On my third rewatch I have to say Who Are You? (S4e16) is one of the most incredibly acted episodes of the series. SMG’s Buffy-as-Faith is incredible. The mannerisms. The expressions. The subtle changes in pronunciations. She truly becomes Faith. Like, it’s TRULY a Faith episode and I kept having to remind myself that it was actually SMG affecting Faith and not actually Eliza in disguise. SMG put her whole pussy into that episode.
Eliza’s Faith-as-Buffy is no slouch either. She’s obvi got way less screen time, but she does a great job embodying Buffy. It was so fun to see both actresses not just portraying each others characters but also just portraying each other.
Honestly, blown away. Highly underrated episode.

The council jumped at any chance to make buffy look weak.
They would give her a specific way to fight a threat and when she couldn’t do it their way they thought they finally had power over her.
Having a slayer who had her own ways of eliminating danger was, in their eyes, just as bad as having a rogue slayer like faith.
Buffy didn’t need guidance from the council, basically rendering them all completely useless and that terrified them

More Faith Thoughts
Another difference between Faith and Buffy apart from their support systems (or lack thereof) is the fact that both Buffy and her friends are depicted as Middle Class while Faith is homeless throughout season 3. So not only did the Watcher's Council, GILES, and literally every other adult in Faiths life just let a child live in a motel but they never offered any kind of support apart from like, one off lines I think. Faith also comes from a abusive and broken home. The Gang all give up on her, so it's very obvious why Faith went to the Mayor who gave her pretty much everything she was missing. Faith is also supposed to be younger than Buffy canonically. So wtfff erm!!
This is not to say the Scooby Gang are horrible people in this situation, they are also just kids and I can't put blame onto them without being unfair. But the adults really annoy me, both Joyce and Giles. Faith is a orphan, homeless and pretty much completely alone, and neither of them wanted to help?? Obviously Buffy is going through her own shit at the same time but I dislike how basically no one in the show takes into account these things and how they'd effect Faiths actions?? Idk js irks me.

Tbh, upon first watch, Faith really frustrated me and I didn’t get why everyone loved her so much. However, when rewatching and now that I’ve seen Angel, I actually really love her. Her character development is truly beautiful ✨
