Personally, I agree with the people who say that Sarada is disappointing because being a half-breed Uchiha she can't handle the use of the Mangekyou Sharingan. I've seen theories based on Itachi's first encounter with Kakashi. The latter, tired of using the sharingan so much, Itachi points out that his body is not that of an Uchiha, many fans mentioned that this is why in the Uchiha clan they married among their own members, precisely to avoid this kind of problems, Pointing out Izumi and Sarada, who are not 100% Uchiha, and they commented that they fainted when using sharing They also say that Itachi and Sasuke also got a seizure when using Mangekyo Sharingan, but what I remember is that they abused their ability or used it while being at their limit. Sarada didn't fight, so I don't think it's the first time she used her ability. He must have trained her to figure it out. They also blame Sakura, saying that she never had good physical condition and didn't last that long in battles. They use Gaiden and his constant fainting. I don't know what you personally think, but to me Sarada seems like a character that was only created to show a new generation uchiha. I'm on the same page as other fans: the clan ended with Sasuke; Sarada's children (if she will ever have any) will cease to be uchiha as the generations go by.
Hello anon !
Thanks for the ask! I tried to organize my thoughts. I don’t have any "theories" about Sarada’s "conditions" or her handling of the Mangekyō Sharingan. When it comes to her, I’m more bothered by her writing since the timeskip.
First, I’m going to be honest: this part of your message sounds a bit weird to me.
to me Sarada seems like a character that was only created to show a new generation uchiha.
Because that doesn’t only apply to Sarada. Why do you think Boruto was created in the first place? Or Chocho? Inojin and Shikadai? They were all created to represent a new generation of their respective clans. Boruto is the most obvious example. I mean, he looks exactly like Naruto—blue eyes, blond hair, and the whisker marks. In "Boruto: The Movie," Kishimoto wasn’t shy about showing the parallels. He was compared to his dad at least three times (by Sasuke, then Hinata, and finally Naruto).
He’s impulsive, uses shadow clones, learns the Rasengan, and craves attention and recognition—doesn’t that sound like Naruto? Now, he also has some of Sasuke's traits (though Sasuke is still far better), but he still retains Naruto's impulsivity. I think he’s meant to be a mix of both Naruto and Sasuke.
To be clear, Boruto (the character & the story) was only made for money.
Sarada didn't fight, so I don't think it's the first time she used her ability. He must have trained her to figure it out.
I had to reread the chapter in question. How did you interpret that from the chapter? It’s not just a matter of thinking or not; it’s the first time she uses that ability, and she didn’t train to figure it out.

Sasuke and Boruto talked about the fact that Sarada wasn’t aware she had the Mangekyō Sharingan and that “she will realize it.” I remember Sasuke awakening a new ability from his own Mangekyō Sharingan and understanding it immediately to save Karin.
Sarada is clear in saying that it’s the same for her. This aligns with what Naruto shows us regarding this aspect. Sasuke didn’t need to train his Mangekyō abilities to understand how to use them.

I think the abilities are supposed to reflect what they need the first time they use them. Just like Sasuke, who awakened an ability to save Karin. It seems that the Mangekyō Sharingan is designed to manifest powers that align with the user's immediate needs in critical moments.
I've seen theories based on Itachi's first encounter with Kakashi. The latter, tired of using the sharingan so much, Itachi points out that his body is not that of an Uchiha
Going back to the beginning of your point, it’s definitely true that Kakashi can’t handle the Sharingan as well as the Uchiha because he doesn’t have the chakra reserves or capacity of the clan. But Itachi also states that Kakashi uses it well for a non-Uchiha. Plus, there’s the fact that Kakashi can’t deactivate the Sharingan. You can definitely improve your skills. Kakashi trained hard to be able to use the Mangekyō Sharingan in the second part.
Is it the same for Sarada? Maybe. But let me tell you something: Sarada was using her regular Sharingan just fine during the Chunin Exam and against Boro. In particular, against Boro, she used it multiple times to analyze the fight without getting tired. I believe it’s even the first time she uses the Chidori. Thanks to her, they discover his weakness. You can check it if you want.
She also uses the Cherry Blossom Impact/Sakura's strength effectively too. Just a few examples.

