Gregory and Glamrock Freddy getting some unique help

Five Nights At Freddy's. A series that I never played but observed through playthroughs and theories by MatPat. I honestly didn't see the games getting my attention until Security Breach. Maybe it's the added bonus of a concrete story and interesting characters that might get me to buy it. Anywho... Can be read as gender neutral or preferred gender. Your role will be maintenance but your secret role shall vary in any further instances. Contains spoilers for Security Breach. Enjoy!

Working at the Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex wasn't something you expected of doing. Yet here you been for a few months.

If your friends from your last job saw you, they'd get a kick out of it. No doubt bringing it up at the upcoming reunion over a cup of Gray Earl tea.

The pay was good and surprisingly all the animatronics liked you. All of their responses being so humanlike that you were amazed yet equally concerned.

Fazbear Entertainment had an infamous reputation that they prefer covering up than taking responsibility. They suck at hiding information from you more than keeping their old businesses alive.

Anyway, you knew all the animatronics normal behavior from the Glamrocks, both sides of the Daycare Attendant and DJ Musicman. So when Glamrock Bonnie suspiciously got trashed, you knew something was up.

Those suspicions only growing from the humanlike robots acting odd and sudden children disappearances until Freddy crashed one day on STAGE.

You were close friends with Freddy and had been there to help him emotionally when Bonnie got destroyed. So seeing the bear go down like that on stage was a horrible flashback in your mind.

Now what you didn't expect is to find Freddy with a little boy in First Aid. Said boy or Gregory got defensive until you managed to persuade him and the bear vouching for you.

In fact, Freddy was confused about why you were still here. A moment that had your friend just as shocked as you were. Chica bugged out and attacked you.

Explaining to the two that you discovered some sort of malicious virus on everyone's hardware. Something that made the other animatronics deadly and Freddy to glitch.

The bear was only safe as the animatronics recognize each other as 'Friendlies'. Anyone else was prey like you or Gregory.

Freddy became understandably upset until you explained that you could get rid of the code. You weren't the best tech wiz at your old job for nothing.

There were four things required: the data found in Princess Quest games, the strange upgrades given to Chica, Monty and Roxy and a Level 10 security pass.

The fourth was for last as it came from the code's source. And that meant finding the true culprit. As much as you hated it, Gregory would be safer with the both of you than outside the Pizzaplex right now.

So a system was made. Freddy and you would take turns helping the boy. If something happened to both of you, you gave Gregory something he could you as a last resort. Your old service pistol.

Under a serious promise, the boy promised to not use that pistol unless as a last resort. You did upgrade his Faz-cam and Faz-blaster so he had a better chance against the Animatronics.

You did apologize to Freddy and to the respective Glamrock that had their upgrade recently taken. Hurting them absolutely sucked and you were going to tear the w*nker responsible for this chaos apart.

Apparently even Vanessa was a victim to this as well. You had gotten attacked by psycho bunny mascot and aptly disarm and knocked them out. The person being the nightguard who also had a connection to the mysterious Princess Quest games that appeared one day.

Once Gregory gotten the data and Vanessa woke up, she came back to her senses alongside the service bots. After explaining what's going on, you requested her, Freddy and Gregory's assistance.

A temporary antivirus had been made to push back the malevolent code. Something that needed to be administrated to all the animatronics. Then all of them needed to get out of the building so the source could be taken out before it tries to regain control.

It was the final showdown and much to your surprise, both Gregory and Freddy were determined to see this through with you. Vanessa would keep the other animatronics and Glamrocks safe.

Below the Pizzaplex was the culprit and skeletons of Fazbear Entertainment. An bloblike amalgamation of the various Animatronics from the old diners and Pizzerias. Alongside the killer of all those children, a machine like corpse dressed as the rumored 'Spring Bonnie'. Springtrap or Burntrap to put it aptly.

And the bastard had the missing parts of Glamrock Bonnie. Consider yourself thoroughly pissed off. If you were any normal person, then you would've played the game of 'Hide and Burn the Rabbit'.

But you? You were 'Merlin', Legendary Tech Support and former member of the Kingsman Secret Service. You were 'On Leave' to find yourself after a great disaster in the agency, that didn't mean you wouldn't fight.

With some help from Freddy and Gregory, you manage to upgrade those various incinerators with enough power to match high grade lasers and a remote self destruct that would burn everything to ash.

