Thank you so much for this amazing post and review! #vampireofcolor #representationmatters #author #lgbtq🌈 #humbled #thankful #Repost @bookzbookzbookz (@get_repost) ・・・ This is my second read by Darlene Burns and I have to say that Alex Races Against the Dawn, the Vampyir Plague, Book 2, was unique. She didn’t shy from what many would have considered taboo, her characters were racy, and bold and the women were filled with strength. Burns puts everything into Alex and the many characters as they deal with something no vamp ever wishes to face. Extinction.
This is Alex Races Against the Dawn. @darlenebtheauthor #alexracesagainstthedawn #vampyrplague #bookseries #thriller #bibliophile #bookrwview #bookvideo *Book cover belongs to author, video and music is my own. https://www.instagram.com/p/ByQWUmdBxod/?igshid=18bsslxnyyib2

I read The Alchemist when I was 15 years old. Though I was mesmerized by some of the philosophical lines like: If you truly desire something, the Universe conspires to get it to you’…something like that… I never quite fathomed as to why this book is so legendary. The understanding came to me years later, and now as I look back, I realize the richness of the book and its worth. The Alchemist, though not very high on plot, gives us some very deep and profound messages of human existence. *Spoilers Ahead* In the book, the protagonist, a young boy named Santiago sets out on a journey to find a prophecied bag of treasure, which is hidden miles away across the desert of Sahara. Once he reaches the spot he had seen in his dream after much struggle, he finds nothing. But there, he meets a man. This man laughs at his stupidity of travelling so far on the basis of a dream, and tells Santiago about one of his own. In his dream, this man had seen a similar bag of treasure hidden in a deserted place of worship - the exact same spot, where Santiago had fallen asleep and had had the dream! Santiago gets the hint from Destiny, travels back to the same place…n at last finds the treasure. But here lies the main question. If the treasure was right under his nose all along, what was the use of the long, tedious journey? What was the meaning of all the struggle? Did it become completely fruitless? It is here that the Alchemist becomes a legend. The author tells us, through the struggles of Santiago, that the real treasure is NOT the bag of gold coins, but the knowledge that he acquired on the way to get it. In other words, it is not the destination but the journey that matters in the end. For people who love fast-paced books, Alchemist may not be the right choice. But I feel, one should atleast skim through it once in his or her lifetime…Some of the lines will stay with you forever. . . #paulocoelho #thealchemist #thealchemistquotes #bookstagram #bookrecommendations #bookrworm #bookrwview #bookreview #booklover #booksbooksbooks #booknerd #bookaddict #instanovels #reviewoftheday #booksofinstagram #bookaholic #bookshelf #bookcommunity #bookobsessed #writersofinstagram (at Maktüb) https://www.instagram.com/p/CEL7iIzjh5w/?igshid=yv73f1rw9loz
