Namsoek reminisce at BTS Proof Exhibitions in Seoul and Tokyo

Back in October, BANGTANTV released a video of Namjoon visiting the Proof Exhibition in Seoul. Today J-Hope was shown visiting the same exhibition in Tokyo. It is interesting to compare how they responded to what they saw and what they said about each other and the members.

Namjoon reminisced about the Butter era.

Whereas J-Hope's fondest memories were of Boy with Luv.

Both Namjoon and J-Hope lingered in the room showing their various choreography videos reflecting on the hard work they had put since their debut.

J-Hope, in particular, was nostalgic about the journey they had made together and the role he has had in forming the team. He called Jikook his boys that he had raised.

He named Jin as the youngest member

and having watched quite a bit of Jin content recently, it isn't wrong to say that, off stage and away from the members, he does come off as being rather shy and slightly other worldly. At the Emergency Declaration Premiere he was overawed at meeting the film cast

and at Hobi's listening party he was nervous at the prospect of meeting new people. Jikook weren't the only ones hiding in corners that night and didn't he escape early to go home and play video games.

J-Hope also said he raised Taehyung.

As expected both Namjoon and Hobi end their videos with an invitation to visit the exhibition. Little bit far for me to go guys unfortunately.

And it’s lovely or noble or possibly misguided of BigHit not to go for the charts with this release. For that kind of money they really might as well.

Nope. Shipping to the US from Global is at least double that, maybe more, because of the weight. Nice try though.

The standard version alone is a brick, this thing is a concrete behemoth, it’s at least 3 kg minimum, it’s simply not possible.

I want to, y’all, but I just can’t do it. I’m literally flying to an eastern shore in October for that kind of money. This is concert ticket kind of money. If I could crowdfund it I would but everyone who would donate is an ARMY and y’all deserve your own copy.

I love you, BTS, and I have no doubt it’s worth every penny. Especially with whatever this is:

the BDS movement sees it as a form of propaganda to whitewash and legitimize the apartheid state. its one of the most effective ways to "normalise" the occupation.

thats simply not true! please note how currently but also historically, its shown GREAT promise. there's A LOT of proof that it works, which is why they're pushing so hard for it.

I'm Fine

In Hobi's visit to the Tokyo Proof Exhibition, he mentioned that the I'm Fine choreography was really tough. I decided to go back and watch some of the performances to see what he meant.

I'm Fine was performed alongside Idol and Save Me when they did the rounds of the music shows in early September 2018. There are pre-recorded stages for Inkigayo (02/09/2018), KBS Music Bank (05/09/2018) and MBC Music Core (08/09/2018). You can find them all on You Tube. I am using the MBC show for illustration purposes.

There are three things that you immediately notice about the choreography. First, there is a lot of lifting and supporting going on. JHope and Suga have to get into position really quickly to be able to support V as he sings the first line of the song. In some recordings you can see this was not always easy. There is an additional lift at 2.52 mins. These lifts obviously won't have the same impact if someone fails to get in place on time.

Secondly, the performance has a lot of staccato movements. For example, when J-Hope brings each member to attention at 1.38 min or just the constant sharply defined hand gestures. This has to be very well coordinated to have the desired effect.

Finally, there is a lot of changes of position, jumps and cross overs which could result in a pile up on stage if anyone forgot where they actually needed to be or how they had agreed they would get there. I've include the Jimin fancam just to illustrate how much they all individually moved around the stage for this one.

So yes, I see what you mean Hobi mate. You guys never shy away from a challenge and that is why we have such a catalogue of unforgettable performances to go back to as we wait for the next OT7 comeback.

The amount of hate Jimin gets is so strange because it's so unfounded on anything substantial. He's hardly been in any controversy, he doesn't have any scandals - dating or otherwise, he's quite talented (kpop stans can't mind trick me into believing he's not, I've followed hundreds of performers - he's fvcking talented), his music always hits, he's always the kindest to the other members, he's really good looking (unfortunately people do target less handsome performers that don't fit their idiotic standards exhibit a namjoon) and doesn't even seem to have required plastic surgery (something kpop fans seem to hate for some reason which is ironic), he regularly donates to charity and I genuinely cant recall him being problematic. Truly bizarre

I get it and I agree but I've always had a somewhat different opinion on this topic of Jimin receiving hate.

The thing is that while I do think the analysis have all been spot on and I've also posted my own opinions about it that a lot of pjms agreed with. The whole "he can't be ignored. Love him or hate you always have to talk about him" post I made during my sagemariner era that is now deleted along with the account.

But at the same time I've also said and still believe that we try too hard to analyze the hate he gets, we dissect it too much and In the process have made it part of his image.

Yes kpop stans especially male gg stans see Jimin a certain way and their contempt for him stems from misogyny and internalized homophobia or just outright homophobia in the case of straight kpop stans blah blah blah. But at the same time if we come out of our Jimin bubble, you'll realize that kpop stans are just assholes to idols in general. Yes this is a nuanced conversation but generally it literally isn't more than kpop stans hating on idols they don't Stan. Go in the space of other idols and you'll also see them making posts reporting anti tweets just like pjms do.

This isn't exclusive to Jimin, and honestly it's more or less a BTS thing and I hate that we try to make it the former just because we'd rather wallow in self pity on his behalf.

Just like with BTS and most kpop artist, most of these people secretly Stan Jimin or listen to his music as we've seen a thousand times. Kpop stans just love being edgy on Twitter, most times it has nothing to do with Jimin personally and it's also because of the fact that he's the first person they think of when they think of BTS.

Also these drags have been going around on Twitter for so long that most people just parrot them in the heat of the moment regardless of the truth. Even bp as generally liked as they are more than BTS in the kpop community still get hit tweets and tiktoks dragging them.

Like I said multiple times before, I wish pjms would clap back and move on instead of always having to discuss the "why" of it Everytime. You don't know how many times I've seen the stans of other idols talk about the hate their faves receive from kpop stans when I've never seen the idol get hated on, but I just think just because I didn't see it doesn't mean it never happened.

Make a general post asking kpop stans to name idols who get the most hate and everyone's going to name their faves and with proof too.

Kpop stans will never openly praise an idol they don't like, doesn't matter if they do think he's talented. They might token Stan taekook for various reasons but you'll also never see them praise them for their talent and will also claim they're less talented than their ult idols.

They just praise those they Stan and bash those they don't Stan, that's it. They don't care about how good or talented idols are.
