him to frequently place his ghostly hands on your shoulders, place his arm around your shoulder, or wrap his arm around your waist. that, and he's a huge cuddle bug.

• even more ironically enough, bby's got a strong case of being touch-starved too! thing is, despite him not outwardly saying it (and him just not being aware of it) he's more in tune with how he feels about you that he bears no shame in being overly affectionate.

• accepting physical affection is gonna be quite the process, especially when your love is the billy joe cobra.

• if you need time to adjust, he's gonna try to dial it down, but as mentioned earlier—touching you is an instinct. it's hard for him, but he genuinely does try. he'll chuckle out a small "sorry" to compensate tho <3

• a tiny hc of mine is that billy knows how to ice skate and he does it pretty well!

• he's got a surprising knack for pickin' up on things while he's on tour (such as that time where he developed those killer chopstick skills). this time around, he's gotten to travel to some cold climates and after finding out what the whole fuss around ice skating was abt, he's definitely gonna wanna skate with you once he's back home.

• inform him that you've never ice skated before/weren't exactly the type to keep steady on your feet and omfg he's gonna get such a kick out of the thought that he's going to impress you with his "rad" skills 🥴

• renting a skating rink for the day is simple. getting ready and putting your guys' skates on? quick and easy! but after that?? you don't even have time to process wtf you're doing when billy practically drags you to the rink, your legs wobbling all over the place as you try to keep up with him. sure, his excitement is very endearing, but bro chill, PLEASE!!

• the second you step foot into the rink, it's game over.

• billy gets a little too carried away with wanting to show off that he immediately forgets to grab a hold of you.

• you're fighting for your life in that moment. wailing your arms, legs crissing-and-crossing, body twisting in ways that it shouldn't and he's all "hey babe, check me out!" as he's skating circles around you 😭

• you gotta let out a shriek/yelp of his name to snap him out of it and just as he turns his attention to you, you fall flat on your bum.

• the kind to say "uhh, what're you doing?" while you're sprawled out on the ice.

• idk cobra, what does it LOOK like 💀

• remind him again that you can't skate and his eyes will widen at the realization as he let's out a goofy "ohhh, right."

• he'll be a sweetheart and help you up but he's definitely gonna fool around in the process. he's gonna do that thing where, when he's close to getting you back on your feet, he'll pretend to let go and then hurriedly hold you before you can scream at him.

• he'll lightheartedly chuckle and you almost feel bad for frantically, but lightly, pounding your fist on his bicep.

• almost.

• "ice skating's a cinch! just do as i do, look."

• before he can even let go, you're clinging on to him as if your life depended on it. if you're going down, he's going down with you 💀

• tell him about your past and the cobra will be mad and sad for you all at once. he never really thought about it before, but being left behind by the people you thought cherished you sounds beyond terrifying to him and he can only imagine what you must feel.

• he's quick to tell you that you're 100x more than whatever those bozos were and assures you that he would never do the same thing they did. he means what he says, but sometimes, his words end up sounding a little more harsh than what he originally intended to get across.

"they were total d-bags anyway! if anything, it's good they left y—!"

• and there he goes, seemingly missing the point entirely. (we do not phrase the second half like that 💀)

• he knows he's screwed up once you look at him with a pained look in your eye and he immediately tries to backtrack and fix his mess-up.

• then, he's at a loss for words and doesn't really know what to say. he honestly feels really guilty and he can only sit next to you as none of you utter a thing.

• leave it to the cobra to get you and him back on your feet though! if there's anything he despises more, it's pessimism and gloom, especially when he's the one being a major kill-joy.

• that being said, billy places a firm—and a tad heavy—hand on your shoulder which catches you off guard. turn your head and you'll be faced with a beaming smile (it's blinding, even!)

• there he goes again, and atp, you're inclined to think he's not taking this seriously. you're more than ready to leave until he stands right in front of you, preventing you from going anywhere.

"c'mooon. look, you gotta recognize your own worth. show em all what you're made of! trust me, the cobra sees it in you. we just gotta get you to see it. now you're gonna need a shot of it—a lot of it actually. lucky for you, doctor billy is in!"

• and just like that, billy will take the 'love yourself' concept to extreme mode! he's gonna be super supportive <3

• any form of self-deprecation from you will be met with opposition, STAT. mf is going to be your no.1 hypeman fr!

• surprisingly, jammin' out to his music is a huge help and is something he loves to initiate! he loves doing this thing where he strums his guitar and has you repeating lyrics after him (many of them on the spot, specifically made for you). the fact that most of his songs are in first person gives you the chance to insert yourself into the music. plus, it gets you to smile!

• will spoil you rotten, regardless of what you say. for crying out loud, you're tight with the b joe co! it takes a special kind of person for that and he's only gonna want high level stuff for you!

• distancing yourself will be very difficult. wherever you go, he goes (unless his stardom doesn't allow for it like when he's on tour).

• it's at times like these where you're more likely to overthink, but rest assured, billy plans on keeping a stable connection with you through call!

• act differently around him in the hopes that he sticks around longer and he WILL notice and WILL call you out on it. this isn't you and he's not gonna wanna play dumb. he won't just "stick" around—he doesn't like it when you put it that way—and he'll clarify that he just likes being with you, the real you.

• for as much as billy gets sidetracked with other things, he genuinely does care about you and feels terrible when he realizes that he’s been getting too carried away with stuff. out of everything, you’re one of the only constants in his life and he is willing to pull out every trick in the book to help you feel less alone and loved <3

• if you need words of affirmation, he'll do it in a heartbeat, but he does get kind of hurt that you would ever think that way of him—that he'd leave ever you. throughout his life he's been a dick, sure, and he still may be a jackass, but ever since you came along, you've influenced him for the better, which is something you may not always realize.

• remember his pet crocodile, wendy? i love the theory that he never even had a crocodile, but a dwarf caiman (scientific name: p. palpeBROsus) as supported by the details in the ep 'where's wendy'. bby's a dumbass, but honestly, i can’t blame him on this one. imagine he just walks up to you, holding this wild animal like some newborn child, and is all, "hey babe, check it! isn't my princess just adorable? goochie-goochie goo! yes you are. yes you are!"

• it's canon that he rarely called people by their own name when he was a star, and i hc that billy uses your name more than he does petnames. the occasional 'babe' is used, but other than that, it's your name. he, on the other hand, loves being called petnames! throw in his real name when you two are having a moment and mf becomes all putty in your hands <3

• billy will still have to participate in some PR stunts with other celebrities. you tease him about it, and there'll be times when he'll also be in on the teasing to get a reaction from you, but jokes aside, he's there to remind you that it's all for show and that none of that is real. he will definitely make it up to you via vigorous attacks of hugs and kisses.

• because of this secrecy (and your daily work/academic schedule), you're sometimes not allowed to go on tours with the cobra, but god save the ppl on his tour bus bc he will be on call with you hours upon hours chatting up a storm. he takes his phone everywhere he goes until it's time to actually perform.

• if his concert is being broadcasted, he's for sure going to do that thing where he looks straight into the main camera when he sings bits of his songs. he's done that before, but it just intensifies now that he's with you.

• his trust in you is high, maybe even foolishly so.

• doesn't mean you guys can't fool around with some of his stuff! in fact, he encourages you to partake in some hijinks with him. whether it be pulling pranks on the wright family or making a mess of the tiki room, he's all down to do fun shit with you!
