Monday evening Morning Glory Farm prepared the containers at our local library for the fall planting and planted #seeds and started #plants . A few years ago we attended the training program offered by @clemson_extension to educators and 4-H agents and volunteers. “The program is part of a multi-agency, farm-to-school initiative, directed by the College of Charleston, aimed at improving academic and health outcomes among South Carolina children and opening the school nutrition market to local farmers.” So now we help start gardens in our community to benefit children. This is now year 3 at the library. The goal is to have as many children involved in the project as possible. They along with the library staff and patrons will be able to taste the produce and enjoy its beauty. Planted in the box, #collardgreens , #carrots , #radishes , #beets , #lettuce , #broccoli , and #beans . #sweetpeas were planted in a separate container.
