Since its inception, the motorcycle has lent itself to the needs of riders determined to ride them in every possible environment with a never-ending thirst for speed and style. Originating on the city streets and country back roads in England in the 1960s, the cafe racer has endured as a timeless expression of motorcycle customization, joining the ranks of iconic genres like board track racers, choppers and bobbers. The stripped-down and hopped-up British cafe racers zooming between pubs were purpose-built for optimizing speed and handling. Still, the minimalist style that resulted has echoed in every decade since to become a staple genre in motorcycle culture. The cafe racer movement was so significant upon its arrival that many of the world’s top manufacturers began rolling out production models into their lineups by the 1970s.
One such iconic machine was the brainchild of a young Willie G. Davidson of the Harley-Davidson Motor Company, who pulled inspiration from the vibrant cafe racer culture in the U.K. to produce his own version with a distinctly American DNA. Using Harley-Davidson’s existing XLCH Sportster as a foundation, Davidson and his team unveiled the XLCR (cafe racer) in 1977, a model which it is safe to say raised quite a few eyebrows. At its heart was a 61 CI (1000cc) OHV V-twin and 4-speed gearbox built in-unit, which could push the hefty 550-pound machine to a top speed of 115 MPH.
Where its British and Italian counterparts drew from a heritage of Grand Prix racing to inspire their styling, the XLCR married its heritage of flat track racing and the increasingly popular street tracker style to produce a menacing, all-black beast of a motorcycle. A flat track fuel tank, ducktail rear section and bikini fairing captured the cafe racer look, while 2-into-1 exhaust, disc brakes and Morris mag wheels completed what was, at the time, the fastest Harley-Davidson on the market. Displayed in a private collection for 24 years and accompanied by its owner’s manual, original service manual, a Harley-Davidson parts catalog and the original Harley-Davidson keys, this incredibly original 1977 Harley-Davidson XLCR has turned over less than 400 miles, which—given its limited overall production and increasing collectability—makes this American cafe racer an extremely rare and classic motorcycle.
For two years I owned this stunningly beautiful bike. Why only two years?
Everything about this bike is beautiful. It’s wonderfully styled from the factory in addition to having a jewel of an engine and a warm and pleasant soundtrack.
Triumph offers this same bike pre-customized for different purposes: cafe racer - get the Thruxton, enduro - get the Scrambler, modern roadster - get the Speed Twin, classic roadster - get the T120, cruiser - get the Speedmaster, and an old school bobber - get the Bobber. Although you can start with any of these and go in a different direction, you're better off just getting the one that best fits you style.
There is a huge aftermarket for these bikes. Save yourself some money and start with the style you want to end up with. I made lots of changes to mine only to realize that I was not improving the bike, just making it different, and sometimes worse.
I love this bike. The more I rode it, the more I discovered new ways to appreciate it. It is definitely a wolf in sheep’s clothing. It’s crazy fast if you crank the throttle, but equally as happy to purr along while you breathe in the countryside.
One morning I woke up funny and before lunchtime I had sold the bike. That wasn’t on the agenda the night previous. This folly was a mistake.
Four months later I fixed my mistake and repurchased a new T120 Black.
The Jawa Perak is a head-turner. It conveys a spirit of adventure and pure hardness with its robust build throaty engine growl and bobber-style posture. This bike is meant to be ridden quickly and in open areas. But what if you miss the thrill of sharing it with someone special? The Jawa Perak can accommodate just one passenger in its most basic configuration; passenger riders are not included. But do not be alarmed, Jawa fans! Your answer is here in front of you: the Jawa Perak double seat.
Exploring Aftermarket Options: Finding the Perfect Fit
Officially, Jawa Bikes does not sell twin seats. However, the aftermarket sector has the advantage of being able to satisfy a variety of needs. Various companies offer Jawa Perak double-seat options, and each has unique advantages.
Here’s an overview of key things to think about before selecting your Jawa Perak double seat:
Material: While synthetic seats may be more affordable and weather-resistant, leather seats have a more elegant feel and appearance.
Comfort: The comfort of the rider and the passenger is greatly influenced by the thickness and design of the padding. Choose a seat that provides both a comfortable riding position and strong back support.
Aesthetics: Think about how the seat enhances the appearance of your Jawa Perak as a whole. While some seats still have the bobber design, others have a more touring-focused layout.
Installation: Select a seat that will fit into your standard installed as easily as possible, ideally requiring no adjustments at all.
The Final Verdict: A Personal Choice
The choice to include a Jawa Perak double seat is ultimately a personal one. The stock single seat can be ideal if you prefer aggressive handling and long for solo rides. However, if you want to ride Jawa with a loved one, a cozy and well-chosen double seat might make all the difference in the world.
