especially during pride biphobia is still extremely pervasive even if unintentional. the vitrol towards bi women in particular is constant despite the claims that the hate is for "cishet boyfriends". the venom is all reserved for bi women. the immediate automatic assumption that their partners are cis, het, or men at all happens regardless of reality as some imagined stereotype of an acceptable target. bi men never get this kind of constant criticism and neither does anyone who identifies as "pan". when bi women are abused people immediately blame the victim rather than the perpetrator. in other circumstances allies have always been welcomed at pride and people are far more welcoming to non-lgbt microlabels than bi women with an imaginary boyfriend. a demiromantic cishet is welcomed while bi women are despised in the same breath.
It's the misogyny combined with the biphobia. Acting like all bi women are penis obsessed lesbophobes with no respect for lgbt spaces and wanting to bring their cishet boyfriends everywhere is not just biphobia, it's flat out misogyny too.
I think the stereotypes that bisexuals are cheaters/untrustworthy & women are catty/liars combine and amplify each other.
I find it extremely disappointing when people criticize bi women and just start saying the most sexist shit. There are valid criticisms to be made and that do need to be made, because there are problems within the bi community! But pushing bi women out of lgbt spaces/acting like they're a blight on the community/perpetuating grossly misogynist and biophobic stereotypes is not the way to make those criticisms, that just makes you a piece of shit.

There is no such thing as a partial liberation. No one can be “economically free” while sexually repressed and bifurcated; no one can be “sexually liberated” while an economic slave. No one can enjoy “mental freedom” while the body’s labor and sexuality are exploited and conditioned by oppression. And if we pretend that we can “free our spirits” while the bodies, minds, and emotions of humanity are still straightened by biophobic and exploitive sexual, social, and economic ideologies, we delude ourselves. Freedom is all or nothing. And there is no freedom for males, of any class or color or ethnic group, while the female remains unfree.”

Blog intro!
About me:
Hello! I am Lark. I am non-binary and autistic, and I feel like my autism definitely affects and influences being non-binary. I am also bisexual and have no patience for biphobes. I rely on tone tags and have a difficult time reading between the lines and understand deeper meanings because of my autism/adhd. So please clarify and be patient. I also hate TME/TMA or afab/amab. Yall are just inventing new binaries, leave me alone.

🚙 the one thing i will never do in roleplay
⭐️ my roleplay pet peeves
🍪 my favorite roleplay memory
🚙: blatantly shit on the other’s character. I’m happy to do some angst, hatred, and arguments. I love me stuff like that. 100% down for our characters to beat the shit out of each other if someone wanted. But like not in a way that just shits all over the person’s character I’m playing with.
⭐️: not communicating. Assuming my character(Jiraiya) is going to SA yours. Insisting we take a plot a certain way without really my agreement to it(i guess sorta like godmodding but more plot than character). A really short reply to a long detailed one(while not matching length is aokay im fine with that it just feels like they arent invested when they do like a single paragraph to a milti paragraph like bro just say you want to drop the thread. Otherwise it just feels like I’m a bother not a mutual). Stuff like that annoys me. Edit to add telling me jir can’t have male and female partners because its “out of character for him to be bi/gay) like just say ur biophobic to my face sweetie ❤️
🍪: all the unexpected ships. I can’t believe how many of y’all wanna bone Jiraiya. 😳 I can’t think of a particular thread rn they’re all really fun and challenge my characterization of Jiraiya in different ways. All of which I enjoy.

I’m not sure if you remember me but I’m a biophobe anon you spoke to quite a bit and got angry with a few months back. I’m with a bi person of the opposite sex now. I harbor the same biases as before plus a lot fears about STDs but I’ve never had a partner who sees the world the same way I do so I’m trying to ignore it. I still can’t afford therapy and I’m not asking for advice. I just wanted to tell you.

Life's a journey, I guess.

