Modena: il Parco XII Aprile nel segno della riqualificazione

Modena: il Parco XII Aprile nel segno della riqualificazione. Dal nuovo biomarket, la piattaforma attrezzata per mercati all'aperto già pronta, fino all'area dell'anfiteatro in corso d'opera che, oltre al rifacimento di gradinate e pavimentazioni, è stata migliorata rispetto al progetto iniziale per ottenere un campo adatto a più attività sportive; il tutto camminando lungo i percorsi, rinnovati anche negli arredi, che costeggiano le antiche vasche e il settecentesco Arco d'ingresso al parco. Insieme al potenziamento dell'impianto di videosorveglianza, per altro esteso fino a strada Nonantolana e alle scuole Collodi, e all'adeguamento illuminotecnico per migliorare la fruizione dell'area, sono gli interventi per la riqualificazione del Parco XXII Aprile condotti dall'amministrazione comunale modenese grazie a risorse assegnate tramite i fondi Pinqua, il Programma innovativo nazionale per la qualità dell'abitare finanziato dal Pnrr e sviluppato dal Comune con il programma Next Generation Modena. I quattro interventi condotti al Parco XXII Aprile rientrano, infatti, tra i 13 del progetto "Modena. Abitare dopo la pandemia: la città nel quartiere", volto a rigenerare un'ampia fascia urbana compresa tra i comparti Nonantolana, ex Consorzio agrario ed ex Mercato bestiame per un valore complessivo intorno ai 40 milioni di euro, con finanziamenti del Pinqua per 14,3 milioni e la quota rimanente coperta da risorse comunali e contributi di soggetti pubblici e privati. In particolare, ammontano a 1 milione e 120 mila euro i costi dei tre interventi già completati e di quello in corso di attuazione (presso l'area dell'anfiteatro) al parco XXII Aprile che il sindaco Gian Carlo Muzzarelli, la direttrice Valeria Meloncelli, l'assessora allo Sport Grazia Baracchi e il presidente del Quartiere 2 Giovanni Gobbi hanno visitato. Con loro, oltre a tecnici comunali di Direzione generale, Ufficio Legalità e Sicurezze, Settore Sport e Settore Lavori Pubblici, anche diversi rappresentanti di associazionismo e Terzo settore attivi nell'area, che saranno ulteriormente coinvolti non solo in attività di animazione, ma anche nella gestione del biomarket, attraverso un progetto di gestione che sarà definito, in via sperimentale, nelle prossime settimane. Il mercato all'aperto realizzato per un spesa complessiva di 294mila euro quasi interamente coperta da fondi Pnrr (4.500 euro il finanziamento comunale) è un'infrastruttura molto versatile che potrà essere utilizzata anche per un mercatino biologico. Si trova, infatti, in una zona di collegamento tra il parco XXII Aprile e l'area di via Nonantolana destinata a essere densamente abitata con la realizzazione degli oltre 70 nuovi alloggi Acer in corso. Su un percorso ciclabile e pedonale centrale, in continuità con quelli esistenti nel parco e in linea col pedonale che unisce l'incrocio delle vie Cerretti e Spaccini, sono state create 15 piazzole, dotate di torrette di allaccio elettrico e collegate anche da un percorso secondario, tutte con pavimentazioni drenanti al 100 per cento ed ecocompatibili. L'area è inoltre videosorvegliata, appositamente illuminata e arricchita nella vegetazione con circa 240 metri quadrati di aiuole piantumate a specie arboree e arbusti. Un secondo intervento, per una spesa di complessivi 370mila euro (completamente finanziato con fondi Pnrr) riguarda il rifacimento di pavimentazione e infrastrutture del percorso principale e l'area dell'anfiteatro. Il rifacimento di pavimentazioni, aiuole, sedute e gradinate ha interessato il percorso interno sull'asse nord-sud, adiacente al lagocanale, compreso tra via Attiraglio e l'anfiteatro. Qui è in corso un intervento particolarmente significativo per poter offrire alla città un nuovo campo sportivo e un punto di aggregazione giovanile. Sarà, infatti, realizzato un campo multisport adatto alla pratica di diverse discipline e amanifestazioni. In particolare, nelle strutture dell'anfiteatro, delle aiuole e delle sedute in calcestruzzo armato sono state demolite le parti ammalorate, realizzato un lavoro di idropulizia e applicate sostanze che inibiscono l'ossidazione dei ferri, ricostruite e ripristinate le parti demolite, impermeabilizzate e protette con malta le superfici. Mentre sono in atto gli interventi per la riqualificazione del campo da basket: il nuovo campo sarà più ampio dell'attuale, avrà infatti le dimensioni totali di 30x18, regolamentari e potrà quindi essere utilizzato per manifestazioni sportive, oltre che per diverse discipline: pallavolo, calcetto, basket. Il tappetino in gomma colata in opera, oltre a un perfetto rimbalzo della palla, assicurerà resistenza agli agenti atmosferici ed elevata durabilità, mentre la pavimentazione antitrauma tra il campo sportivo e le gradonate migliorerà la sicurezza dell'intera infrastruttura. A trip to the bio market

