In pokemon x persona

Adachi would be a dark (or bug type) user

Narukami would have normal type pokemon

Yosuke would have a multi type team ( frog theme)

Yukiko would be fire type

Chie fighting type

Naoto ice type

Kanji everyone thought would be electric type but surprisingly he has both fairy types and pink pokemon ( Kanji; what?! I look cute things do what!?)

Dojima would have rock type

Nanako would have the whole eeveelutions as her team

And teddie would have bear pokemon

I think it's so funny that you bring that up because I did a what-if persona users were pokemon trainer list years ago (before Scarlet and Violet even came out). I did the entire Arena Ultimax roster + Fuuka. It doesn't contain Dojima or Nanako because they are not persona users. Perhaps they could have something like a Bidoof as a pet, tho. Also, Kanji's cute pokémon is a pikachu that he evolved into a Raichu because he was bullied by the big competition trainer for wanting to be like Ash and not evolve it. My headcanon is that a lot of cuter pokemon are scared of him/don't want to be near him, and he attracts uglier pokemon, Raichu being his only cute one.

All the pokemon chosen are based on the characters' personality, persona, fighting style, and story/character arc. (You'll see that Junpei's team is a bit strange, but there's a good reason for a lot of those pokémon.) I did this list when I was extra fan of persona too, so I can't make a better one:

Bdubs: ✨ Scrafty

- Both enjoy fighting and look like they get beaten up often even if no fights happened that day.

- It’s a shiny because Shiny Scrafty’s green clothes (?) is reminiscent of Bdubs’ moss cape skin.

BigB: Breloom

- A kind being that should not be taken lightly.

- Also Breloom’s spores can paralyze or poison opponents, just like BigB paralyzed Grian with his gaslighting and can easily poison others by lying.

Cleo: Delphox

- Arson fox that is super effective against Etho’s pokemon and BigB’s.

-Also a reference to Witchcraft!SMP where she was one of the finalists. Plus Orange hair so Orange pokemon.

Etho: Bisharp

- Etho reminds me so much of the Shadow Triad so I decided to give him their titular Pokemon.

- I considered Greninja but as a redstoner, Etho might not appreciate the water.

- Plus it’s funny when the two scary looking beings are actually the most easily frightened.

- Fun fact, Bisharp hasn’t battled in so long that its blades have almost become dull (both are washed up /j).

Geminitay: Bewear

- In Limited Life she acts like a mama bear towards Scar.

- Is overall very friendly but is a menace (especially towards Etho).

- Now that she’s in Secret Life, Bewear works well with the cherry blossom and band theme she has going on.

- Plus, just like Bewear accidentally harms others by trying to show affection, Gem hurts herself and her allies by creating other alliances that don’t last.

Grian: Archeops

- Pesky bird.

- I put Toucannon at first and almost put Honchkrow but both look too serious to be associated with Grian.

- So goofy prehistoric parrot that is easily demotivated (defeatist ability) for the button man.

Impulse: Ampharos

- The yellow color scheme as well as the fact that Impulse is generally more on the kind, gentle side but is also able to hold his own.

Jimmy: Kilowatrel

- Canary in a coal mine.

- Kilowatrel is one of the best yellow bird Pokemon that isn’t too mocking ( Yellow Oricorio) or too serious ( Pidgeoto/Blaziken/ shiny Sirfetch’d).

- The pre-evolution looks a bit silly tho.

Joel: ✨Turtonator

- An explosive fella.

- Also a Pokemon that serve as a reminder that most of Joel’s trap/plan either don’t work or backfire on him or his allies.

- Shiny Turtonator because the shiny colors match Joel’s Green and yellow color scheme.

Lizzie: Togekiss

- Avoids conflict and is generally content with roaming around, peacefully picking flowers. Head in the clouds.

- But remains a strong and smart opponent that shouldn’t be underestimated.

Martyn: Trevenant

- A fierce and loyal protector of his home but still remains a solitary being.

- Trevenant’s ability to blend in with the surrounding trees in forest and gather information by communicating with the forest, is a nod to Martyn’s ability to sneak around undetected gathering valuable intel.

Mumbo: Sableye

- Hermit hiding away in the shadows (bunker) and using (end) crystals to attack.

Pearl: ✨ Absol

- Wherever they go, disaster soon follows. Seeing them is a warning to all.

- Shiny Absol because the colors matches with the ‘Scarlet Pearl’ skin.

Rendog: Sirfetch’d

- A king and a knight, unwilling to let go of their flair for the dramatics even after their kingdom as fallen. I thought of Kingambit or Aegislash but both are too serious and only fit 3rd Life Ren. Sirfetch’d is regal yet remains goofy like Ren.