Once the three of you got out of the Pizzaplex and the 'Blob' had Burntrap in its grasp, you lit the entire building skyhigh. Leaving nothing but a crater behind.

Before heading back to England for your workplace reunion, you manage to snag somethings.

This was how you, Gregory, Vanessa, Freddy, Monty, Chica, Roxy, DJ Musicman and the Daycare Attendant ended up partying at the Kingsman Reunion together with your coworkers alongside a repaired Glamrock Bonnie but also Glamrock Foxy. Fazbear Entertainment finally getting exposed all the way to rock bottom bankruptcy. Justice had been rightfully deserved.

I saw Kingsman the other day and this has been running through my head since. Just know that these are going to end with Fazbear Entertainment getting screwed with everyone else minus Burntrap have a good ending.

Will there more of these? Probably but your secret role will VARY in all sorts of ways. From reasonable at best to downright insanity. If I do a continuation of a part, I'll list it down as such.

Ugly packaging means slow-moving product, and a great design conveys a strong message. When a company introduces products with great design, it conveys the message that the company has good communication, a quality product, strong branding, a good understanding of its customers, and that it cares about the presentation of their product. 

Vape juice bottles are items that customers tend to collect, after all. Who wants to add an ugly bottle to their collection? So, without further ado, here are 10 of our favorite vape juice brands with great packaging:

10. Vapetasia

Vapetasia is a brand with a fun aesthetic. The vaper demographic tends to be young, edgy, alternative adults who grew up with the Internet, Adult Swim cartoons, and skater brands like Savage, Thrasher, and Stussy. Vapetasia does a terrific job of encapsulating everything that this demographic finds nostalgic and fun without directly exploiting that nostalgia.

The mascot for the Killer Kustard line of vape juices by Vapetasia reminds us of the heroes of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, as a character that is personified food with a thick black outline and expressive features.

The Vapetasia logo itself is also fun, having two variations — the cloud which has icons from all of its juice brands:

and the simple, iconic Vapetasia name. I have found that people wear Vapetasia branded swag freely, simply because even outside of its context as an e-juice brand, it is a groovy look.

9. Enfuse - Pulp

We admit a personal bias here, because Enfuse is a brand local to Toro Imports HQ here in Houston, Texas. However, there’s a lot to be said for its logo and packaging design for their line of Pulp e-Juices.

While the Enfuse logo is simple and conveys what the brand is, the packaging for Pulp reminds us of packaging for food and beverages. The Pulp packaging is classic, readable, and beautifully conveys the flavor with its mostly bi-chromatic color scheme that makes the box itself into a watermelon and lemon hybrid.

The packaging is bright, appealing, and while not as cartoonish and playful as Vapetasia, still has its own crisp, minimal illustrations that make the bottles fun to collect as well as delicious to vape

8. Naked100

Naked100 is one of those brands that you can count on consistently flying off the shelves. Each bottle has a very minimal aesthetic that strives not to give the consumer more visual information than they require — the brand name, the e-juice line, nicotine strength, flavor, etc. 

No additional design elements are ever added to the packaging, which makes the brand unassuming, yet very stylish.

Naked100’s sans-serif font and minimal aesthetic remind us of Apple or Google, strong brands that also strive not to over-design their products. The brand is also careful not to under-design their packaging, either: all of their juices come in an eco-friendly glass bottle with very pale, subtle colors on the labels.

Aside from their innovative flavors, Naked’s sophisticated and thoughtful packaging makes it stand out from the competition as one of the best juices out there.

7. Nasty Juice

On the opposite side of the design spectrum from Naked100 is Nasty Juice. According to their company bio, Nasty Juice is a company founded on the idea of being an “obnoxious e-juice brand” with an “empowered sense of X-rated […] playfully daring spirit”. Standing out from other vape juice brands on this list, Nasty Juice vocally prides itself on its “exquisite advertising and top notch packaging”, which it easily accomplishes.

Nasty Juice, like Vapetasia, understands its alternative, millennial consumer base, diving into design language of skater brands and hip-hop aesthetic. Nasty Juice, much like RAW Rolling Papers, even produces its own skateboard decks and apparel with their signature fun illustrations. We love Nasty Juice not only because they are hugely popular, but because their thoughtful packaging and branding earns the popularity.

Just look at this guy. Nasty as can be.

