We have to talk about something.

In Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Spike, before being a vampire was called by the londonian society a bad poet.

A bad poet.

A BAD POET.

EXCUSE ME.

Have you heard is "You'll never be friends" speech? Have you heard is love declaration to Buffy in the last episode? This is pure poetry! Londonian society surely had no taste.

The council jumped at any chance to make buffy look weak.

They would give her a specific way to fight a threat and when she couldn’t do it their way they thought they finally had power over her.

Having a slayer who had her own ways of eliminating danger was, in their eyes, just as bad as having a rogue slayer like faith.

Buffy didn’t need guidance from the council, basically rendering them all completely useless and that terrified them

“Did you know there’s a vampire brooding in your bushes?” Anya asked, sailing through Giles’ front door with very little concern despite the vampire she’d apparently spotted outside.

She greeted Xander with a kiss as Willow explained, “We think he’s waiting for Buffy.”

“Did we know Angel was back in town?”

“We did not,” Xander informed her, adding, “He’s really kicking up this stalker routine.”

Giles frowned at Xander over the heavy pages of one of his boring books. “Do you think this classifies as stalking?”

“I mean, probably?” Willow answered. “It’s just sort of sad. He misses Buffy.”

Anya snorted. “He doesn’t miss Buffy - he misses being able to easily manipulate a young impressionable slayer.”

That got a few raised eyebrows and some sputtered words from Willow but Anya was standing by what she said.

Especially when, moments later, a laughing Spike got thrown through the front window and Buffy’s raised voice could be heard yelling at Angel about choices and love and how he didn’t get a say anymore because he left.

“What did you do?” Anya asked, looking down at Spike where he was still laughing on the floor.

Unrepentant, Spike replied, “Made a lewd comment just to rile him up.”

Giles just shook his head and said, “You’re paying for the window.”

“Angel can pay for it, he’s the one who got all wound up just because the slayer smells like me.”

“Buffy smells like you?” Xander wrinkled his now in disgust.

Spike snorted. “Had to hide from an Initiative patrol, not a lot of space.”

“Oh,” Anya was disappointed. “I thought you’d finally had sex.”

She didn’t see why that should have caused such a reaction, it was really only the truth.