Like, did you see her strength since the timeskip? Did you notice her using her regular Sharingan for anything other than the Chidori? I didn't. It feels like Ikemoto forgot she had other abilities and could use her Sharingan for more than just the Chidori. I totally get why anyone would be disappointed in her writing since the timeskip. I like the ability of her Mangekyō Sharingan. It's something new and interesting. But honestly, it would have been better if she fought harder, like she used to, by utilizing her strength or her regular Sharingan.
At the beginning of the post, I mentioned that I was more bothered by her writing. Let me expand on that. Since the timeskip, she’s super focused on Boruto (everything in the manga revolves around him, honestly). But before that, she had meaningful interactions with her mom, Chocho, and Kawaki. Her friendship with Sumire wasn’t centered around Boruto either. She admired Naruto and tried to be more like him. She even offered her friendship to Kawaki. But now? Sarada and Sakura don’t even share the same panel. She’s a bit worried about Sasuke, but that’s about it. Everything is just about Boruto.
Sarada was a great character before the timeskip. What happened? Honestly, I don't think there will be children after this generation, or at least, I hope not. The manga seems to be getting worse.

What do you think TBV Sarada's Susanoo would look like?
I'd guess it'd look quite similar to Sasuke's, but maybe a lighter shade of purple. Or maybe a bright red to represent the clothes she and her mother wear, or their fiery personalities. I'm not fully aware of how Susanoo design works so I can't really answer

Boruto's writing is terrible, which is why one of the things I never liked was Himawari becoming a jinchuriki. To me, his Uzumaki genes are pretty diluted. Kishimoto made it clear that only Uzumaki could be jinchuriki of the Kyuubi. Naruto created him, as he was half Uzumaki and came in contact with the Kyuubi's chakra while in the womb. I thought it was unnecessary for them to treat Himawari as a Naruto version 2.Instead of showing her using the Byakugan, which to me was a waste to give it to her if they weren't going to show her with the Hyuga.
Hi !
Thanks for your message.
I agree with almost everything! The writing in Boruto is terrible because it lacks depth and direction. Can anyone point to a clear antagonist? Code? He’s ridiculous. Kawaki? His introduction was interesting, but since the timeskip, it’s unclear what he’s really doing. Momoshiki? He chose Boruto as his vessel, and I guess their relationship is meant to mirror the bond between Kurama and Naruto, but Momoshiki is barely present. Amado? I’m still waiting for him to actually do something. And what about the human god trees? Eida and Daemon? It’s hard to understand their purpose in the story.
I know Naruto had multiple antagonists, but they had clear roles and interesting backstories. They weren’t ridiculous; they were dangerous. Boruto feels like a mix of Naruto and Sasuke, but there’s no character to balance him out. Naruto and Sasuke had each other, so if you preferred one over the other, you could still follow the story. But Boruto? It lacks a second protagonist.
I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, but Boruto isn’t a very interesting character. He’s improved, but he’s still trying to fill the shoes of both Naruto and Sasuke, which is a big ask. As for Himawari, she was pretty transparent until the timeskip. Is she supposed to be a mix of Naruto and Hinata? It’s hard to say. Kishimoto and Ikemoto clearly don’t want to expand on the Byakugan, or we would have seen that in the manga, not just in a little comic for fun.
Her desire to help Boruto is fine, but her connection to Kurama feels forced and lazy. They don’t even try to give her something new; it’s like they’re trying to develop something we’ve already seen in the past but with fewer challenges and stakes. They should have focused on developing her Byakugan instead. Personally, I find that dojutsu kind of meh, but the idea of it changing her personality could present an interesting challenge. Unfortunately, Naruto and Kurama are more popular than the Byakugan and the Hyuga clan.
Her 'awakening' of the Byakugan is also bullshit because you either have it or you don’t. However, I suppose it’s more acceptable than her getting Kurama, since at least it could be explained by the fact that she isn’t a 'pure Hyuga.'

