Meatloaf variation #34 for dinner tonight! Along with mixed veggies, leftover white Mac and cheese and a dalop of mashed potatoes. The potatoes I did a little something differently....afterall it's boxed. Added some cream cheese and a bit of mayo. Gotta keep it creamy. Not really hungry for the moment. Dinner! Grilled pork chops, creamy kicked up mushroom rice and apple/cranberry sauce(wished I had some toasted oats to crumble on top 😍) I usually don't do fruit with dinner. And One of the kids from the Brady Bunch, Peter Brady I think his name was. And that infamous quote, "Pork chops and apple sauce," wouldn't stop ringing in my head as I looked at the chops on the grill. But I didn't want just plain apple sauce to go with this meal, it would be disrespectful for a guy with my skills. My original thought was mixing some apple sauce with some cherry pie filling and a toasted oats topping. One, we had no cherry pie filling. 2, no oats. BUT, my mom managed to find a can of cranberry sauce. Ahh, what the Hell. It wouldn't be plain apple sauce. It tasted good after adding some spices. If, and it's a big if. We got half a brisket, and a pork loin. One is seasoned the other is rub with "this and that". Been in the smoker for about 3hrs as of this post. As for the mop, is has water, w-shire sauce, lime juice, bacon grease, hot sauce, and sugar. So that the meat won't get too hard. Because Mom would get hot because the bark would get hard, which what it usually does when smoking. But hopefully this won't get to bad. It's Saturday, sun is out, it's not too hot, I'm out here with one working foot and I'm smoking some damn meat.