Scar: Liepard

- Shady business man and his cat jellie. Both mischievous and not against stealing.

- Also it would be funny to picture all the Jellie interruptions as just him talking to his very real Pokemon partner.

- Jellie would definitely try to eat Grian’s Archeops.

Scott: ✨ Gallade

- Always honorable and upholding their end of the deal. But aren’t against using force to achieve what they want.

- Shiny so that the colors match ( also provides a good contrast to Pearl’s shiny Absol).

Skizzleman: Braviary

- A brave being that leads the team.

- All of Braviary’s dex entry mentions it battling for its friend even if it’s injured.

- The pokemon White dex entry mentions that the more scars a Braviary has, the more respect he’s has from his peers. Skizzleman’s skin has scars on its arms.

- Also Skizz is often represented with angel wings so why not give him a bird.

- I don’t know if it should be a shiny or not however.

Tango: Rapidash

- A being with a unruly temper that does not take kindly to betrayal or competition.

- Could have helped with the whole Torchy task.

- Tango is often represented with hair that lights on fire when upset, just like Rapidash’s mane burns hotter when upset or fighting.

Marine and Lin met while Marine was on vacation in Alola. They kept contact through Rotomblr and are now besties.

After the events of ORAS, Team Aqua's objective is to make the sea a better place for pokémons by protecting it. I will still make jokes about catching Kyogre and expanding the ocean, but it's not actually serious. Team Aqua thinks that catching Kyogre might help with protecting the ocean tho.

//OOC : Hiyya, my main blog is @local-hyena-reblogs. Everyone can interact with this blog (including Team Magma don't worry, I'll be playfully rivalrous :] ). My pokémons are based on my own team in Alpha Sapphire (reworked a bit, I usually have Rayquaza and Kyogre). Alpha Sapphire was my first pokemon game ever, and it is my Favorite. I love this game (and Team Aqua) with all my heart. My favorite pokemons are Rayquaza and Blaziken. I do a little bit of cosplay, my one and only cosplay is Team Aqua grunt (male uniform, I'm more comfortable that way).

I finished Alpha Sapphire a LONG time ago and I do not want to re-start my game because I'm not done with completing the pokedex (I'm over 360 hours in. I just enjoy chilling in the game) and I somehow ended up remembering Archie saying something like he wanted to reform Team Aqua into a more peaceful organization aiming to protect the ocean called Team Neo Aqua, which is apparently does not what happens in the game ??? Anyway I clung on that idea for years. I am not working on a fangame called Aqua Sapphire in which you are a new team grunt and you experience the events of the game, and then experience the transition to team neo aqua and have new missions as a team neo aqua grunt.

Btw I'm french that's why my pokemon names are in french.

what starter pokemon do your ocs pick

if we're talking the main characters, then surprisingly for all being SIs they don't pick the same pokemon.

(i only know/care up to sun/moon so that's what my answer will reflect)

(answer is a mix between two implications: if pkmn were real, and what they'd pick in a game)

zyx - closest to what i'd pick irl when doing a balanced team build or whatever (not that i'm good at pkmn): something w a type/utility that's not as easy to find in the wild, can learn a variety of moves, probably not grass type ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (even tho irl a grass type is most useful for nature and survival), probably a fire type, probably charmander for charizard + its mega-evolutions.

(as for an actual oc, zhou le from dbd would pick what looks the 'coolest' but one's assessment of that will vary. it might be treecko for sceptile and mega-sceptile's looks, snivy for the wyvern shape of serperior, or chimchar bc it reminds him of his hou-shishu, somehow).

lwh - something that wouldn't look out of place for the only daughter of the head of gusu lan, but still internally delightful to her. froakie bc a cute frog (definitely something something fucked around with lwj as a kid and took him frog catching) and the little ruffles around froakie and frogadier's necks look like clouds. it's on-brand, don't worry about her, she's not up to no good :)

(her starter would never evolve into a greninja for the sake of staying on the down low until everything falls into place)

kagami - he'll pick a thing for pure desire, no other consideration. my actual pick when i just wanna fuck around -> rowlet bc where else will you find a cool secondary ghost-type starter? (ig scarlet and violet have the fire crocodile that turns into a ghost but eh.)

ooo--if we get hisuian typhlosion, then cyndaquil is the move. he also likes being on brand (kagami's family name means 'fire god')

korvin - boy's in the worst type of sweat mode -> he's picking nothing less than what's considered op even while he's dying inside at his own choices. it agonizes him that he's picking something that he likes, yet it's also considered the pick for competitive, and that just makes him look like a tryhard/opens him up to being challenged, but it's also good enough to keep him going so he continues suffering.