Ok, this might be a bit of an unpopular opinion, but personally, I don't like Ēida, Sarada, or Sumire. And it’s not mindless hate—I just don’t connect with them, and I feel like their characters aren’t being used to their full potential.Ēida, for example, just doesn’t interest me. Her design is cool, and yeah, she introduced a new Dōjutsu, which was nice… but beyond that, she just feels like “another character” thrown in to stir up drama. She doesn't really add much and stays pretty surface-level.Sarada actually had me at first. She was developing pretty well before the timeskip. But after that? It feels like her growth completely stopped. Instead of progressing, she regressed. Now she reads more like Sakura 2.0 than someone with her own unique potential.Honestly, part of me thinks Sasuke shouldn’t have had kids. It kind of took away from the way his original story wrapped up, Sumire… I never really warmed up to her. I don’t understand why they let her live when she was fully on board with her father’s ideology and with Root. Boruto protected her, sure, but I wouldn’t have. Her father literally contributed to Naruto’s horrible childhood because of his loyalty to Danzō.And on top of that, she has Hashirama cells… again. That plot device has been used to death.Overall, I just haven’t been impressed with the female characters in Boruto. They lack the strength, charisma, or narrative weight they could’ve had; And honestly, that frustrates me because the anime/manga had the perfect chance to do something different with this new generation.
Hello anon!
You're talking to someone who don't really like Boruto. So... I get you anon!
Eida is like the other characters; she has a cool concept, but there is no direction. Why is she even there? She loves Kawaki so much that she changes the reality of everyone, then apologizes to Boruto for doing it. After the time skip, she says she's no longer interested in understanding her power or reversing the effect? Her little character development really went to waste. Her relationship with Kawaki didn't change at all; if anything, it only got worse. She's just there for the drama, and that's her reaction to Sumire and Sarada's conflict.

I agree about Sarada. She was progressing well enough before the time skip, but since the beginning of Two Blue Vortex, she has lost her potential, and everything she does is connected to Boruto. Her friendship with Chocho? Forgotten. Her relationship with her mom? Well, she cares a bit about Sasuke—one panel, and that's about it. Even her friendship with Sumire revolves around Boruto. Her abilities aren't utilized well either; she does a few Katon techniques, Chidori, and awakens her new power.
I didn't watch the anime, so I don't know anything about Sumire's background. In the manga, she's very forgettable. Except for her crush on Boruto, she isn't well anchored to the story. I'm going to compare her to Hinata (and no, Sumire isn't a Hinata 2.0). Hinata was also a supporting character with a crush on the main character, but she had other things going for her, even if they weren't developed much. She had her clan, Neji, Kiba, and Shino, Kurenai, and her abilities were (a bit) developed. Sumire, on the other hand, feels like she's just there for someone who only reads the manga. There's no conflict, no interest, and no background. She's a scientist? Okay, but what is she doing in particular? Assisting? In the anime, she has Hashirama's cells... but what's the purpose? I don't think the things they introduced for her in the anime will be used in the manga, or they would have already been included.
For me, I haven't been impressed by any character in Boruto. The problem isn't only with the female characters; they all lack purpose, charisma, and direction. The older generation is kind of... useless since they sealed Naruto away. They also sealed Sasuke away. They really deserved better, poor guys. Sakura and Kakashi are nowhere to be seen. Shikamaru—oh well, what did they do to you? And Konohamaru... I'm supposed to believe he's Asuma's nephew? He doesn't fill Kakashi's shoes as Team 7's sensei. I'm not saying Kakashi was the best sensei in the world, but he had amazing moments. I can't even tell what Konohamaru did in the manga—teaching the Rasengan for two days to Boruto? Being saved by Boruto?
