just had a job interview where they asked me to tell them a funny story and I panicked trying to think of a work appropriate funny story and burst out laughing, which was apparently a correct answer bc it was a test to see if I was fun enough for their work culture?? job interviews are so bizarre

you don't have to love each and every part of yourself if you don't want to/just can't yet. you haven't gotten a bad grade in self love if you just can't bring yourself to forgive all of your demons. you can love yourself the way we love our parents--with all the painful nuance and love mixed with hate mixed with pity mixed with disgust mixed with something resembling forgiveness mixed with a vow to never, ever forget the sins committed. and then one day find you can love even the ugly, rotten parts. or not. or something in-between. you can do whatever you want forever.

[unnecessary rambling set off by that one hyperspecific poll] fr though I've always kinda considered myself to be like an honorary Pastor's Kid™ because A) both my grandpa and my uncle are pastors, B) ALL of my closest friends growing up were the children of pastors, youth pastors, and sunday school teachers, and C) BOTH of my parents fluctuated between varying degrees of quasi-pastorhood for the vast majority of my childhood.
