How to Build a Heart by @mariapadian from @algonquinyr is an #ownvoices #comingofage story coming in January that follows Izzy as her family goes through the process of building a Habitat for Humanity home while she navigates friendships old and new, and as she learns what it means to be a family. If you enjoy YA, then you’ll want to be sure and add this one to your list. • • I injured my leg on Monday. I have spent the whole week at home but unable to move very much. I can be enjoying a book and then suddenly, about 75% of the way through just give up. It’s a horrible habit, but not one I’m likely to give up. I have so many books I want to read that I don’t want to spend my time just trying to get through a book. If it no longer holds my interest, then I move on. • • For the record, I DID NOT have to abandon this book.
