OK, lo ammetto: non sono un fan della serie 800 di B&W. O del marchio stesso in generale a dirla tutta... Devo, però, ammettere che la cura con cui sono realizzati i crossover delle nuove 800D4 Signature (805 e 801 rispettivamente) è davvero degna di nota. Al di là della qualità delle componenti impiegate, innegabile, mi preme far notare la cavetteria avvolta in materiale morbido per soffocare eventuali "rumori" dovuto alle vibrazioni degli stessi e, chicca non da poco, i resistori di potenza (probabilmente a foglio metallico per cui privi di qualsiasi componente reattiva) accoppiati direttamente allo schienale del diffusore che funge, quindi, anche da dissipatore di calore così da dare inerzia termica e linearizzarne la deriva. I “lost” my good headphones a week ago. Of course I have just stored them in a tiny shopping bag which was sitting on the floor of my bedroom and waiting for me to tidy up to find them. D’oh!! barely covers it. I bought these headphones three years ago and I always remember the first time I put them on, after wearing iPhone earbuds for years, and I realised how much I’ve been missing. I was going to buy another set even though they cost $200 (BTW: Beats headphones cost as much but the driver, the critical acoustical component, is the same as a pair of $20 headphones. A few years ago someone did a tear down and found a $150 pair of Beats headphones has $14 in components, including lead weights to make them feel more substantial.
