no matter what i do i would be biasing this one so i'll go with one that wasn't the 3-7 versions of fisher's hornpipe i have heard in the last hour x_x

the boy and the herron during it's initial release. i'm not a big movie person so it had been a few years before then that i watched any movies either haha

"that time i got reincarnated as a slime" season 3 is finally coming out and i'm do excited! and one piece has been on my currently watching list since

Currently craving:

it's been almost 2 years since i have had taco bell and that is not for lack of desire lmao;

a cheesy gordita crunch, chicken quesadilla, crunchy taco, spicy potato taco, and whatever gimmick burrito they have is the craving of choice right now.

Tea or coffee?:

i was a barista for years, and despite trying hundreds of teas it still tastes like grass to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

so always coffee for me, though i like mine as just a plain cup i am a big fan of tasting espresso of varietals/origins/blends that sound interesting. (if you're as big a coffee nerd as me, my home setup is a sca gold cup certified bonavita 5 cup brewer with a melitta #4 or v60 02 brewer depending on my mood lol)

✧ it was cruel that leaf’s birthday fell on such a bitterly cold day , every single year . his mood was dampened because of it every morning he woke up on the eighteenth day of the twelfth month ; all he wanted to do was his favourite things to celebrate the day , but there was no warm grass to roll around in , no lake to soothe his scorching skin as he played in the sun , no abundance of wildflowers to admire and ethically pick to decorate the inside of his van . he had to be uncomfortably bundled up in layers that felt restrictive , he had to wipe frost off of his windows , and he often struggled to keep himself from losing feeling in his freezing extremities . 

that was cruel to a previous version of leaf , but now , the word cruel had a whole new meaning . this year , the weather was the last thing on his mind when he woke up on his twenty-third birthday . this year , he woke up nestled in the warmth and the safety of florian’s apartment , in the cosy bed beside his love , who gently ran fingers down the freckled back with the great , still healing wound down it . it mightn’t have been summer , but things were bright , and the fact that there was a blizzard to be seen through the curtains that florian kept open - as he knew his partner enjoyed to look out into nature - hardly reached cruel on leaf’s scale of feelings .

what really was cruel was the fact that even on his birthday , leaf awoke and soon settled into his trauma , his mind replaying vivid memories of the attack that he endured alongside of his sibling and so many good friends . it was a terrible feeling , colder than the winter outside - that was real cruelty . redefining cruelty wasn’t the only thing to change in leaf as of lately , however , but fortunately , not all of the changes were as horrible as the aforementioned . 

the warmth they had first woken to was returned to them due to one of these changes ; the addition of florian in his life as their partner - the two monogamously together , the two in love , the two dedicated to each other in ways they would never dedicate themselves to another - it was such a lovely thing . the addition of florian , and this relationship , and the comfortable apartment with heating that stayed on consistently throughout winter , it helped leaf grow calmer , it helped to ground them , it helped them escape to the horrific memories they had and slip into some of much nicer content . 

for the first time , leaf experienced a comfortable , cosy , bright birthday . so , he couldn’t exactly go outside and experience the parts of summer that he loved , but as he laid there in bed with the gentle touch of a lover soothing him , he was able to push thoughts of halloween night out of his mind , and instead , he lived in the most beautiful memories of his time spent with florian when the sun still shone overhead and provided them with the perfect climate . 

so this was love , real love , the love that leaf had waited his entire lifetime for . as he listened to florian singing him happy birthday in every language he knew , the different versions on a loop , leaf believed himself to be truly lucky . luck wasn’t a feeling he thought he’d be able to feel again after the attack , but he had been so very wrong . thank god for that .