While each of their line of Nasty Juices have unique packaging, every single bottle is easily identifiably Nasty™.

6. Nasty Juice x Kilo Collab

We just had to bring it back to Nasty Juice, because this collaboration between Nasty Juice and Kilo is absolutely stellar. 

Nasty Juice tends towards its high-contrast, pop culture skater illustrations, while Kilo has a high detail, classical, almost baroque style of packaging. When you combine the two, you get this line of amazing illustrations and packages that remind us of Alphonse Mucha and vintage tobacco ads.

The packaging for the Nasty Juice x Kilo collaboration, to us, shows enormous respect and love for their consumers, knowing that the swag and bottles would be a lot of fun for fans of the individual brands to own. Kilo has a great aesthetic in its own right, but when combined with the powerhouse that is Nasty Juice, they come together to make a gorgeously detailed piece of artwork on every bottle.

5. Alternativ by Marina Vape Co.

Marina Vape Co. is a company that understands the other side of its consumer base that Nasty Juice and Vapetasia don’t quite reach — the sophisticated, yet edgy adults who are also likely big fans of the design of Naked100 bottles. While not quite as minimal as Naked100, the Alternativ juice line by Marina Vape Co. has a strong, informed design language of its own. Each juice is named after Greek letters, while using typography and design elements that are very much from the advanced digital age.

Alternativ e-Juices Alpha through Omega do a beautiful job of showcasing the transcendence of nicotine consumption from traditional smoking to high-tech vaping techniques, while also alluring the consumer with its fruity color schemes.

Like Naked100, the Alternativ vape juice packaging is not over designed, and only has some design elements that aren’t directly giving you information. We love the classy, stylish look of this juice line

4. Fresh Pressed by California Grown E-Liquids

Going back to fun and illustrative, yet a little more modern, Fresh Pressed juices by California Grown E-Liquids reminds us of Enfuse Vapory’s Pulp juices. The logo condenses its flavors into one succinct space, and the entire aesthetic makes the juice line feel very “fresh”, as it claims to be.

The finish on Fresh Pressed bottles is glossy with contrasting metallic and glossy shine, and the illustrations are minimal, yet very appealing.

We are particularly big fans of the high-contrast packaging used for the Fresh Pressed line of Salts. Using its flowery, decorative logo splashed against a matte black background, this packaging is downright sexy.

3. Levels

While the packaging design for Levels is not very illustrative like other brands on this list, it is indeed thoughtful and intriguing. Utilizing design language of the 80’s such as Neon signage color schemes and fonts, Levels understands that its bottles need to earn their place in a customer’s vape juice collection.

This juice brand is for fans of the Terminator, the San Junipero episode of Black Mirror, and the more seasoned of their target demographic who actually lived through the 80’s. 

What impresses us about the packaging for this juice brand is how it conveys a feeling, a time, and a place while giving us very little visual information besides lines and color, with no real change in color values or shading.

2. Coastal Clouds

Coastal Clouds is a hugely popular brand that positively flies off the shelves — in part, we believe, due to their amazing packaging and illustrations.

Like Marina Vape Co., Coastal Clouds utilizes a maritime design aesthetic, making consumers feel like they are inhaling fresh fruit right by the seaside. Coastal Clouds manages to work in the digital age information and inherent newness of vapor products in their vintage packaging feel seamlessly. 

The old-school shape of the label and logo are vectorized, as are the illustrations of the flavors each bottle contains. The color schemes are muted, not overbearing, yet still ‘pop’.

Each design element on the bottle is perfectly balanced with the other elements. While some brands like Nasty Juice can tend to ‘crowd’ the information on their packaging against their vivid, detailed illustrations, all of the information on Coastal Clouds packaging is perfectly legible and beautifully described.

Also, they’re delicious.

1. Psycho Unicorn by Puff Labs

Psycho Unicorn earns first place on our list for design for making us stop and stare every time we pass their bottles in our store. We are suckers for vaporwave aesthetic here at Toro Imports, as is most of their demographic — making Psycho Unicorn by Puff Labs a clever play in packaging design.

One of the latest and greatest crazes in fashion and art nowadays is Glitch and Vaporwave. Psycho Unicorn perfectly merges design language from the 80’s and 90’s, a nostalgia factor for both sides of the vaping demographic spectrum. The illustrations for Psycho Unicorn are as appealing as they are hilarious, which shows that although they understand the importance of great packaging design, they don’t take themselves so seriously that they can’t inject humor in their product.

