TheLreads, Vigilantes ch 89, Replies Part 2
1) “RAPPA THERE ARE OTHER CHICKS HERE WHAT WAS THAT COMMENT EVEN ABOUT YOU KNEW THAT NOT ONLY MEN LIKE BEATING EACH OTHER SENSELESS SMH “- I mean, there are spectators and fans in the room as well. It’s not a fighters-only club, she could have just been there to watch the carnage from the sidelines.
2) “Oh yeah Mirko, I sure hope you won’t remember this later on when you become a hero… Although I don’t think you ever got involved with trigger investigations- do you even know that’s part of the job description besides kicking ass and taking names?”- I am 90% sure that Mirko has never done any investigative work as a hero. If she has sidekicks, that’d be almost entirely their job description, along with handling the paperwork whilst she runs around from fight to fight.
3) “Considering how gas behaves, I’m surprised that you two are fine now. You can see it is denser and sinks to the floor, so in theory it should’ve spread far enough to cover this corner. maybe.”- It seems to be concentrated around the actual ring itself, so whilst Mirko’s a little better off at higher elevation, the outside corners of the room are also a temporary safe spot until the gas gets stronger – plus, this is clearly also proto-trigger, so it seems that you need to get several good lungfuls before your Quirks are affected, and they’ve both taken only trace amounts in their current positions.
4) “WAIT
WHAT- IS THAT KUROGIRI? OR IS IT THE PERSON FROM WHICH THEY TOOK KUROGIRI’S POWER?”-  The butler is here to help his master clean up the mess.
5) “is that afo’s hand reaching in through a kurogiri portal to steal quirks out in the open in an event that is being transmitted online and in the presence of a current pro hero and a future pro hero?
it better not be Furuhashi “- Well, it’s very clearly no longer being transmitted online, but yep, AFO’s done with this place, and now it’s time to reap the benefits before the police make everything too hot to handle. Mirko can be forgiven because she’s clearly not much of a thinker at present (plus I don’t think she noticed the Quirk-stealing) but Knuckles….we’ll get to that later.
(Vigilantes ch 86)
6) “Considering they have a pretty nice place and are even advertising it online I don`t think they are too concerned about what might be found there, I doubt this is AfO`s business, like it seems to be trying to point at.”- Well, not one he’s directly connected to, but one that serves as a suitable lure for his actual operations to rake in the necessary materials…
(Vigilantes Ch 87)
7) “So yeah, that`s trigger, but I don`t think that`s AfO`s business yet, I think this is before he took hold of that thing and started his plans.”- Yeah, turns out….we really misjudged how involved AFO was going to be in the events of this prequel. We assumed he’d never lower himself to the street-level crimes that Knuckleduster and Koichi were investigating until Trigger’s worth had been proven and he realised it was worth stealing, but turns out, he’s been directly involved with refining and perfecting the formula under Garaki’s supervision for years.
Bit of a shock honestly, and I do sorta wish it wasn’t the case? Like, I feel Knuckle and Koichi deserved to be faced off with an overarching Villain they actually had a chance of confronting and beating, but I guess it does fit for the symbol of evil’s far-reaching tendrils to create chaos and disaster on multiple levels of society before he got directly involved with Izuku’s plotline.
(vigilantes ch 88)
8) “And apparently this isn’t exactly trigger, but it might be a prototype of it, before AfO got his potato hands into the mix.”-  Or, you know, hadn’t quite refined the formula to be as effective. Needed some time to figure out what worked and what didn’t
(Vigilantes ch 88)
9) “Yeah so this is definitely no AfO’s doing, like he would care for things like asking permission.”-  On the other hand, this isn’t AFO, and likely doesn’t even know his venue is being secretly used as an illegal Quirk-harvesting/testing ground. He probably just accepted the drugs and took what was said about them at face value, and knows he and the fighters ae being monitored by a mysterious backer, but he likely doesn’t realise the depths to which he’s involved with such a dangerous villain.