So what are you waiting for, fans of Jawa? Discover the world of Jawa Perak twin seats, select the one that fits you best, and get ready to make unforgettable experiences while traveling on two wheels!
Custom Wiring Solutions for Softail Slim: Elevating Your Ride with Precision and Style
youtube
When it comes to customizing your Harley-Davidson Softail Slim, the devil is truly in the details. While many riders focus on external aesthetics such as paint, chrome, and accessories, it’s the internal components like the wiring that can make or break your ride’s performance and reliability. Enter custom wiring solutions for Softail Slim motorcycles—a critical upgrade that offers both functionality and style, tailored to meet the specific needs of your bike.
Why Custom Wiring is Essential for Your Softail Slim
The Harley-Davidson Softail Slim is known for its classic bobber style, combining the best of vintage looks with modern performance. However, as you add custom components—be it new handlebars, lighting, or electronic gadgets—the stock wiring harness might not be up to the task. Stock wiring can become cluttered, inefficient, and difficult to troubleshoot, especially when integrating new components. This is where custom wiring solutions come into play.
Custom wiring harnesses are designed to streamline your bike’s electrical system, making it more efficient and easier to manage. They reduce unnecessary wires, improve connections, and allow for seamless integration of aftermarket components. Moreover, custom wiring ensures that your electrical system can handle the additional load from new gadgets and accessories without compromising performance or safety.
Key Benefits of Custom Wiring Solutions for Softail Slim
Enhanced Reliability and Safety Custom wiring is crafted to suit the specific needs of your Softail Slim, minimizing the chances of electrical failures, short circuits, or blown fuses. Each wire is cut to the exact length required, which eliminates excess wire clutter that can lead to potential hazards. High-quality materials and precise connections also ensure that your wiring is less prone to wear and tear, providing long-lasting reliability.
Improved Aesthetics A custom wiring solution can do wonders for the appearance of your Softail Slim. By concealing or neatly organizing the wires, you can maintain the clean, minimalist look that the Softail Slim is famous for. Whether you want to hide the wires entirely or showcase them as part of your bike’s design, custom wiring allows for that flexibility. This can be especially beneficial when installing new handlebars or lighting systems that expose wiring more prominently.
Simplified Maintenance and Troubleshooting With a custom wiring setup, maintenance becomes far simpler. Since each wire is labeled and organized according to your specific configuration, identifying and fixing issues is much easier. This is a significant advantage over stock wiring, where a tangled mess of wires can turn even minor repairs into a daunting task. Simplified maintenance also means less downtime for your bike, so you can spend more time on the road.
Tailored to Your Needs Every rider has unique preferences and needs when it comes to their motorcycle. Custom wiring solutions are fully customizable, allowing you to choose the type of wires, connectors, and even the routing of the harness. This level of personalization ensures that your bike’s wiring is as unique as you are, providing the perfect blend of form and function.
Common Custom Wiring Upgrades for the Softail Slim
Custom wiring solutions can cover a wide range of upgrades, depending on your riding style and preferences. Here are some popular modifications that benefit from custom wiring:
Handlebar Wiring: Installing new handlebars often requires re-routing wires or extending them to fit. Custom handlebar wiring kits ensure a seamless installation, whether you’re going for ape hangers, drag bars, or anything in between.
Lighting Systems: Upgrading to LED lights, adding auxiliary lights, or installing custom turn signals often requires a custom wiring solution. These upgrades not only improve visibility and safety but also give your bike a distinctive look.
Audio Systems: If you’re adding an audio system to your Softail Slim, custom wiring is essential for integrating speakers, amplifiers, and controls without compromising the bike’s electrical integrity.
Performance Electronics: For those who push their bikes to the limit, performance electronics like aftermarket ECUs, fuel management systems, and ignition modules require precise wiring to function optimally.
Choosing the Right Custom Wiring Solution
When selecting a custom wiring solution for your Softail Slim, it’s important to consider the quality of the components and the expertise of the provider. Look for wiring kits that use high-grade materials, such as Teflon-coated wires and waterproof connectors, to ensure durability and performance. Additionally, working with a provider that has experience with Harley-Davidson motorcycles, particularly the Softail Slim model, will ensure that the wiring is tailored to your specific needs.
At Dominator Industries, we specialize in providing top-tier custom wiring solutions for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, including the Softail Slim. Whether you’re adding new handlebars, upgrading your lighting, or installing advanced electronics, a custom wiring solution ensures that your modifications are seamlessly integrated and your bike is ready for any road ahead.

Soyez uniques !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