I know one of the mutuals of this person who is accusing you about these things, likes to like biophobic and transphobic tweets, and also she believes a lot in radfem culture. I never liked how she pushed the take on: Mikasa being a sub in fanfics was misogynistic.
OOP! shitty people keep shitty company what can I say!
anyway I’ll give myself today to blow off steam and I’ll be moving on tomorrow ❤️

I feel like the internet goes through these cycles and waves of lesbiphobia fueled solely by fetishization and these fantasy expectations of wlw relationships.
I admit I haven't always had the best tact myself when discussing these issues but it's hard to find the words to better communicate the specific problems you end up having being a lesbian dating non-lesbian when bisexuals will just dog pile you over it. Certainly not all, maybe not even most, but too many.
And just throwing this out there, one of these girls I had a brief meaningless fling with who chewed me out for being "biophobic" drunkenly messaged me a few weeks ago real upset that her one special Sapphic sexual experience she's managed to have is now ruined forever because people are going to call her transphobic if she reminds everyone she slept with me "while I was a woman."
Like yeah bitch, people tend to call people being transphobic, transphobic. Sleeping is with me isn't an accomplishment regardless, I have no self respect.

the concept of kaylon octillion (rn, i'm only on 2x10 so she will def change as i watch more) basically is that shes a kaylon who studies biologicals from a distance and becomes fascinated with them but in a study-like-a-bug way (unlike isaac, who does care for them in his own little positive ways). she shares the feelings primary has towards biologicals because of their violent history, but also she sees a value in studying them that primary never could, a value rooted in wanting to understand biological culture and how the builders came to be quite so evil so she can understand the best way to defeat them, but still lol. she was one of the last kaylon to be built before the builders were all killed. she chooses to align herself with the concept of humanoid gender and primary is a bit biophobic about it at first but is eventually like fine you can be the special gendered kaylon i dont give a fuck i have a planet to expand just get out of my way. and then they merge hand wires

'Bio-liminal' (Dama, 2022)
Since my first 2 years of study I have been developing an emerging theory of how to address our broader environmental crisis through the arts. Insect populations, in the context of my current PhD research, act as a case study to probe at the potentiality of new emotional and subjective networks to reimagine our natural world.
The aim of 'bio-liminal' (Dama, 2022) spaces is to disrupt the ideological framework in which we are socialised to symbolically fictionalise nature and emotional parallax with different species within it. This uses Lacanian and Freudian psychoanalytical theory to reframe and further distort the space between biophilia/biophobia - feeling/reality - subject/object.
This is currently being explored through 3 ongoing animated practice pieces researching the various ways in which the 'Bio-liminal' (ibid) could emerge. The majority goal is to determine how meaning can be suspended from matter, using the symbolic fiction of cinema as a sandpit for these experiments.
The first piece is 'Domestect' a cyclic loop of mundane domestica between a wife and her beetle husband (image 1) using both film and 3D animation.
Tumblr media
(image 1: Domestect, dir. Occulta Dama 2024)
The 2nd project is a stop motion peice entitled 'Transverse Orientation'. A sympathetic stop motion from the perspective of a moth, which aims to merge both biophilic/biophobic and adult/child approaches to insects in cinema. Development puppet below (image 2)
Tumblr media
(image 2, Transverse Orientation puppet, Occulta Dama 2024)
And finally the film & stop motion animation 'Kafka's Nightmare'. A continuation of Kafka's novella 'The Metamorphosis', that poses what the afterlife would look like through Gregor Samsa's eye, a sympathetic cockroach/human hybrid. See insect puppet below (image 3)
Tumblr media
(image 3, Gregor Samsa puppet, Occulta Dama 2024)
The combination of these projects accounts for a variety of different algorithms the 'bio-liminal' (ibid) could be arranged; Human Perspective (Domestect) insect perspective (Transverse Orientation) and both (Kafka's Nightmare). Whilst combining and borrowing from different recognisable tropes in genre, targeted demographics, artistic & technical approach as a means to disrupt our subjective constructs of insects.
Follows up to each project will follow as they enter production.

