I have a beautiful tea set passed down from my grandma that she got in Hong Kong when she visited my uncle stationed there well before I was born.

I just spent like a full hour packing it for this move. I swear this, of all my items, is the thing I am most terrified of breaking. (This and my irreplaceable/very personally significant Christmas ornaments.)

I lined the box with bubble wrap. Each item got individually stuffed & wrapped with tissue paper before being wrapped in fresh blank newsprint packing paper. The tea pot got 2 layers of tissue paper (technically 3 if you also count the one just around the spout and handle) + two layers of newsprint. There’s a sheet of bubble wrap + a crumpled newsprint between each layer. This box is going ultimately inside another box containing more breakables + plenty of padding. That bigger box may end up inside my car instead of in the truck for the extra suspension cushion, lol.