(Vigilantes ch 88)
10) “Also, the fuck you guys have batons here for? This is an illegal operation, why are you trying to not intimidate with non-lethal weaponry? Bring the goddamn shotgun on his ass your morons”- Well, these guys are supposed to be badly injured, so it theoretically shouldn’t take that much effort to subdue them – not to mention AFO wouldn’t want the merchandise dying before he can suck the Quirks out of them. (Vigilantes ch 88)
11) “…
YOU
FUCKING WHAT NOW
THIS WAS ACTUALLY AFO’S OPERATION ALL ALONG???
THIS MESS???”-  Well, probably not directly, but he likely had a hand in funding it and secretly supplying them with drugs and resources for him to monitor the effects with, whilst keeping far enough away under a veil of secrecy that there’s no direct connection or any hints that he’s anything more than a shady backer who hid in the shadows.
12) “Oh damn Mirko didn’t even saw Knuckle coming, that just goest to show how absurdly fast he can get when he gets serious”- And given how the warping keeps up with him even from an external viewpoint, just how fast is Kurogiri’s mist/ability to distort space? We are lucky his head’s as messed up as it is by present, cause if he could control this power freely, it’d be a gamechanger.
13) “I would be more worried how Kurogiri is opening portals so fast- I mean, if he closed and opened another one he would end up cutting AfO’s hand, which wouldn’t be a problem for us, but it certainly would for the timeline”- AFO’s also pretty fast himself, especially since he likely has a few speed-enhancer quirks on him now, so he’d likely be able to reach out, steal a Quirk and remove his hand before it got chopped off. Remember that he was fast enough in his prime to steal Quirks in the blink of an eye, and he’s still not yet been crippled by All Might at present.
14) “Okay now, I do have a few problems with that, wasn’t AfO already eyeless by then? Because I don’t think he’s just sticking his hand to get quirks without even knowing what they do, he is a collector but not of trash”- Yes, he’s not lost his oculars presently. No, it’s not a good idea to try and fit this event into a concise timeline, you’ll just hurt yourself. Best to let it go and thing of things happening in a vague “ish-years ago” timeframe, rather than hard numbers.
15) “HOW DID THE GAS DIDN’T GOT HERE YET
EVEN MORE CONSIDERING KNUCKLES JUST MADE A VACUUM TUNNEL FUNNELING IT TOWARDS THEM WITH HIS SPEED DAMMIT KNUCKLES”- presumably the proto-gas stuff is incredibly dense and therefore will take a few minutes to completely fill up the room – not to mention it also apparently requires higher doses of exposure to affect somebody’s Quirk
16) “Alright Knuckles, the fact you’re asking for Mirko’s help immediately leads me to believe you were the one that made sure she didn’t got in trouble for this”- Aaaand that’s about all the explanation we’ll get for how this whole event didn’t wind up a black mark on Mirko’s record.
17) “MIRKO I WAS JUST JOKING
Although I can’t think of anything else you in particular would say in that situation.”- Mirko is a simple woman, with simple needs.
18) “Oh god, please say “a manly philosophy” rather than “punches” “- I would actually love to see Crimson Riot interacting with these two.
19) “OH MY GOD RAPPA PLEASE”- Same braincell, different bodies.
20) “But then what Knuckles? The police is still on their lunch break, they can’t stop it just because you asked them, that’s not what they came here for”- The line at the donut store can be a real killer, let me tell you.
21) “oh- oh no, I think someone already knows who Knuckles is…”- Knuckles has made himself an above-average nuisance, and now, it’s motivating somebody to try and squash that gnat…
22) “and he didn’t thought of telling anyone that there was a crazy fucker that stole his quirk? I know he wasn’t aware of All Might’s beef against him, but I think that’s the sort of thing you want other heroes to be aware of
You’re telling me that everything that followed and lead to the current arc of the main series… was because Knuckles was a dumbass that didn’t told anyone that AfO was still alive? “- Yeah…uh, basically that’s it. Knuckles, just like with Nomura/number 6 in the present, seems to have this whole bizarre honour code of “the only person allowed to stop you” going for him with the animosity he has towards the VF and its mysterious backer. And yes, he’s unaware of the history with All Might and AFO, but for some reason, he genuinely seems to want to be the one who takes down the villains in the end, despite his powerlessness in the present.