Psycho Unicorn is stylish, fun, and shows a deep understanding of their consumer base, which makes it our #1 favorite packaging design for vape juices.

QUESTION 1. What is your favorite scene in the comic so far and why?

one of my favorite scenes is actually really depressing XD but i really like the small part of a scene after cosima beats joreal and velver passes by her looking for her. https://tapas.io/episode/974705 something about the illustration on this page is so expertly crafted. like, you can just take one look and see cosima is in shock and kind of dead instead, and the fact its conveyed in such a brief and brillaint way amazes me.

in the meantime, another scene i liked was in the elven court where velver did manipulative mumbo jumbo towards nocturne by playing to her fears on being the proxy for chaos. that was just some beautiful a-ok emotional stake driving right there. though i do wonder how much of it was on purpose or if velver was being a jerk. but i like the fact that i dont know for sure because it keeps velver as a bit enigmatic

another scene im fond of is when nocturne she tells Chaze "nope you gotta figure out how to get yourself out" after freeing him. Chaze has some really great expressions. But i also like the story itself turns my expectations on their head by having Chaze really actually mostly figure out how to escape himself.

speaking of head turns, and not so much a scene, but i like that cosima orchestrated her own escape from the brothel and noped out. like im used to stories where the protagonist misbehaves only a fraction (like explore the brothel after being told no dont do that). but cosima just nopes out of there and heads for home, which is a fitting reaction for someone her age.

oh yeah i forgot about that moment in the larger scheme. but that was a really great moment. and again, kind of a more realistic reaction in a sense. cause i think those sorts of things are what ppl expect if they get told theyre the chosen one.

QUESTION 2. Throughout the comic, Velver seems to be up to his own sorts of goals. What do you think Velver’s goals even are? Are they personal, or is this the will of the supposed Church? What do these goals have to do with manipulating the elves to war with the merpeople? What outcome do you think people are hoping to achieve by starting it? Who is Kader, and what’s their intent with Cosima/Riga? Do you feel Velver is loyal to Kader, or is Velver playing the field to achieve his own ends? Lastly, how does Velver know Jorel, and why did Jorel call Velver a traitor?

i will try and tackle the last one first. i feel as if velver must not have always been part of the church by the fact hes a traitor. instead, he joined the church later when he saw the people he was with were "evil." though personally i feel like jorel's group wants to stop the prophecy a different way versus what the church is up to? but this is mostly based on the fact i cant necessarily picture jorel as part of this so-called church

i could be wrong and its totally opposite and the hunters dont realize velver is a double agent who hates the church

im gonna go out on the limb and say i think velver is playing both fields and trying to decide for himself what the best outcome is. and that while he's doing kader's bidding for now, he ultimately is after something else that makes following kader necessary.

i definitely also feel that kader is definitely for sure evil. cause something about the breaking of strings and velver's reactions makes me pretty sure they're a tyrant. XD which makes me pretty sure that they actually dont care about light beating the dark. they just want cosima's powers to do cool power things. maybe take over a kingdom

Re: The scene after the dead parents, yeah, that whole section somehow rang really true, the whole "my parents will be so annoyed I don't want to have to deal" morphing into the "what is even my life now". Also, kudos on illustrations in general.

Velver's an interesting cookie. Joining up later makes sense, particularly if that made him a "traitor" to some. I feel like he's his own agent, rather than working for anyone else... not necessarily that he's trying to engineer the best outcome either, just that he thinks he has some role to play, prophecy wise.

Namely that which one of them is good/order or evil/chaos hasn't necessarily been decided yet. Velver's pegging Cosima for the former, but it could be the other girl, so he's goading her too.

QUESTION 3. Many of the events of the comic come about for one reason: Cosima and Nocturne are destined to fight according to a prophecy and past precedence of their past selves. Do you think The Origin Story about Riga and her sister is true, or do you think there’s some critical information missing from it? Do you believe the prophecy is destined to come to pass, or are Cosima and Nocturne going to find a way to avoid fighting each other? Why do you think Cosima was kidnapped as a child but not Nocturne? In present times, what do you think will happen when Cosima catches up with Nocturne? Do you think Cosima will learn to control her powers inherited from Riga better, or will they ultimately be her undoing? What about Nocturne? Will she overcome her own issues regarding the prophecy?

i dont think that old. but i mean i guess its possible. though they must of messed up real bad cause neither velver or jorel killed each other.

so im saying it now cause of that flashback cosima had at some point (which i dont remember where). i think this is one of those situations where what ppl believe is a lie. someone else hurt riga and someone kept turning the new incarnations against each other. and eventually it devolved into a myth and such, as myths tend to do

Yeah, there has been some interesting flashback/imagery stuff. Like when she reached for someone, and the image shattered and it was Velver (if memory serves).

