Outdated posture, the rest is canon
maanul botanists will wear "heavy" gear compared to what maanuls usually wear, as they go into territory that is mostly foreign to them. They venture further than most maanuls ever will just for collecting plants, fruits, if not flowers. Botanists are closer to gardeners than scientists.
Stüstümali was known for having a wide variety of plants collected throughout the years. Having various terrariums in a closeted room, collecting some bugs to go with it too. With excellent pottery knowledge, she would sculpt her own pots and place them all around the house.

I'm really enjoying the variety of life at university at the moment. I've gotten involved in a lot of fun botanical events, and it's always nice to be reminded of the diversity of people and jobs there are in botany. Visiting my favourite cafes near college has also been top of the list of highlights!

I will also be GMing the Botany & Dragons game on Wednesday night. Be there or be square.

The doors to science for too long were shut to women—and the struggle continues—yet women still have managed to contribute invaluable work. Here are 5 open collections on JSTOR that feature the work of important women botanists and botanical artists.

Finished render for the solarpunk botanist! Like I said, I wanted to draw something based on round shapes and using greens for quite some time now! I am pretty happy with this design given I don't really draw science fiction and this was mostly trying out the popular style of it. We need more hopeful futuristic ideas, terraforming, saving green and all that. Also I know there's been some discourse how hexagons are too overused for sci-fi but I love them, so I had to use them in the background :D

I get such a wonderful feeling walking through the Victorian glasshouses in Dublin, and each time I go I get to learn more. I'm delighted to see that they're adding more educational signs in the botanical gardens, as for my whole life I've always wanted to know more and feel involved with the botanical world. I'm happy all the aspiring botanists will be able to come away with more fun facts now!!
Botanical gardens are such a wonderful place, and I'll always be grateful for this amazing resource! More botanical gardens everywhere please!!!!