It is honestly weird for him, that he’s consistently making such an irrational decision, but he apparently did/does want to take down AFO. Granted, part of it could be that he wants to ID where AFO is and what he’s planning before informing the authorities so they can send All Might after him, but at other times, like him taking on Nomura solo, I get the sense that he still wants to be the hero and stop the villains, even lacking power anymore.
It’s almost like a bizarre inversion of All might’s character arc in MHA, that Knuckles has trained up a stronger protégée than himself in the new line of work he’s found himself in, but he keeps trying to take on the fight with the villains himself and keep said protégée out of it, to the point that Koichi only has direct dealings with Nomura after Knuckles got forcibly removed from the picture.

Vigilantes CH 89: Miruko may be out of the main story line of a second.........
BUT WE GET TO SEE THE QUEEN IN THE NEW VIGILANTE CHAPTER!!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Literally had the least amount of screen time and instantly became one of my favorite characters. I’m so hyped to see her backstory get played out! I want to see more of her personality and who she is.
Also its a surprise that her quirk almost got stolen from what appears to be AFO
Tumblr media
Which is an interesting revelation
Also
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I think we also got to see a pre gigantomachia? I’m just speculating based of of the spikes and mutation I’m seeing that looks like gigantomachia.
Side note:
Tumblr media
Rappa aint that bad and I hope he gets out of prison soon. He too just likes to fight.

Ya wanna know something that someone on here said that’s been fucking me up for a while??
So, like we know from Vigilantes that when Aizawa erases Mic’s quirk he can’t speak. This is because his quirk is his voice and he doesn’t seem to be able to turn it on and off in a traditional sense.
But if Mic got shot with one of those Quirk erasing bullets he just WOULDN’T BE ABLE TO TALK, EVER AGAIN?
And the angst?? Aizawa rushing to him in a hospital because someone said there is something wrong with Mic. When he enters the room Mic looks fine, not physically hurt in anyway and Hizashi just gives him this small smile.
Aizawa asks what’s wrong, and starts panicking when instead of replying back to him, Hizashi starts writing on a piece of paper in front of him.
It simply reads, “Got shot. It was one of those Quirk erasing bullets. Can’t talk.”
When Aizawa looks back at Hizashi again he notices that small smile is accompanied by tears in Mic’s eyes.

DFO but Izuku is Jack-Jack from the Incredibles.
and AFO has to hide it from Inko and track down the owners of the quirks Izuku stole because “LASER EYES? Where did you get that one?!”
The "hide the quirks from Inko and return them" game includes:
AFO holding onto multiple Izuku's and trying to wrangle them all together because Inko is in the next room and oh god he's so screwed.
Izuku gleefully terrorising the racoon that's been eating their garbage and AFO is so proud, but also he should probably do something about that because the noise is going to draw the neighbors’ attention.
and POV: you are the most powerful villain on earth and your son spontaneously bursts into flame
also:
AFO: Honey, where's my supersuit?
Inko: What?
AFO: Where's my supersuit?
Inko: WHAT?
AFO: Where Is My SUPERSUIT?
Inko: I uh, put it away!
AFO: Where?
Inko: WHY do you need to know?
AFO: I need it!
Inko: Un-uh don't you think about running off doin' no daring-do. We've been planning this dinner for 2 months!
AFO: The public totally legitimate business is in danger!
Inko: My evening's in DANGER!
AFO: You tell me where my suit is woman! We're talking about the greater good!
Inko: GREATER GOOD? I AM YOUR WIFE! I AM THE GREATEST ‘GOOD’ YOU ARE EVER GONNA GET!

After all this, everyone returns to UA only to find Aizawa and Mic desperately trying to hide Kurogiri by covering him with a blanket.

Readymade BNHA icons current availability and pricing
Okay so @shinvcho suggested I make a sort of post to better list what base icons I’ve got available from previous commissions as well as doing on my own time, so I’m going with it so people can hopefully pass this post around and spread the word so I can keep going with more commission work! You have my eternal gratitude reblogging this and spreading the word just through word of mouth.