In order to understand how the variety and the prices of products differ in markets that sell “bio” goods, we have made a trip to Färm in Leuven, to provide a basis for the analysis of how consumers' choices might be influenced by bio and organic labels and symbolically determine accessibility. Coupled with the findings from the interviews that we conducted with Belgian and international students alike, this provided us with an insight into how the labeling of a product as “bio” might inform consumers’ choices relating to their shopping habits.

Apart from the Nutri-Score scale, another indicator that can inform consumers about how healthy a product is is the “bio” or “organic” labels that can be found on the packaging of products. As one of our Belgian interviewees studying in Leuven remarked, the regulations that have to be followed in order for a product to earn the “bio/organic” label do not automatically imply that a product is healthier, as they are mostly legal regulations that have been imposed by the European Commission.

“The organic logo can only be used on products that have been certified as organic by an authorised control agency or body. This means that they have fulfilled strict conditions on how they must be produced, processed, transported and stored. The logo can only be used on products when they contain at least 95% organic ingredients and additionally respect further strict conditions for the remaining 5%. The same ingredient cannot be present in organic and non organic form.” [1]

As our interviewee stated: “The difference in price is not worth the difference in label and it doesn’t mean that the product is much healthier”. Especially in the case of students with limited financial means, the inclination to buy the cheaper product instead of the healthier option is more prevalent. An assumption shared by all is that the healthier the product is, the more expensive it is. The degree of the healthiness of a product is symbolized at face value in the packaging of the product, which might deter the consumer from even picking it up from the shelf if they are in a financially unfavorable situation.

In the same manner, seeing that a market only sells bio/organic products might discourage some consumers from even entering the store, as they assume that they might not be able to find any product that does not exceed their budget for grocery shopping. However, in our observation, we found that even though the market and the packaging of the products seem intimidating, in some cases some products are cheaper than the ones that can be found in more expensive markets such as Carrefour and Delhaize. It is mostly the fresh products that are more expensive than in regular markets, with packaged products being more expensive than in discount markets but cheaper than the ones we mentioned.

All in all, our conclusion is that the “bio/organic” label remains for most as a symbolic indicator of the healthiness of a product, and the attention given to the price outweighs that given to indicators of health. A consumer who is doing grocery shopping on a strict budget will not choose to go to a “bio/organic” market.

"It is a well-known fact that human eggs of white-skinned women are worth more than those with brown and black skin, hence, the entire baby business is based on racism and colonialism.

Racial prejudice is casually applied in the IVF procedure wherein an online donor selection based on desired phenotype is followed by request and subsequent gamete extraction from the specific selected donor. Dr. Richard Sherbahn, who founded the Advanced Fertility Center of Chicago in 1997, says that one couple recently came to him looking for “a thin, white woman with green eyes and wavy blond hair who stands between 5-feet-7 and 5-feet-8, has Swedish ancestry, played college-level athletics, holds a master’s degree at the very least, and registers a minimum 120 on an IQ test”.

In May 2013, a Delhi-based couple in their forties had twins through a surrogate mother, who carried an embryo created from the husband’s sperm and eggs from a Caucasian donor. “The husband is very fair and they wanted to have a fair child. We could not get an egg donor who could match the husband’s complexion and, hence, a Caucasian donor was selected,” said Dr. Duru Shah, who runs a private clinic at Peddar Road. It was revealed that “the donor is a student who wanted to fund her nursing course and so agreed”. Higher caste and fair skinned surrogate mothers have more choices of being recruited in clinics and can claim higher payments.

