Day 30: "I'm not the villain..." [Reader x Rappa] {My Hero Academia}

Things had not been going the way you were hoping, so many things were just... going wrong. You couldn't even talk to your boyfriend without being heavily supervised the entire time. It was maddening.

You were well aware that Rappa did things that others would heavily disapprove of, but he wasn't evil. Just headstrong and fight happy. He was easy to wrap into the category 'villain' simply because he preferred a good fight without thinking about morals or rules.

But you wished he'd stayed as an underground hero, or maybe found an underground fight club he could blow his steam off at.

Instead, you were being searched for weapons at the gate check. Another visiting day, another time your efforts to keep your... actually healthiest relationship alive were being questioned by everyone and their dog.

"Alright, step forward." A face-less guard commanded over the intercom, "[Full Name] here to see prisoner 482."

If you knew where to throw your shady side-eye, you would have. His name was Rappa, not a number. But you weren't the only person here to see him... a pro hero was in the room as well.

It barely clicked in your mind that this was the pro-hero Fatgum when the opposite door swung inward. Rappa was let into the little sideyard as his cuffs were removed. It was more than telling when Rappa wasn't even sure who to approach first...

"I wasn't aware Rappa would have other visitors." Fatgum turned to you, "Though... If you need me to step out..."

"It's fine." Your tone of voice did not convey that at all, "They only allow Rappa an hour and a half once a week so..."

You could have sworn Fatgum was about ready to riot. But as you stepped forward to the tiny table in the area, Rappa mirrored your movements.

"Eh, c'mon sweetie. It's not that bad." Seeing him without his hood was something you used to love... it was something only you got to see, "Besides, I've been keepin' my nose down. Guard said I might get a little more time if I keep it up."

Fatgum stood off to the side, "Wait, 'sweetie'? You mean...!"

"What!? Why does everyone have to judge!" You shot over your shoulder.

"Hey, easy [Name]." Rappa grabbed your hands, "After the romp I had with him and the red guy, I kinda see why I'm here. Bet on the wrong thing ya know?"

You sighed, "Doesn't mean I have to be okay with how people are about this."

"I... I'm just shocked he has someone like you." Fatgum admitted, "I mean, you look relatively nice and shy. Especially next to him. And the 'red guy's name is Red Riot. At least try to remember it."

"Yeah, yeah. Got it." Rappa waved the hero down, "And what'd ya mean 'how people are with this'?"

"Everyone acts like I'm a villain just because you got caught up in something bigger than yourself!" You threw your arms up in agitation, "And if they aren't thinking that then they feel sorry for me because I'm dating a 'villain'. Thinking I'm wasting my time cause you'll never change but you haven't! You were never a bad guy, you just made a stupid mistake and wound up here because of it."

"They have a point Rappa." You didn't think the pro hero would side with you on this but... "If you hadn't started following Overhaul you would never have ended up in jail in the first place."

"He kept beating me! And I needed to know how!" Rappa pouted, "But I mean... I kinda am the villain right now."

"No you're not!"

"Look sweetie, I beat up a kid and was siding with a guy who was using a kid to make some super drug or other." He sighed, "I'm not the villain in your story. In theirs yeah, but not in yours."

When he said it like that...

"Well, yes and no." Fatgum interjected, "Overhaul never told you what he was doing. Meaning you weren't able to react to how he was treating Eri. But, he was also paying you to fight intruders. By all means you were responsible for your actions against me and Red Riot, but not for what Overhaul was doing. That's just retrospect."

While this wasn't exactly a comfortable situation, you sat in Rappa's lap. Listening to his conversation with Fatgum, chiming in when you had something to add. Though you tried to just keep to yourself. And oddly enough, after the first outburst and explanation... Fatgum didn't seem to judge you one bit for being with Rappa. Not even a little...

Rappa Vs. IV

She stared at him, her yellow eyes wide, baring her teeth as a loud and hoarse growl ripped through her throat.   Rappa had heard the rumors, rumors about fighters coming into the ring only to left it half dead; Maimed bodies, lost limbs, chocking on their own blood, all courtesy of the scrawny little brat in front of him. He had not the pleasure of watch any of her matches but he knew that she was no joke. Not a fancy little pet that fought for her master, not a show off like the others. Rappa only had to look at her to know she fights for her life, every goddamn time she stepped into the ring. The man grinned. Yes. She could give him a good fight.

Idk remember the last time i posted but like--- I'm back!! With rappa headcanons of his past!!!

• so he grows up in a strict household and his parents are expecting him to grow up academically and become a doctor or something

•when his quirk roles in he develops a sense of wanting to use his quirk, but overtime it grows into an obsession of fighting. He starts fights in school and after the 10th time of his parents going into the principal's office they decided to home school

•this didn't work out though. He'd mostly beat up the tutors without fail. Eventually he started stealing money from his parents and he used it to bribe a tutor to let him go out without telling his parents

• oneday he just happens to stumble upon the underground masquerade fighting ring. He goes in to find a fight going on and stares in awe as a fighter completely crushes his openent. He come back day aftee day to see the fights

• months pass and oneday when he watching some guy bumped into him and wanted to start a fight with him. Rappa doesn't back down an starts it up soon peoole starts to surrond them

• it goes on until someone breaks up the fight. It's the same guy that he saw the first time he came here. The masquerade champion. He breaks up the fight and drags rappa outside sparing the other guy

• he tells rappa to go home that this ain't no place for a kid. 17 yrs old rappa ain't happy and yells at the guy saying he could have finished the fight himself. Rappa challenge him to a fight but he refuses saying it wouldn't be fair as rappa is already injured

• he explains his code of honor to rappa and offers him the chance to train under him and teach him properly. Rappa agrees and comes back everyday to learn

•they champion grows to be rappas father/mentor figure and he spends years fighting. By then rappas like 23yrs old and has ran away from home and his parents aint too happy about this.

