Kim TaeHyung’s Speech

🐯: Hello, this is Sergeant Kim Taehyung of the 2nd Corps Direct Unit, Ssangyong Special Task Force. I have been officially discharged from the military.

For me, my time in the military was a period where I could really reflect on and reset both my mind and body. Now, I feel that I’ve rebuilt myself — physically and mentally — and I’m eager to return to ARMY as soon as possible.

To all the ARMYs who waited for me throughout my service, I want to sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart. Just a little more patience, and we’ll be back with amazing performances.

Also, as I mentioned earlier, many of the officers and fellow soldiers who took good care of me are still serving in my unit. I truly hope they all stay safe and healthy, complete their training without injury, and make it to discharge smoothly.

To the Ssangyong Military Police Special Task Force, the Counter-Terrorism Special Task Force — thank you to the officers and soldiers for treating me so well. I’ll do my best to become someone admirable in the world outside.

🐯When I was young, I slept in my grandmother's room in her arms.

I slept holding a pen and imagining the pen as a sword. When I woke up in the morning, my grandmother's face and my face were scribbled. I was scolded by my grandmother.

🐯My grandmother used to serve Bacchus when guests came, and it was my life pleasure to drink it secretly at dawn. I got in a lot of trouble for that. She was going to give it to the guest, but I drank it all.

"Why do empty bottles appear every morning?" Bcz I drank it all.

🐯My grandmother died suddenly because she was sick. It was when I was performing.

I thought I was going to cry. I had a hard time.

🐯I hope my grandmother's eyes will capture me performing in the midst of many ARMYs.

I wanted to show her me this big, but I couldn't.

🐯I have memories of my grandmother in a pretty place in my heart.

I take Bacchus with me when I go to my grandmother's cemetery. And I said to my grandmother while bowing. My album is coming out soon and I'll try to play this song as far as my grandmother can hear it.

Taehyung’s handwritten letter for Festa for Armys

🐯: ARMY, I wish to see you/I miss you. You are all well, right? I also eat, sleep and train well and am staying healthy as well. Getting a lot of positive energy from young friends ~ peers/unit men~, getting various new experiences with no ends. A bit to boast, I did come first in a few things/areas as well ㅋ though a bit of boasting, I am really good at shooting! ~~~ Receiving a lot of compliments, learning a lot from my Comrad mates in Judo, Jujitsu ~~~ just feels like I got born again!! Just grateful that I can train together with them and am barely catching up. It is such a stimulus. The bodies of my younger colleagues, it’s motivating and I’m grateful to be able to train with them. I did endure a few injuries and getting fews crapes here there. But will not overexert/overdo it really! It is so exhilarating so please understand ㅋㅋ

During free time nowdadays, I dance by myself at the corner. My body itches for it so that I try not to lose those memories, so to not lose my self-identity. I overcame my fear of heights, saying it was not a big deal would be a lie. It really was scary but I overcame. So I am saying I am doing well/staying well so Army should stay well also. Hope you won't get unwell and won’t be afraid/anxious. Even from afar, I, we, Army all are worried about each other so let's stop that and meet soon. I will express all my pent up emotions when I am finally together again with my members and ARMYs. Miss you much. Love you a lot, apobangpo Borahae. Bye