Icons are priced $5 by the 100, and I generally round up to the next 100 after the total number of icons goes above 50 within the 100 (hopefully that explanation makes sense!). Below the cut are characters I’ve already made icons of, how many icons I’ve made, what medium the icons are from (can range from the main manga to spinoff mangas to OVA’s to the movies) and what the base price for them is. Price might go up a little if further editing with borders/overlay/etc is requested, depending on the amount of icons to be edited. If you’ve got further questions or want to ask about commissioning come shoot me an ask or IM!
All set totals are subject to change as more chapters come out, but this is what I have as of 3/16/2022.
For the sets that are between 30 and 100 icons, I apologize that I’m still charging the same amount since I usually charge per 100 icons, but since this is my only income I have to charge the minimum $5 whenever reasonably possible since I did take the time to go through the manga to make and clean what icons I could get.  Any sets under 30 icons will be free and all you have to do is ask for them and I will link you to them on Dropbox.

TheLreads, Vigilantes ch 89, Replies Part 1
1) “Alright, so, let us try to recover a bit of the lost time. Vigilantes? Yeah, vigilantes. Mirko just started kicking ass? Tricky question, she’s always kicking ass? Okay, so, did the story punched any holes in the worldbuilding or plot? pffft- yeah, I suuuuure it didn’t happen…”-
(L, after reading the chapter)
“NUUURSE! I’ve found a massive hole in this plot! Fetch the band-aids!
2) “Alrighty Mirko, time to show us some badass scenes, if you’re gonna escape persecution from criminal acts I want it to be worth it, aright?|- If there’s one advantage to Mirko, it’s that she’s a guarantee of badassness to ensure, or double your money back, guaranteed.
3) "A person who we don't know the identity of and definitely won't be charged for this even though those event are being transmitted online if I recall correctly "- Given what AFO’s up to, and later resorts to openly stealing Quirks in the chaos, I assume that he cut the feeds at some point when he judged it was time to sabotage the venue and make off with what he wanted from it- in fact, knowing him, he’d already twigged to Knuckle’s infiltration before his match and had pre-emptively  prepared to burn the whole operation to the ground before he’d found anything that could concretely link AFO to the event, hence why he feels secure in (literally) showing his hand in matter now.
For all we know, the feeds were stopped before Mirko burst onto the stage, once “The Ripper” had been taken to the infirmary where he was free to find the incriminating stuff.
4) “Holy shit even the staff? Alright, more meat for the grinder I suppose. Poor bastards.”- They got caught up in the rush, but should have considered where the end result would take them. Oh well, at least this place likely has good dental – AFO had to keep his winning smile somehow, right?
5) “But if we theoretically knew, I bet we would be about to see a true carnage. A one-woman massacre. The Beast of Caerbannog brought to life.”- They’re locked inside a slaughterhouse, and they’re the meat products that need tenderising.
6) “Like I said, a massacre. And glad to see confirmation that this is indeed being shown online, where deeefinitely it won’t remain as a permanent record that can be used to identify her later on, I mean, there’s just so many bunny-people that are on high school and have already been expelled due to illegal underground fights, right?”-  Hmmm, I’m honestly uncertain how much of the event is even being shown anymore. It’d leave too much evidence of AFO’s direct involvement for him to use Kurogiri’s portaling + his Quirk stealing this openly unless he’d already stopped the broadcasting, or put the feed in a closed loop to hide what he was doing, unbeknownst to the actual participants, who are now getting beaten for nothing but Mirko’s amusements
7) “Alright narrator calm down there before she climbs up there to kick your ass as well”- Actually, where the hell is he? He’s still keeping the commentary flow going despite a mass rush of bodies in the cramped confines headed straight for Mirko, so where’s he standing that he can keep an eye on the action without getting knocked over?
8) “Oh yeah it did, but don’t worry, there is enough of it to go around, blood just started being spilled after all
Now rappa, I want you to meet your new best friend forever
god if only Mirko was part of the overhaul raid… “-  Rappa and Mirko really do be sharing the same braincell, just in opposite directions/interests. God but it would have been cool for them to meet/fight in the Hassaki raid again and settle the “Fist vs Kicks” debate once and for all…and I’d actually pay money to see Mirko’s reaction to Tengai’s barrier trciks when he pulled those stunts, and whether or not she could break them by herself unlike Fitgum’s mega-blow. Actually, now I wanna see Mirko and Kirishima interacting, just to see if she’d be up for training his endurance whilst also training her kicks.
