So one of my cats is just. Dead. I hadn’t seen him in a while, but he’s a cat & sometimes he sneaks out. All the dogs we have, they like to hang half out the door to the backyard when I let them outside to pee, & sometimes the cats make a break for it. So I thought that might’ve been what happened, but he always comes back. So I was waiting. I left out food & water, & an open window.

But he was under the master bed, it would seem. I don’t know what happened, I just happened to take the bed apart to move it a little because it’s so heavy & found him there.

I have to. Take care of this. I always do when it’s this sort of thing. I’m the one who isn’t squeamish, after all. Dirty jobs are my jobs. But he was my cat, too. So I can’t do it right now.

There is the occasional exception, such as this story by @call-me-miss-biskitty, and this one by @mercurygray (which really took me surprise with how effective it is). Mercurygray also has a great Mercy Street AU set in 1920s Chicago, but I’ve been unable to dig it up.

Auch in der vierten Staffel der VOX-Erfolgsshow “Die Höhle der Löwen” wittert die Jury wieder fette Beute. Auf den Löwensesseln nehmen in diesem Jahr wieder Frank Thelen, Judith Williams, Ralf Dümmel und Carsten Maschmeyer Platz. Neu im Reigen der Fernsehraubtiere ist Politikerin und Unternehmerin Dagmar Wöhrl. Zudem nimmt in einigen Folgen der ehemalige Medienmacher Georg Kofler als Ersatz für Dauerlöwin Williams, die während der Dreharbeiten erkrankte, auf einem der Löwensessel Platz. Die Erwartungen an die neuen und alten Löwen sind hoch! In der dritten Staffel investierten die Löwen in 34 Deals publikumswirksam rund 6,61 Millionen Euro. Nicht immer kommen zwar alle Deals nach der Show zustande (2016 waren es über 10), dennoch war dies im Vergleich zu den Vorjahren ein deutlicher Sprung nach vorne. In der zweiten Staffel gab es im TV 21 Deals und eine (geplante) Investmentsumme in Höhe von 3,195 Millionen Euro. 15 Deals platzten dann aber. In der ersten Staffel platzten von 16 geplanten Deals (1,87 Millionen Euro Investmentsumme) gleich 11. Hier entlang zur Deal-Übersicht für die vierte Staffel. Nun aber wieder schnell rein in die Löwengrube. Hier die Start-ups der aktuellen Folge, die um 20:15 Uhr bei VOX über den Bildschirm geht. Too Good To GoIhre Mission: die Lebensmittelverschwendung in Gastronomie-Betrieben zu reduzieren. Jedes Jahr landen allein in Deutschland 18 Millionen Tonnen Lebensmittel auf dem Müll. Nicht weil diese schlecht sind, sondern weil sie am nächsten Tag nicht mehr verkauft werden dürfen. Ein Umstand, den die deutsch-dänischen Gründer von Too Good To Go nicht hinnehmen wollten. Peter Wiedeking (45), Julian Stützer (31), Thomas Björn Momsen (25), Klaus Pedersen (26) und Stian Olesen (29) haben eine App entwickelt, in der man in Restaurants vergünstigtes Essen kaufen kann, welches sonst entsorgt werden müsste. Um ihr Konzept weiter auszubauen, brauchen die Gründer von Too Good To Go die Hilfe der „Löwen“. Das deutsch-dänische Start-up benötigt die stolze Summe von 1.000.000 Euro und würde fünf Prozent seiner Firmenanteile abgeben. Welcher „Löwe” lässt sich auf diesen Deal ein? Blinkerhandschuh Der Ruhestand ist für Harald Gerhard (69) keine Option! Als er eines Abends mit seinem Fahrrad fast verunglückte, weil ein Auto ihn übersah, kam ihm die Idee: Der „Blinkerhandschuh“! Harald Gerhard tüftelte über drei Jahre an den Handschuhen, deren Zeigefinger bei Bedarf blinken und so den Fahrrichtungswinkel anzeigen. Doch nicht für Fahrradfahrer ist der „Blinkerhandschuh” geeignet, auch Schulkinder, Inliner- oder Skateboardfahrer gehören zur Zielgruppe von Harald Gerhard. Nun will der Ingenieur getreu seinem Motto „Blinker an der Hand – Gefahr gebannt” in die Massenproduktion gehen und sucht ein Investment in Höhe von 80.000 Euro und bietet dafür 20 Prozent seiner Firmenanteile an. Wird der 69-Jährige einen „Löwen“ von dem Nutzen des Produkts überzeugen? Sqyle „Investorensuche ist auch ein bisschen wie die Partnerschaftssuche”, so Wanda Egger (43) vor ihrem Pitch: „Ich bin sehr gespannt, was die ‚Löwen‘ von meinem Produkt halten.” Dating-Apps gibt es viele, aber die gebürtige Französin möchte mit Sqyle die deutsche und europäische Datingszene revolutionieren. Wanda legt besonders Wert auf Exklusivität, denn nur die Mitglieder entscheiden, wer die nächsten Mitglieder der Community werden. „Aber das ist nur der Anfang. Die App ist die Tür zu einer ganzen Welt von Dienstleistungen, um Dates schöner und bequemer zu machen”, erklärt die Gründerin von Sqyle. Wird einer der „Löwen” für 10 Prozent Firmenanteile 120.000 Euro in eine Dating-App investieren? IntHim Für viele Menschen ist es ein Tabuthema, für Francesco Indirli (33) ein Geschäftsmodell: die männliche Intimpflege. Der Italiener hat die Pflegelinie „IntHim“ speziell für den Intimbereich des Mannes entwickelt. Für Frauen sind Intim-Pflegeprodukte schon im Alltag angekommen, bei Männern sieht es allerdings etwas anders aus. Der gelernte Eventveranstalter ist sich sicher, eine Marktlücke mit „IntHim“ entdeckt zu haben. Nach dreijähriger Entwicklungszeit bietet er eine Waschlotion und das Comfort-Gel an – vollgepackt mit hochwertigen, effektiven und natürlichen Inhaltsstoffen, die den männlichen Intimbereich pflegen und erfrischen sollen. Für ein größeres Vertriebsnetzwerk sucht Francesco nun einen strategischen Partner und bietet den „Löwen“ 20 Prozent der Firmenanteile für 100.000 Euro. Ist Intimpflege für Männer ein Investment für die „Löwen“? Biskitty Das Credo von Flavio Cuoni (33) und Othmar Müller (40) lautet: „Sags mit Torten statt mit Worten.“ Und damit die Torte wieder das Highlight auf jeder Kaffee-Tafel ist, haben sie den weltweit ersten 3D-Tortenkonfigurator entwickelt. Über die Website von Biskitty kann der Interessent individuell seine Wunschtorte kreieren: Durchmesser, Geschmack, Farbe, Muster sowie Verzierung und Topper. Kühlelemente in der Verpackung sorgen dafür, dass die Torte frisch zum Wunschtermin beim Empfänger ankommt. Um ihr Geschäft weiter auszubauen, benötigen sie 100.000 Euro und bieten 25 Prozent an der neu zu gründenden GmbH an. Geschmacklich überzeugen die Torten, aber ist das auch ein Business-Case für die „Löwen”?
