The Ten Commandments
1 Then Moses called all Israel, and said unto them, Hear, O Israel, the ordinances and the laws which I propose to you this day, that ye may learn them, and take heed to observe them.
2 The Lord our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.
3 The Lord made not this covenant with our fathers only, but with us, even with us all here alive this day.
4 The Lord talked with you face to face in the Mount, out of the midst of the fire.
5 (At that time I stood between the Lord and you, to declare unto you the word of the Lord: for ye were afraid at the sight of the fire, and went not up into the mount) and he said,
6 ¶ I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
7 Thou shalt have none other gods before my face.
8 Thou shalt make thee no graven image or any likeness of that that is in heaven above, or which is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters under the earth.
9 Thou shalt neither bow thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, even unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me:
10 And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
11 Thou shalt not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his Name in vain.
12 Keep the Sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee.
13 Six days thou shalt labor, and shalt do all thy work:
14 But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: thou shalt not do any work therein, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maid, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, neither any of thy cattle, nor the stranger that is within thy gates: that thy manservant and thy maid may rest as well as thou.
15 For, remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord thy God brought thee out thence by a mighty hand, and a stretched out arm: therefore the Lord thy God commanded thee to observe the Sabbath day.
16 ¶ Honor thy father and thy mother, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee, that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee upon the land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
17 Thou shalt not kill.
18 Neither shalt thou commit adultery.
19 Neither shalt thou steal.
20 Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbor.
21 Neither shalt thou covet thy neighbor’s wife, neither shalt thou desire thy neighbor’s house, his field, nor his manservant, nor his maid, his ox, nor his ass, nor ought that thy neighbor hath.
22 ¶ These words the Lord spake unto all your multitude in the mount of the midst of the fire, the cloud and the darkness, with a great voice, and added no more thereto: and wrote them upon two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me. — Deuteronomy 5:1-22 | 1599 Geneva Bible (GNV) Geneva Bible, 1599 Edition. I finished reading Deuteronomy, and I’m truly grateful that God has given me the determination to finish the first 5 books, and begin my Bible study over again.
What really stood out to me throughout Deuteronomy, was the elaborate covenants, promises, and curses God commanded through Moses to speak to the Israelites. In chapter 28, God lists 14 blessings to obeying Him and keeping His laws and commands, and 72 curses for disobeying Him and going on your own way. And the funniest but significant part of it all, is in Chapter 32, when God tells Moses that Israel will disobey Him once they go into the promised land. God knows they will worship false-gods, and be greedy, and promiscuous, and blameless: yet He still gives the commandments and laws to them, because He loves Israel. He loves his people. He has set them apart, on His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He even set Joshua aside to lead this generation of God’s people, who were constantly bickering, complaining, and distrusting the Lord. He chose Joshua for prophetic inheritance, laid on by Moses.
God knew who these people were, and Moses described them in Chapter 31, as “what rebels they are, stubborn, willful…” and God still allowed them (the next generation after 40 years) to know they can thrive and live abundantly in the land of Canaan, if they love God with all their hearts. He left them with evidence, with documents of His commandments, curses and promises. He told Moses to teach them the Song in Chapter 32.
God performs miracles, and signs, and wonders, and terrible curses on the enemies of Israel; but God was not hesitating on reminding them, that just as He liberated them, He can hand them over to their enemies. And that’s why the Israelites do to themselves, they hand themselves over to the curses and wrath of nations who wanted to kill them - why? Because they abandoned God, and God never left them, He looked the other way. He knew He was going to be as hurt and angered with them, told in Chapter 32, like in the Books of Exodus, Leviticus and Numbers: and still He loves them.
What I took away was the complexity and heart of God’s covenants. He fulfills covenants with love, and commands, but it is the heart of His people, He also knows, who will not fulfill the covenants as He desires. He saved Israel, and spared Israel, with His Grace; and only Moses, could return the favor because He knew God as friends know each other. And Moses failed as well, He struck the rock instead of speaking to it, completely disregarding the faith he should’ve demonstrated in God.
God knows the hearts of His people, yet He also knows the failures of His people. He doesn’t let them go astray without showing that there’s a choice: you follow and obey, and act on my commandments and promises, you know the blessings I will provide. You disobey, and choose to disregard the Lord your God, who has redeemed you, you know the curses that will fall on you and your children.
I want to go into more detail but I think I’ve summarized what I mostly grasp on the surface level of Deuteronomy and the 5 Books of Moses. I cannot wait to study further and see what the Rhema of the Word will reveal to me, more deeply and spiritually.

DEUTERONOMY
5. Deuteronomy
Okay. So here at 119-120 years in age, the loyal and faithful Moses (healthy as ever) addresses Israel in a final series of speeches and written instructions before the people would cross the Jordan into the promised land. He reminds, reaffirms, and expounds on the miracles performed and the covenant made between them and The Father.
Moses would die on a mountain in Moab, and it is written that the Lord buried him in an unspecified place (near Beth-peor), leaving Joshua to lead the Israelites under God’s command.
I don’t have much else to say about this chapter right now, but will share a few scriptures I highlighted:
- Warning Against Idolatry. Deut 4:29-31
- Call to Remembrance & Obedience. Deut 8 + Deut 10:12-11:7
- Choice of Life or Death. Deut 30:11-20
- The Lord Predicts Israel’s Disobedience. Deut 31:14-29
- The Death of Moses. Deut 34
Joshua is next.

I Stand with Israel!
It has been days since the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas launched a large-scale attack against Israel using tactics of infiltration, firing of multiple rockets, violating the Israel-Gaza border, kidnapping and murdering. Israel and the rest of the world were shocked by the sudden attacks and the Israeli authorities under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s leadership have since been working…

Why We Cannot Agree with the World
Today's inspiration focuses on our stance as Christians. I hope it inspires you! #life #faith #worldevents #agree #confusion #randomnestfamily #liveinspired
I thank God for my salvation and my Christian faith. Thank you, Jesus, that you are preparing a place for us! But who are we that God loves us? No seriously! What makes us worthy of God’s love? In today’s live inspired message, we look at “Why We Cannot Agree with the World.” Absolutely nothing. Everything that I own belongs to God. The praise that I am able to give God is only because He has…

This one pic from the Cats Warsaw book just hits me right in the feels whenever I see it
Because in Warsaw Demeter is Grizabella's daughter and according to the book Griz crashed the Ball to see her (and Old D) one last time
And Demeter clearly wants her back but she's too anxious to be the one to take her back/invite her in
But in the end they do reunite
So this shot of Demeter looking up at Grizabella starting her ascent to the Heavyside Layer right after their reconciliation just really hits so hard
Besides the two of them in the photo are Cori and Tanto (right and left of Griz respectively), Old Deuteronomy, and I believe Quaxo

Snow crash is the only Stephenson book I’ve read, but I remember enjoying it. It was so extra even for cyberpunk.
It's so funny and over the top yeah. There's some Stuff in it that makes me want to kill Neal Stephenson with hammers but its also an extremely clever entertaining read

‭Deuteronomy 30:11-12 NIV‬
[11] Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. [12] It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?”
JESUS. JESUS WILL COME DOWN FROM HEAVEN AND PROCLAIM IT TO US
‭Deuteronomy 30:13 NIV‬
[13] Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?”
HE WILL CROSS THE SEAS IN BOATS SEVERAL TIMES AS HE TRAVELS
‭Deuteronomy 30:14 NIV‬
[14] No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.
AND THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL WRITE THE WORDS IN OUR HEARTS
