Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the transfer of their academy talent, Brooklyn Lyons-Foster, to Finnish club HJK Helsinki.
The agreement, reached between the two clubs, sees Lyons-Foster…
Naomi Nolan grew up in New Haven, Connecticut to working class parents, a teacher and a grocery manager. She grew up with love and peace despite searching for trouble with her group of friends. Many say, her drive for rebellion was simply boredom, and she'll grow out of it. Then her parents died in a car accident and Claire's phase for rebellion turned criminal. While that is a true story, it doesn't belong to the woman calling herself Noami today. That woman's name is Claire Lyons.
Claire grew up in Brooklyn with both her parents happily until her mother ended her life suddenly. Her father was destroyed but did his best to keep a strong face. Claire idolized her father and after her mother passed their relationship only grew stronger. They lived a lavish life, apartment in Brooklyn and a beach house in the Hamptons where he decided they'd live until the dust settled back in the city. The only thing keeping them in good spirits was her dads new job. It gave them both a place of escape. At nine years old, she remembered spending a lot of her time in his office either admiring the view or finishing up some homework.
As a kid, she didn't know what her dad did, only that she worked with their Hamptons neighbour. He worked for the company for a decade, and was quite successful. One random night, their front door broke down and dozens of people wearing FBI vests walked into her home in search for her father. The teenage girl didn’t understand what what going on, she believed there must have been a mistake. Next thing she knew, she was staying next door for the night after her father was escorted to the back of the police car. Claire was learning about case as it occured, she sat through dozens of trial proceedings, and left each hearing more confused. In the last hearing her father was sentenced to life in prison.
Despite the verdict Claire didn’t believe what every adult was telling her. She didn’t want to believe her father had done this terrible crime he was charged for. Though doctors, psychiatrists, friends, they all pushed her to look at the newspapers, books, podcasts that were talking about her father. It was hard to trust her gut. She was just a kid. Eventually she began to believe that her father was a murderer and since turned cold. She didn’t have any other family, nor did she settle well in any of the foster homes or shelters she had been placed in. Causing trouble everywhere she went, she'd felt betrayed from her own father, if he couldn't keep his promise there wasn’t anyone she could trust.
At 16 she entered a correctional, where she met her cellmate Noami Nolan. On her seventeenth birthday a woman visited her and provided her with proof about her father. Clear evidence that he wasn’t the murderer the world believes him to be, he was framed, by the exact man who’d lent him a hand that started it all.
Now Claire was known as Naomi Nolan. The incredibly bright and independent girl who rose from the ashes of her parent’s car crash. She’s living in Central, New York, in the Upper East Side, continuously searching in companies to throw her money at with investments. While secretly working with a trusted group to make the right relationships with the right people in order to learn more about the very people who pulled her father down for their own protection.
Below the cut is a list of all the characters I have plans for. Please tell me if there are any characters you’d like me to write for or anyone whom isn’t listed I should plan for.

Going Down to ‘Leven Point by the Ozark Highballers - On Sale April 5th!
Jalopy Records is proud to announce “Going Down to ‘Leven Point,” the first studio album from The Ozark Highballers, coming out on April 5th, 2019. The album’s release is scheduled to coincide with their headlining performance at the Brooklyn Folk Festival.
youtube
The Ozark Highballers is a string band from the Ozark Mountains of Western Arkansas, composed of Roy Pilgrim (fiddle), Aviva Steigmeyer (guitar), Clarke Buehling (banjo) and Seth Shumate (harmonica).
The album features 22 all new recordings by the band, along with extensive liner notes and historic photographs documenting the origins of the music.
Pre-Order Here!