• they report to the heroes that their son has been kidnapped and they get sent after him. His mentor fights and almost wins but then he gets shot and stabbed repeatedly. This is heartbreakinglu traumatizing for rappa

• he then dedicates his life to fighting in the ring. He will not spare anyone at all and qill give them a fight to the death. But then overhaul enters the fight. He uses his quirk to win and rappa us not happy.

•He did not want to lose this way. He wants to die an honourable death and go out fighting. So rappa joins the shie hassaikai just to duel with overhaul. And will not stop until overhaul kills him with his bear hands

•he has a pet snapping turtle, dont ask me why

•he secretly loves sweets and baking

-(Yes it's overdone and very cliché'. Yes I've taken one scene from the anime and ran with it. However, I don't care! I'll die on the blushing Spinner hill) Discrimination due to the way his quirk makes him look has been no surprise to hear him open up about back when you first started dating. Whether he admits it or not, he's affected by this when it comes to his own self confidence. Everywhere he goes, all he's ever heard about was his appearance. Lizard was possibly the most annoying thing to hear. Why would anyone be attracted to someone that looked like him when there were normal attractive people out there?

-Along came you. Now at first he was in denial because look at you! To him, you were quite possibly the most attractive person he could've laid his eyes on. What's even crazier is the way you overlooked anyone else in the room just for the chance to talk to him of all people! He was confused and at the end of it he still feels like this might be one big dream. However, he pinches himself and never seems to wake up.

-You compliment him all the time. You always make time to bring up how attractive you think he is. It's mind blowing to say the least. You especially find yourself making note of his muscles to him. The way you look at him when you compliment his arms has him thinking he's going to melt away at any minute. Don't let me get started on the way he softens when you hold him to admire him. He's completely and totally weakened for you. These things aren't said just because you hope he'll see himself as worthy one day, but because you honestly feel this way about him. Just slow it down. Any more attention today and he'll end up passing out from the lightheadedness of your words combined with your sweet butterfly kisses and smile!

-He's only ever really doubted himself once or twice in the past. Other than that, he's convinced himself he's hot shit. Rappa isn't the insecure type a lot of times. He's so sure of himself and that confidence rings throughout whatever he does. You can imagine how much cockier he becomes every single time you compliment him. You can only laugh when you kiss his cheek and call him handsome, he stands and shouts 'hell yeah' so proudly lol.

-When he thinks about it, you've always been there to cheer him on as his biggest fan. You never really missed a chance to remind him how awesome he was, so of course he'd never have a moment to think otherwise. He loves the way you pump his head up. When you compliment him, he feels his heart running a million miles an hour. He values your opinion more highly than you think. If you ever think otherwise then just remember all times he's gotten too rowdy with someone and you were able to wrangle him back down to reality! Without you, he'd probably be locked up by now.

-When he finally has a singular moment of small doubt creeping up then you notice his small change in energy. He's much quieter and thinking for longer than usual. You ask him what's wrong and he looks you directly in the eyes. "You serious? I mean about all that shit you said?" He asks you, searching for any discrepancies in your eyes. You only smile widely back at him before laying a big smooch on the side of his head. You wrap your arms around him and nuzzle yourself into the crook of his neck. "I wouldn't lie about it because I've got nothing to gain from doing so. I meant every single word. You're handsome and those muscles are to die for." He nods and a large smile etches its way across his face. "Haha, yeah I know."

New update to my My Hero Academia au! This is a suicide squad/task force x style plotline where the Hero Public Safety Commission “recruits” inmates and patients to do covert missions. That definitely seems like smth they’d do in canon ngl.

Lady Nagant. After being put in Tartarus, Tsutsumi is pretty much put back on the Commission’s list due to her skill. As well as them just being spread thin. She is reluctantly given her job back. And in return, they won’t kill her.

Blizzard. Rei Todoroki, despite not being a pro hero, does have relations to one. And her quirk is deceptively powerful. It’s because of this that the Commission seeked her out. In return for doing their bidding, they’ll “have her discharged early.” At least, that’s what they say.

The Takami Thief. In order to further keep the name “Takami” under wraps, the Commission more or less bought out Hawks’s dad for good measure. In return for a good check and early release, he decidedly couldn’t say no.

Stain. Had the decision to recruit him been public, lets just say there would’ve been controversy. Similar to Nagant, Stain’s recruitment was very reluctant on his part. But on account of All Might being dead, and Stain’s message almost dying with him, Akaguro decided he wasn’t going to die under the Commission’s control. He’ll escape... eventually...

Ending. No recorded documents beyond his criminal record have been found. His recruitment wasn’t exactly “reluctant,” but there’s only one man this villain will willing die to.

The Rapper. He’s not the type to join a big government agency. But his allegiance was sworn once he was beaten in a fight.

Swordkill. Formerly part of another villain group, Swordkill was recruited in return for early release and nothing more. Money isn’t what this villain is after.

Gentle Criminal and La Brava. A duo of criminals and youtubers, in return for an early release and the reinstatement of their channel, the Commission believed they were worth recruiting.