9) “ “trying” might be the right word here, because they sure as all hell aren’t succeeding on it.”- An uncoordinated mob vs the most coordinated asskicker in the series, no contest.
10) “Now rappa I want you to apologize to your new best friend because being honest she’s way more “manly” than you. Can’t believe we’ll cancel rappa on shitter due to sexist comments smdh”-  To be fair, he hadn’t spoken to her yet, and I’d honestly find a hard time finding somebody in this series who is more on each other’s wavelength than these duos. I’d also say I ship it, but they love violence more than any romance could hope to compare.
11) “Rappa please, your new best friend is right there and she would actually be incredibly happy to kick your ass into oblivion jesus just get out of Knuckleduster’s dick already”- This is why you should never be afraid to try new dishes on the menu, you might find something you’ll like more than your tried and tested favourites.
12) “oh my god he’s still going after him while casually yeeting people to the side
I can only imagine knuckle back at the office and Rappa outside, holding a boombox over his head like in a 90s romcom.”- That would imply that despite his simple love of straightforward violence, Rappa is skilled enough to track down and keep up with a man whose Quirk is literally all about super-speed, and that’s too funny not to be canon.
13) “I’m sorry, it doesn’t look like knuckleduster is paying attention to what that buzzer was, it looks like he’s so done with this shit he’s disassociating.”- Knuckle is still trying to avert his eyes from the path of the fist, but it will take him down his destined road, one way or another…
14) “Oh boy, is that the proto-trigger? So much for asking consent before giving it to conscious people, right?”- Well, maybe the manager would have asked for consent, but AFO’s not him, is he? Plus, I bet that gas piping was introduced as a “security measure” should the fighting get too out of hand, advertised as a means of sedating the whole crowd at once to avoid ‘incidents’, only for AFO to switch the payload when using it here to his benefit.
15) “Wait, so did the staff knew this was going to happen? But then why would they jump in on the mess? If I knew someone would deploy a quirk-enhancing drug that makes people lose their mind I would avoid going in the middle of a crowd of crazy-ass fuckers”- I’m betting they’re equally confused when people’s Quirks start exploding and spiking in power, but they were expecting the pipes to help sedate them, not push events more and more out of control. But hey, at least it’s really entertaining for AFO, the only one watching from the monitors now.
15) “Alright, so it is trigger alright
So, is this still being transmitted online or did the feed already got cut? Because boy I think it would be hard to overlook this when investigating trigger.”- AFO has definitely cut the feeds, especially since he starts getting ‘directly’ involved now, but it’s unclear as to when he did so.

Note
AFO didn't need or even particularly wanted Hawk's quirk, he just took it to be a petty asshole while he was down.
Yeah, he did that, didn't he?
Honestly, that's like AFO to do that.
It's funny to me though (not that quirk taking bit before anybody gets uppity) that I forgot Hawks got his quirk taken but can remember the time (SPOILER AHEAD) Miruko could have gotten her quirk stolen by AFO but he failed. And he actually wanted her quirk. Like, I think about that sometimes and just "that man really want a rabbit quirk".
I'm sure it's clear which character is my favorite.
From BNHA Vigilantes, by the way, for anyone wanted to know, during chapters 88 - 89!

🐇 SHE DOES NOT GIVE A DAMN! 🌙
I feel like Miruko is that type of person you cannot insult or debate with at all because she has heard it all and yet still has so much confidence in herself.
It kinda goes with "I live every day like it's my last so I won't have any regrets". She would not spend her moments upset about someone judging her. She'll just shrug it off and go on about her days.
In fact, it will just irritate her that someone wasted her time.
Example of what I'm talking about, chapter 89 of BNHA Vigilantes- "Super-Smashing Tiger Bunny!"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She's just a high school student here who told Rappa, a grown man, "I'm a girl, and? I got kick power!"
She does not give a damn! And I adore her for it! 🐇
