I love Jodie Whittaker and I think her run as the Doctor is fun but I'm beginning to realize I can only really enjoy it if I turn off my brain and forget the past seasons, ESPECIALLY Capaldi's run, never happened.
The more I say out loud the problems I have with the story the more I realize the story just isn't making any sense and it's frustrating. Did Chibnall just ignore the Moffat era of Doctor Who all together????
What in the actual name of god was the point of destroying the Master's/Missy's character arc for? What is the point of destroying Gallifrey all over again after we JUST got it back a few years ago and haven't gotten to explore barely any new plotlines from it like new or old Time Lords?
First, Missy/the Master can STILL fight with the Doctor even though they have empathy for others now. We've SEEN Missy disagree on how they would go about things and how their definition of good and kindness differ from the Doctor's and how it can cause conflicts where they fight over the right way to go about something. The newest Master while I love the actor and acting cause the dude is doing phenomenal with what he was given is...it just makes no sense at ALL. The Master is smart enough to know and not get mad at the Doctor for something they couldn't control like being the Timeless Child and being the reason for regeneration. The Master could possibly feel abandoned due to the last episode of series 10 but at the same time Missy didn't tell the Doctor her plan of betraying her past self to help him (the Doctor) so that's ALSO kind of not a realistic reason to be mad because Missy/the Master would know there's a reason he didn't come for them. The Master has ZERO reason to be that mad and murder all of Gallifrey. THERE IS NO REASON FOR IT AND AGAIN IT MAKES ZERO SENSE!
Also I have no issue with the Timeless Child being the Doctor like I know some do and that's valid. I think it could have been (and still is really) interesting, HOWEVER, Chibnall DID NOT need to destroy Gallifrey all over again. WHY? WHAT WAS THE POINT??? THERE WAS NONE!!! Gallifrey is so out of the way at the end of the universe where no one can find them so if Chibnall's like "It could have caused problems" it hasn't for the past what...7 years? Why would it now? They're trying to keep their existence secret so honestly the only time we'd see them (Time Lords) is if the Doctor went to Gallifrey OR a few evil Time Lord's wanted to cause problems which they rarely do in the show. It was mostly the Master leaving and starting shit off of Gallifrey. Also he created this super cool sounding Division thing that apparently has been keeping an eye on the Timeless Child situation and decided "Hmmmm...Yup...the Master shall be the villain and NOT the super interesting, possibly scary black ops-esque, group I made that could have been totally awesome new Time Lords who the Doctor can face off against. Nope...it will be the Master...and I'll destroy all of their character development while I'm at it!" This could have been SUCH a cool concept if handled correctly. Hell bring in Braxiatel, ya know the Doctor's brother, as one of the Division members or have him know about it cause he was Lord Burner for a while and have the Doctor realize "Wait so my brother knew the truth? For how long? Did he ever really care about me, cause he let me believe a lie about myself this whole time?" Stuff like that and give the Doctor a dilemma like that since apperently family is such an important thing in this Doctor's run.

Now both Irving Braxiatel and the 12th Doctor have both started out a story with the dramatic opening of: “Space, the final frontier.”
I just love these two nerds so much.

Thoughts on Braxiatel appearing in person on Doctor Who? Doesn't have to be the current era/showrunner (eesh), whatever era of Who you prefer. Any era or Doctor you think would work the best? Any era/Doctor/companion you think would result in an absolute disaster if you threw Brax into the mix? :D
can y'all send some asks that are like “thoughts on ______”
-
I would absolutely love to have Braxiatel mentioned in the show or at least mentioned outright like in the City of Death but I’m very particular about Brax and how his character is handled, it’s got ot be done by the right writers.
For one, it definitely has to be Miles Richardson who gets to appear on screen and two,  I don’t trust Chibnall or the current BBC with Braxiatel character at all so I would have absolutely said yes, I really want Brax on-screen before Chibnall came along.
And actually, Time Heist with 12th Doctor and Clara would have been the PERFECT opportunity to introduce Brax to New Who as that idea is very, very similiar to Glory Days where Brax has a bunch of clones running a bank and Benny and the gang have to break into it.
I would have loved to have seen RTD or Moffat handled Braxiatel though. Especially RTD because he had Paul Cornell do Human Nature episode which was actually based upon the book Paul Cornell wrote for the Virgin New Adventures. Plus, it would have been a delight to see Nine or Ten interact with Brax, I think that would have been great fun to watch!
Plus, can you imagine Brax horrified reaction to the Doctor destroying precious monuments or historical artefacts like in Planet of the Dead? :D

Hell-o, my local Brax guru! I have a question for you, my lady - I know that the audios with Brax feature pre the Time War and during, but are any set after? And I mean like, a good few centuries after? Did he believe that the Doctor destroyed Gallifrey, and did he even care?
Hello, there lovely anon!
There is Big Bang Generation by Gary Russell where the 12th Doctor meets Benny on Legion and tries to name drop Braxiatel or the collection every chance he gets and it’s glorious. (Please, go and read it. It’s such a fun and delightful novel and the doctor basically calls the white rabbit rubbish and Benny meeting another Scottish Doctor is brilliant. Also, Peter, Jack and Ruth are in this too!).
It is known that Brax has been in contact with his future self so he knew the time war was coming. It was one of the major reasons why he set up the Collection (as shown in Gallifrey audios) and why he had helped to set the axis point up to search alternative dimensions of Gallifrey’s.  But there is no story set many centuries after the time war yet.
We have had Soldier Obscura which takes place in Gallifrey; Time War 1 boxset. But I’m really hoping Brax makes a return appearance in Time War 3 as Brax was such a strong point for the time war boxset.
Did he believe that the Doctor destroyed Gallifrey, and did he even care?
Brax has always cared about the Doctor. But he doesn’t wear it on his sleeve (like his emotions, he hides them. Emotions? WHAT ARE EMOTIONS). He hides it but he is proud to be the Doctor’s brother. (Especially in Empire of Glass/Theatre of War).
One of my headcanons is that I think if Brax did survive the Time-War and he knew his brother would too. I think he would have been disappointed in him at first, bitter and angry at destroying Gallifrey but after seeing how scared Brax was in Soldier Obscura, I think Brax would come to accept why the Doctor had to do what he did to Gallifrey. Even if it took them both a long time to heal their relationship with each other.