It is assumed that there is no genetic transfer in the gestation phase, hence, the surrogate mother’s role is commonly referred to as a “gestational mother”. However, medical science has brought to our knowledge that cells migrate during pregnancy and this exchange occurs not only from the mother to the fetus but also from the fetus to the mother. So babies and surrogate mothers exchange DNA (Deoxyribonucleic Acid) material during pregnancy.

In my meeting with Dr. Nisha, she told me that the surrogate mothers are well aware that the child does not belong to them and they only are renting their womb temporarily to another couple who would take the child(ren) that rightfully belong to them. She told me that the surrogate mothers only wanted the money and have no interest in the baby and don’t (want to) bond with the child. What I saw at the children’s hospital was a complete contradiction to what she had told me, the surrogate mother was playing and singing to the baby and even breastfeeding, and had named the baby too as if it was hers."

Time to end commercial surrogacy 

HYDERABAD: With more and more people in pop culture opting for and celebrating surrogacy, people have been growing more accepting of the practice. But very few know of all the things that go behind and into the process — right from conception to the paperwork involved — the lack of knowledge about this, leading to the rights of several people being violated, says Dr Sheela Suryanarayana, who spoke about her book A Transnational Feminist View of Surrogacy Biomarkets in India at Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad.

Surrogacy has been a curious case among many, with little to no understanding of the rules and pain that surrogates put themselves through once they agree to be a couple’s surrogate. Surrogacy is permitted in India only for altruistic purposes or for couples who suffer proven infertility or disease, while commercial surrogacy, which includes sale, prostitution or any other forms of exploitation, is banned in the country.Speaking about her research on commercial surrogacy, Dr Sheela says, “I have worked on this topic since 2009 and have spoken about it at the United Nations and Rajya Sabha and have now compiled my work into a book.

The book is about transnational surrogacy biomarket and how it functions in the global scenario. It talks about how the entire surrogacy biomarket reflects on the overall micro-level global inequality. It is largely the richer people making surrogate mothers of those from poorer countries as well as within their country. When commercial surrogacy was banned in India, Mexico and Nepal, the practice moved to other low-income countries like South Africa and other nations in South America and South East Asia.

There is a clear global pattern of how these surrogate markets are moving, looking for countries where poorer women are willing to do it for a lower price and lesser rights on their bodies and children. The vulnerability of surrogate mothers because they belong to the poorer section, less educated women, lesser employment opportunities and lesser nutrition makes them more liable to maternal morbidity and mortality. The profits share goes to the medical professionals instead of the surrogate mothers.”

She adds that when commercial surrogacy was allowed in India, women were put in surrogate hostels where they had to remain for a complete year. “Some breastfeeding mothers came in too, so they were given injections to dry the milk up or alter the hormones that could allow them to carry a baby,” she laments.

Talking about her book, Dr Sheela shares that her study dates back to 2009 when she intensely followed 11 surrogate mothers throughout the process. “The book is a case study of these mothers and five intended parents I met. The concept I focus on is the reproductive right of individuals being violated. I have known surrogate mothers who had their uterus removed because by they ended up bearing the brunt of big consequences like brain haemorrhage!”

She says that more and more women who belong to economically weaker communities, need to be aware of their rights: “The media, especially ones in vernacular languages can change this. They can spread awareness about the dangers and risks associated with surrogacy, while also speaking about their rights.”