Since 2014 the Ozark Highballers have brought their music to square dances, farmers markets, festivals as well as plain old street corners and front porches. Their music reflects the age old spirit and drive of the rural Ozark string bands of Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.
Recorded in Arkansas and mixed at an old farmhouse in Virginia, these recordings bridge the gap between studio recordings and field recordings. The record captures this energizing music in a way that is pure and urgent like a home field recording, and beautifully engineered like a studio album. The songs, stories and instrumentals on this record draw the listener in: They are poignant and transformative, challenging listeners to allow this old and “outsider” music into their present day life, alongside the music on the radio, TV and front pages of the internet.
The Ozark Highballers subvert the norms of the music world in many ways. They come out of a deep history, playing music that exists outside of cities, and without regard to entertainment industry standards, or publicity requirements. Most bands are in a single age group, but The Ozark Highballers is a multi-generational band that has learned their music from family members, elder musicians in their community and field recordings buried in archival collections.
Roy is “the best young fiddler and singer to come out of Arkansas in many many years” says folklorist and producer Eli Smith, while singer/guitarist Aviva is not only a wonderful musician and print maker, but also one the only young female guitar builders in the United States. Roy began playing music with neighbors at the age of eight. He is also a carpenter and operates a small logging and sawmill operation with his brother. Roy and Aviva live outside of West Fork, AR on a small homestead where they raise a couple of pigs, a big garden, and a sorghum patch.
youtube
The band is multi-generational, featuring Clarke Buehling, a nationally recognized, contest winning 5-string banjo master, who has been playing intricate, arcane and wonderful banjo music since the 1960’s. Seth Shumate is one of the best harmonica players in the United States. He plays in the old time style to complement, often note for note, the melody of the fiddle. Seth’s grandfather and great-grandmother both played harmonica in the Arkansas Ozarks of Stone County. Seth currently resides in Dubai, UAE but comes home to play in the band.
The Ozark Highballers have performed at the Brooklyn Folk Festival, Ozark Folk Center, Stephen Foster Old-time Week, Bluff Country Gathering, St. Louis Folk & Roots Festival, Rocky Mountain Old-time Music Festival, and more, and have recently received the Artist 360 grant from the Mid-America Arts Alliance.
Their name comes from an old railroading term. A “highball” freight train is the kind of train that used to speed across the vast open areas of the United States. A highball a signal, from the days of steam locomotives, when a station operator would hoist a large wooden ball up a standard, signaling that the train was clear to make good time.
The music on Going Down to ‘Leven Point has a fascinating provenance, and conveys American history in a visceral manner. As an example, here is information about the very first track:
Their version of Hell Amongst the Yearlings is from Oklahoma fiddler Dick Hutchison (1897-1986). Hutchison was born in far southwestern Missouri. When he was a boy his family moved to northeastern Oklahoma in a covered wagon where he spent the rest of his life. Like the adjacent rolling hills of Arkansas and Missouri, this part of Oklahoma shares a deep wealth of traditional Ozark fiddling. As a young man, Uncle Dick Hutchison worked as a cowboy around Osage County where he was a popular ranch hand because of his fine fiddling at dances held on the ranch. He made multiple recordings and was renowned at fiddle contests and dances. His fiddling was considered by many to be the archetype of Oklahoma Ozark fiddle music.
The title of the album comes from the 11th track, “Going Down to Leven Point to Get a Load of Corn”. The Eleven Point is a beautiful spring-fed river running from southern Missouri to northern Arkansas. Roy learned this tune from the playing of Joseph Mulkey Kent (1874-1959) of Evening Shade, Sharp County, Ark. Mulkey Kent was a well-known contest fiddler, winning 31 first prizes including the 1927 Arkansas State Fiddle Championship held in Fayetteville, Ark. He was recorded by John Quincy Wolf, Jr, PhD, four months before his death. His recordings are held at the John Quincy Wolf Folklore Collection at Lyons College, Batesville, Ark. In 2017 Roy was awarded the Mulkey Kent award for “Outstanding Ozark Fiddling.”
From the liner notes, written by the band:
Old-time is the music of square dances and school houses, church picnics and farm potlucks. It is the music heard on front porches while your hands are busy threshing beans or shelling corn. It is the music of the country, before country music was commercial, and each region of the United States has its own particular sound, from the hornpipes of the Midwest to the Cajun dance music of Louisiana to the driving mountain-breakdowns of Appalachia and the Ozarks. We are passionate about playing an Ozark music repertoire not just because it’s a local tradition that deserves to be carried on, but also because it’s a vibrant part of an ever-growing community in the Ozarks. Our rich tradition of music goes far beyond the “hillbilly” stereotypes and cultural tourism that often mask our region. Ozark music is a vital part of the many colored quilt that is our American musical heritage.
We have spent the last few years researching and learning our local music through various sources such as commercial 78 rpm recordings from the 1920s, old-timers in our community, and field recordings from several University archive libraries. The result is a repertoire that we feel accurately represents the myriad facets of Ozark music tradition at its best. We hope this album will be enjoyable to listen to, while it also documents a tradition and serves as a resource for all those in the old-time music community.