Osmos feels so natural and enjoyable to play, even when the difficulty ramps up and you find yourself repeatedly careening into a giant gaseous enemy.” - Wired “The first proper breakout hit for the iPad. “What iPad Gaming Should Be All About” - Gizmodo You just won’t find another experience quite like it.” - Slide To Play An utterly serene, yet fiendishly complicated game that deserves a place in every iPad owners collection.” - MacWorldĤ/4, Must Have - “We are more than overwhelmed by Osmos for iPad… The game design is thoughtful and intuitive, new level structures are flawless, and the visuals are stunning yet simplistic… every iPad owner should have Osmos on their device. “a beautiful, absorbing experience." - IGNĥ/5 - Macworld Editor’s Choice - “One of the best games we’ve played so far this year. * 6 distinct Arenas: Ambient, Impasse, Solar, Warped Chaos, Epicycles, and introducing… Antimatter Impasse. * Play against your friends and enemies, locally (via wi-fi), or over the Internet. * 13 single-player and 15 multiplayer achievements. * Confront four distinct AI opponents: the Ovarium, the Biophobe, the Nemocyte… and the deadly Ferax. * Time-warping: slow down the flow of time to outmaneuver agile opponents speed it up to raise the challenge. * Seamlesss multitouch controls: swipe to warp time, tap anywhere to eject mass, pinch to zoom… * Endless replay value: play random versions of any level in Arcade mode. * Award-winning electronic soundtrack by Loscil, Gas, High Skies, Biosphere, Julien Neto, and more. * 72 levels spanning 8 distinct worlds: Ambient, Antimatter, Solar, Sentient, Repulsor, Impasse, Warped Chaos, and Epicycles. * Many top lists including Kotaku, PAX, TouchArcade, iLounge, APPera, IFC, and more. * Most Innovative Game - Best App Ever Awards, Pocket Gamer * Vision Award - Independent Games Festival * Editor's Choice - Wired, Macworld, IGN, GameTunnel, and more. * Game of the Year - Create Digital Music * Apple Design Award winner (iPad version) * "iPad Game of the Year" and "iPhone App of the Week" - Apple “Whether you're a child at heart who likes mucking about with single-cell organisms, or a strategist with a physics degree, this game will appeal to everyone.” - App Store review A combination of physics, survival and classic eat em up” - WeDoCode “Named as iPad Game of the Year for a reason, Osmos is a fantastic game. From this delicate balance, Osmos leads the player through floating playgrounds, competitive petri dishes, deep solar systems, and more. You must grow by absorbing smaller motes, but to propel yourself you must eject matter behind you, causing you to shrink. “The ultimate ambient experience” - Gizmodo Osmos features unique physics-based play, stellar graphics, and a hypnotic ambient soundtrack. To survive, absorb smaller organisms and grow-but beware of larger predators. ** Apple Design Award winner and iPad Game of the Year! **Įnter the Darwinian world of a galactic mote. Osmos avoids the trap of self-indulgent gameplay that plagues so many other Indie titles and if you're after something unique and relaxing to enjoy, this is the title for you. Better yet, each of the game's eight modes feel great to play and run the gamut from relaxing to aggressive styles. What truly brings Osmos together is its unique artistic charm, from the blobs that look like organic galaxies to the music that lazily drifts along until you speed up or slow down, shifting the pitch and speed in turn. Time can also be controlled with a swipe of the finger, speeding up to allow for control without using too much mass or slowing down when you've accidentally flung yourself around a gravity well and picked up too much speed. Fire off more and you'll move faster, but beware of careening in to larger blobs as you'll be immediately absorbed. By tapping the screen you unleash a small percent of your mass which in this weightless friction-free environment means you'll start traveling in the opposite direction, albeit slowly. Osmos is an elegantly simple title to get in to, with 27 missions to introduce new players to each of the game's different modes and concepts. In the Blobiverse, Newton's laws are king and you'll need to exploit your ability to fire bits of yourself in order to absorb smaller life-forms until you're the largest around. Osmos by Hemisphere Games isn't your typical physics based game and after a brief stint on the iPad, iPhone owners can also check out this simple and absorbing title.
