Billy Baldwin Bashes RFK Jr.’s ‘Political Cowardice’ for Endorsing Trump

Actor Billy Baldwin has ripped into Robert F. Kennedy Jr., criticizing him for what he called “a cynical, hypocritical betrayal” of his political values after the former presidential candidate brought his campaign to an ignominious end and endorsed Donald Trump.

Baldwin, 61, the younger sibling of Alec Baldwin, said in a lengthy X post on Sunday evening that he’d known Kennedy, 70, for decades. They have been photographed together over the years: Baldwin was spotted alongside Kennedy and daughter Kyra LeMoyne Kennedy at Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Thomas’ wedding ceremony in New York City in 2012.

This was the cover of the 2001 Sotheby’s catalog of the sale of the contents of the house- a rare look at exactly what we see when we enter the gate, including the famous orange trees, with their limed trunks, which caused a sensation when they were first seen here. According to a 2001 New York Times article: “ Sotheby's is promoting the furnishings (estimated at $2.5 million to $3.5 million) as artifacts from a golden age of style. ''Let us remember that objects have lives of their own,'' a New York antiques dealer, R. Louis Bofferding, wrote in the catalog, ''and these particular favored few invoke the great American triumvirate Billy Baldwin, Mary Wells and Harding Lawrence that dared to undertake a reinvention of a revered house and succeeded dazzlingly.'' The Lawrences are bemused. ''The huckster in me has to respect how Sotheby's has marketed this sale,'' Mrs. Lawrence said. ''When you think about it, so much of what is in the sale is just upholstered furniture. Some of it we bought from Lady Kenmare, who is probably buried in one of those sofas.'' Thanks so much @johnyunis . Another thought for the new year – This is one of the courtyards of La Fiorentina in Cap Ferrat, as it looked when it was owned by the Harding Lawrences. Through the French doors straight ahead is the famous Billy Baldwin-designed blue-and-white living room, and, if we look at the center doors carefully, we can see the wide open view on the other side of the room, toward the Bay of Beaulieu and the mountains beyond. We last saw this house in 2015. It’s such a wonderful house – might be worth seeing again.