I wonder if Cosima's friends have a role to play too. Maybe in a big twist, it was really one of them.

Speaking of though, the plot has been very clever in rolling out it's cast. Gradual enough to come to terms with each new character, but teasing others that end up with bigger roles later on. I'm reminded of an early scene when Velver was spying on Cosima - and Nocturne was spying on him. Layers.

I imagine it scans differently too when you're seeing it as it comes out versus binging, but I felt like the pacing was done well for the cast.

on the side topic of nocturne, i feel like left to their own devices she and cosima wouldn't fight it out to the death. instead theyd be all sister bondy bond, have some tea, etc. so i think for sure its not they themselves who bring the prophecy to pass, its the plans of others who try to grab at the power and turn them on each other. but i also think cosima and nocturne will be obstinate and keep hugging each other screaming no

I'm not so sure about that. Mainly because they might not always have control over their bodies. Like when Cosima went crazy on Jorel for self preservation. Could happen again with unintended consequences.

idk if nocturne would resent cosima for it. cause i mean, at least nocturne's parents are still probably alive in their crystals and werent viciously murdered. though youre right that riga may have other ideas about their bonding and just take over. but then again riga seems to know what velver is up to so riga might not act either.

the bigger danger on seeing nocturne i think is seeing the queen of elves

cause shes the one who might not take kindly to cosima XD

That said, I will willingly ship Nocturne with Cosima's friends.

QUESTION 4. Among the larger threads rests a plethora of other possible curiosities to be solved. Who exactly were Cosima’s parents? Were they working for someone from the beginning, or did they somehow get wrapped up in everything? Who are Cosima’s friends considering they lament that their comfortable lives have changed since Cosima left? Who is Jorel, and why are his orders to kill Cosima? What is the deal with the elves trapped in crystals? As far as the plot goes, how might the Hunters affect what’s going on in general? What about Chaze? Will he be able to stop the war, or is his destiny meant to be something greater than that? In general, what are your theories for the future? What do you think or want to see happen?

Maybe, yeah... also that mention of having the same problem in another 10 years makes me think once again that if the battle doesn't happen the spirits move on again. Or something.

Yeah, maybe the elves in the crystals had a disease? So it's like suspended animation? Because it was mentioned that there were fewer elves than merfolk.

Or maybe they just couldn't make enough food for the city, so this means fewer mouths to feed. Swords apparently grow in the crystals, but I guess vegetables don't.

hmmm from the phrasing i feel like the implication is more that nocturne will kill riga? and kader will have to wait a decade for riga to be reborn again so they have to restart the kidnapping process. but i could be wrong.

As to the future, I really don't think I can call it. Too many moving pieces. I also wonder a bit if maybe the Circle's hiding elements of the prophecy, accidentally or otherwise.

Ahh, I see... no, that's possible. Doesn't necessarily negate the Velver/Jorel reincarnation issue though, maybe the host doesn't need to die.

(Yes, I'm back to that theory.)

its a possible theory. though like i say theyd really have to mess it up for this to be a thing. i do think parts of the prophecy are hidden

though maybe its a bit of both

in that theyre purposefully hiding some of it

but then theres parts that they just missed

and are gonna go through their archives and go "oops"

Incidentally, just want to shout-out here too for the translator. I noticed the comic's originally in German, and gets translated. Can't be simple coming up with the terms like for the "virtual loop" forest.

(Maybe the original German prophecy got translated so many times it's being misinterpreted. )

Okay, final theory. In a massive plot twist, Cosima's cat app saves the day. All the outside world needed was technologies to unify the different groups.

Oh! And shout-out to some of the fun cartoony poses. I feel like those would be fun to draw. (Or maybe not draw, but see once drawn?)

haha i did kind of hope it would go that way tbh. that by the end the worlds recombine and they figure out that technology is awesome and puts less pressure on the whole magic business.