Il parco XXII Aprile si rinnova: tra fine agosto e metà settembre partono quattro interventi per la riqualificazione dell'anfiteatro e dei percorsi adiacenti l'asse del lagocanale, per la realizzazione di un biomarket all'aperto, per l'adeguamento illuminotecnico e per il potenziamento della videosorveglianza a integrazione del sistema cittadino che interesserà anche tutta la zona circostante. Gli interventi, per un valore complessivo di circa 1 milione 160 mila euro, richiederanno alcuni mesi di lavoro e sono finanziati con risorse assegnate nell'ambito del Pinqua, il Programma innovativo nazionale per la qualità dell'abitare che ha finanziamenti dal Pnrr (il Piano nazionale di ripresa e resilienza) ed è stato sviluppato dal Comune con il programma Next Generation Modena. Questi lavori, infatti, rientrano tra i 13 interventi del progetto "Modena. Abitare dopo la pandemia: la città nel quartiere", volto a rigenerare un'ampia fascia urbana compresa tra il comparto Nonantolana, il comparto ex Consorzio agrario, il comparto ex Mercato bestiame con via Finzi e la tangenziale nell'area nord di Modena, per un valore complessivo che, considerati gli aumenti dei costi delle materie prime, è ormai intorno ai 40 milioni di euro: i finanziamenti del Pinqua arrivano a 14,3 milioni di euro, e la quota rimanente è coperta da risorse comunali e contributi di soggetti pubblici e privati. Il rinnovo dell'anfiteatro e dei percorsi del parco, per un valore di 370 mila euro, prevede la riqualificazione delle infrastrutture (pavimentazioni, aiuole, sedute e gradinate) del percorso principale interno al parco sull'asse nord-sud, adiacente al lagocanale e compreso tra l'anfiteatro e via Attiraglio. In particolare, per le strutture dell'anfiteatro, delle aiuole e delle sedute in calcestruzzo armato, realizzate circa 40 anni fa, è prevista la demolizione delle parti ammalorate, l'idropulizia, l'applicazione di sostanze che inibiscono l'ossidazione dei ferri, la ricostruzione delle parti demolite, oltre all'impermeabilizzazione e protezione finale delle superfici. Per le pavimentazioni dei percorsi in calcestruzzo e asfalto si procederà con la fresatura e demolizione della pavimentazione ammalorata per poi posare nuova pavimentazione in calcestruzzo e nuovo manto di usura in asfalto. All'anfiteatro sarà inoltre ripavimentato il campetto basket con una nuova pavimentazione in caucciù autodrenante riciclato e riciclabile. All'interno del parco è inoltre prevista la sistemazione di un'area da destinare a mercato all'aperto di prodotti biologici e a chilometro zero, disposta in linea sul pedonale che unisce l'incrocio delle vie Cerretti e Spaccini, per un valore di oltre 350 mila euro. Tutto il percorso, per la parte già esistente in battuto di cemento, verrà realizzato con pavimentazione in autobloccante e, vista la larghezza di 3 metri, potrà essere utilizzato per il transito ciclabile nel parco. Le aree che ospiteranno le piazzole per la vendita dei prodotti saranno pavimentate con materiale ecologico drenante di tonalità diverse, per marcare visivamente la differenza e funzionalità degli spazi confinanti. A servizio delle piazzole verranno collocate alcune colonnine per la fornitura di energia elettrica e acqua. Nell'area del parco sarà inoltre effettuato un intervento di rifacimento e potenziamento dell'illuminazione pubblica (per un valore di 288 mila euro), in modo da migliorare le condizioni di sicurezza e valorizzarlo, rendendolo più accogliente, funzionale e capace di ospitare manifestazioni culturali, concerti e spettacoli all'aperto, fiere gastronomiche e altre iniziative di richiamo. In particolare, i nuovi corpi illuminanti, tra sostituzioni di quelli presenti e nuove installazioni, saranno 81, con sorgente luminosa a led di due diverse tipologie per le differenti necessità di illuminazione a seconda della maggiore o minore presenza di verde. Nelle zone di ingresso del parco sarà posizionata luce sia su piano orizzontali che verticali; in corrispondenza di alberi sarà preferita l'illuminazione dal basso, per rendere attraente lo spazio verde attraverso effetti scenografici. Il parco e le aree limitrofe saranno, inoltre, interessate dal potenziamento dell'impianto di videosorveglianza (per circa 150 mila euro) con l'installazione di 23 telecamere, di cui 16 di tipologia brandeggiabili, due a singola ottica fissa, tre multi-ottica con visione fissa a 360 gradi e due per il controllo delle targhe. L'intervento va a implementare il sistema di videosorveglianza cittadino integrato con le sale operative delle Forze dell'Ordine e della Polizia locale già presente nell'area. Oltre al parco stesso e all'accesso al parco da via Donati, le nuove telecamere saranno installate nelle zone della scuola primaria Collodi, del parcheggio antistante l'istituto e le attività commerciali, del supermercato Eurospar, dell'ingresso di via Due Canali da strada Nonantolana, del parcheggio ai piedi del cavalcavia Mazzoni – zona Darsena, dell'incrocio tra strada Attiraglio – via Spaccini, della rotatoria di viale Gramsci e del campo sportivo di via Donati.... #notizie #news #breakingnews #cronaca #politica #eventi #sport #moda Read the full article
