Last years 2D madness, featuring the Stonewashed Bredli Python morph! Also known as the Centralian Carpet Python, Bredli are more isolated in comparison to the rest of the Morelia species. They're named after Josef "Joe" Bredl, an Australian crocodile conservationist 🐊 The more you know!
2D アートに戻る、 今回はブレドリパイソンです! ブレッドリはセントラリアンカーペットパイソンと呼ばれています。モレリア・ブレドリはより孤立している。 Josef "Joe" Bredl にちなんで名付けられました!

I've been sitting on a chair looking things up about snakes all day and I'm at a family reunion type thanksgiving and. Well, I'm not the best conversationalist when it comes to family, and all I want to talk about right now is snakes, so this is going about as well as you would expect.

Hello all! My name is Reid, I'm a transguy from the US and I have a deep love for snakes, pythons in specific. I'm saving up to get a Carpet Python, and I'm excited. Currently my wife and I have 2 ball pythons, 1 bearded dragon, 3 rats, and 2 cats.

I have one and it’s been the best snake I’ve ever owned. Takes down food like a garbage disposal, calm demeanor, and can handle temperature/humidity fluctuations without a problem.
Highly recommended!

Todays Snake Is:
The Centralian Carpet Python or Bredl’s Python (Morelia bredli) is a constrictor endemic to Northern Territory, Australia. At one time considered a regional variant or subspecies of the more common Carpet Python (Morelia spilota), this animal was first recognized as its own species in 1981. It has a relatively small range, found only in the heart of the country in rocky outcrops and scrub bush.

About your Disturbing Trend post, this dramatically increases the risk of invasive species being introduced to your local ecosystems. As an example, look at the huge problem in Florida, USA with Pythons that have escaped or been turned loose. Many other examples exist too. The heightened trade in such increases that risk a lot.
Not really. We are only allowed to keep native species . It dose increase the risk of non endemics disrupting the gene pool tho.
for example morelia bredli beeing released in habitat that is populated by the common coastal carpet.
Both are morelia. And attain similar size with similar diet and behaviour.

Does the snake in your background picture thingy belong to you?
Hell yeah!! His name is Seviper and he's a 9 year old central Australian carpet python (or, if you're a lazy Aussie like me, a bredli) I got for my 9th birthday. He's pretty chill but also real shy so when he's not hibernating and I let him hang in my room he doesn't huddle around people or the window for warmth and instead heads into my desk draw right where all the warm electronics are. Wish I had a photo of that to show but alas I am a dumb bitch who always forgets to photograph cool things 😅 Please accept his hibernation stretching instead

I got a baby snake today, hope he likes his tank while he grows into the setup. Should feel safe with so many hides, according to one of the snake people I talked to today. If anyone has advice on whether I should keep him in a smaller tank while he grows, I would appreciate that.

After taking pics of Hircine last week, I put him back in his cup while I took Namira’s pictures. Afterwards, I was about to put them in their enclosures, and Hircine had started to shed.
He could have done that *before* photos but that’s alright, it was cool to watch him finish!

Hey does anybody know how fast bredlis are supposed to grow? My boy is about a year and a half old, three feet long, and he eats and sheds well, but in pictures it seems like other snakes his age or younger are wider. He's calm, but not sluggish, and active, so I don't really want to be worried but should I be feeding him more? I pick mice that are appropriately sized, but is it possible I'm doing something wrong?

Deidre post shed glam shots!! Look at that colour! The red brown really shows the best right after a shed. And look at his gorgeous golden eyes! He’s such a nice docile animal too.
Deidre is a hypo-morph centralian carpet python, also known as a bredli python
