Hey everyone, Alex here! Just wanted to say a few things real quick!

First of all, we hit 100 followers here on Tumblr a while ago! That's...frankly insane. No idea where any of you came from, but thank you all for the support on the comic thus far! Bugs and I are so glad you like our comic so far, and we hope that you'll stick around!

And that brings us to our second announcement!

@bugsinspace and I will be at Chicago for the 11 AM BFDI x II meetup on July 19th! (We, uh. Probably should have announced this sooner, but we're new to this "having-a-fandom" thing, okay?) It won't impact any of the updates on Tumblr or Comicfury if you're concerned about that- the entirety of Chapter 1 is queued on here and Comicfury, so updates will proceed as normal that week! The only issue that I can think of is that there might be a delay in putting the proper links on Thursday's page, but updates should proceed as normal provided that nothing crashes and burns or something, haha.

We'll update you all with more information once we get closer to the meetup date! Aside from that, thanks for sticking around- we'll see you for Tuesday's update!

Personally i dont really like it when Blue's addiction to netherwart is treated as a problem (it is, but not in the "its screwing up her brain and slowly killing her way")

To me Blue is addicted to it as a weird favorite food, like pickles on its own, rather than a drug addiction, but it doesnt seem to be doing anything bad to them nor giving like "effects" you'd expect an average drug to do, the only bad thing (going severe lengths for it) is not something like the netherwart warping Blue's brain itself, but rather Blue themself on their own being a little obsessed with it (a lot lol)

If anything the potions they make are more like drugs (yeah it has netherwart in, but i view it as being now fermented, which is why it has drug/alcoholic effects like in Potions)

that's a very interesting take! also a completely understandable opinion, lol.

i like exploring the ideas of what netherwart can actually do to people/mobs though, since players can't actually eat netherwart in the game like blue can. partially because i like the potential angst opportunities, but mostly because i really really like worldbuilding and expanding on things that aren't explained too well in the canon of their media.

actually, my fic a trauma to the system (which is more of an au, to be honest) is really a thing because of my friend @bugsinspace! they suggested netherwart was some sort of parasitic fungus that gets the host addicted to it and my brain got rolling, lol.

i still think that the parasitic fungus thing applies in canon, though. it's just harmless/doesn't effect blue at all lol

You heard it right! AWTD's prologue is finally done, which means things are about to get started!!

The first update comes out August 12th! After that, updates will be happening twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays!

I...can't believe we're here, finally! @bugsinspace and I have been working on this for a long while now, and this is probably the biggest thing we've ever done. I can't wait to see what you guys think, and thank you all for the support!

In the meantime, though, we'll see you guys on Monday!