Press Release:
THE TOTAL VOMITORIUM
A tragicomic reenactment of the history of meta-theater from religious ritual to live-streaming, Zoom, and Twitch. The artists transition between multiple genres, genders, ages, tropes, eras, and personae, with Felix Bernstein playing Onkos, the Greek mask of tragedy, and Gabe Rubin playing multiple versions of Eros. They play-through arcane and new modes of performance documentation from Classical diagrams to Victorian photo journals, as well as the parallel domestication of Eros into Cupid. The vomitorium is traced from its origin as a passageway in amphitheaters to the current socially reflexive architecture built for Instagram selfie-stories—comparing the way audiences watch each other watching each other binging and purging media. The impossible wish for a 360-degree perspective is shown to mark both panoptic social media and counter-surveillance tactics; normative and queer gazes. Played on four unconnected screens, Vomitorium is inlaid by Baroque frames—juxtaposing maximalist convolution with the fashionable metaphysics of presence and transparency. Virtually real versions of Vomitorium will be simultaneously made available on the new media app Ortvi.
WORKS
Betwitched (1-channel video; 1 hr.) A stopwatch tracing the stages of grieving attention spans from immersion to alienation to fake depth to deepfakes to Twitching and Zooming—charting the relative degrees of distance and closeness that each platform incentivizes as a method of providing control and relief.
Vomitorium 360° (4-channel video; 3-hr. and 360-video; 1 hr.) Virtual documentation and instant replay of Vomitorium as presented at The Kitchen’s Queenslab space in Ridgewood, NY, in March 2020.
Vomitorium 720° (4-channel video; 7 hrs.) A re-doubly-bound version of Vomitorium, offers a totalizing backstory for Eros and re-members the trajectory of branded artifact distribution from the scarcity of the Disney Vault to the surplus of Disney Streaming. Premieres on Ortvi and at Luma on July 10.
CHARACTERS
Onkos (ὄγκος): Named after the tumorous masks of Greek tragedy, Onkos narrates and annotates performance documentation in a degenerative vicious circle that constantly re-views and revues until preview precedes essence.
Eros (ἔρος) & Anteros (ἀντέρως): Rival cherubic mimes in the Stade du Miroir engage in a mimetic rivalry between vice and virtue; cruelty and tenderness.
Eris (Ἔρις,) & Harmonia (Ἁρμονία): Commentating influencers/muses, who guide Onkos in a debate between theater-y immersion and theatrical alienation.
Anti-Eros (ᾰ̓ντ’-ἔρος): Dark angel who replaces reflexive counter-gazing as the locus of subjectivity with Ejectivity—a vacant, automated watching towards death.
SUMMARY
Eris and Harmonia lead Onkos through a memory palace made up of broken automated tropes from the history of metatheatre, as he attempts to cease looping through the stages of grief.
Eris and Harmonia teasingly reveal stage sets and show off their stagecraft to Onkos in an adaptation of Gian Lorenzo Bernini’s The Impresario.
Onkos leads Eris and Harmonia in a symposium on the splitting and unifying of Eros—from the ancient mythology of brothers Eros and Anteros to Giovanni Baglione’s moralistic splitting of Profane and Sacred Eros as a rebuke to Caravaggio’s Amor Vincit Omnia. Harmonia and Eris then debate various ways of representing queerness and attaining Metaxy (the in-betweenness of Eros). Finally, they trace the shift from hoarding to streaming art, and how this process has always already administered, totalized, and automated by the church and state via the Baroque economy of emblems, collections, and indulgences. And after that, they review the reviews of movie version of the musical Cats.
Eros and Anteros stage impromptu interludes from Theocritus and Ben Jonson to Edna St. Vincent Millay and Heiner Müller.
Anti-Eros delivers Onkos to an ejection of all forms of gazing and reflecting but Onkos re-lapses by binging (and purging) on the sight of yet another Caravaggisti angel.

'Failure runs deep in our club' - These Spurs fans in disbelief after moment of madness
Tottenham Hotspur’s Under-18 side fell to a disappointing defeat against Arsenal on Tuesday, as they threw away a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2.

Spurs’ youngsters have enjoyed an excellent season and went into the game with the Gunners unbeaten in 18 matches.
They quickly established a two-goal advantage through Paris Maghoma and a Harvey White penalty, but Luis Binks was sent off before half-time, allowing Arsenal to press home their one-man advantage in the second half.
Bukayo Saka pulled a goal back in the 85th minute before Brooklyn Lyons-Foster inadvertently turned home Saka’s cross to score an own goal and bring the hosts level with time still on the clock.
Ben Cottrell completed the comeback in injury-time, leaving Spurs empty-handed and extending the Gunners’ lead at the top of the U18 Premier League South to four points.
Spurs’ senior side, of course, fell to a late defeat to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, and fans have expressed their disappointment at yet another late loss.
Take a look at the best of the reaction below!
