Part 5: Bumpy, His Wife Whoops, and Their Son Bumpy Jr.'s Family Montages
[Scene: Bumpy, Whoops, and Bumpy Jr. continue to navigate life together, creating a series of memorable family moments filled with humor and love.]
Montages:
Montage 1: Beach Vacation Fun
[The family heads to the beach for a vacation. Bumpy Jr. builds a lopsided sandcastle, and Bumpy and Whoops attempt to fly a kite, but it crashes into a beachgoer's picnic.]
Bumpy Jr.: Sandcastle masterpiece!
Whoops: Whoops! Sorry about your picnic.
Montage 2: Backyard BBQ Bustle
[They host a backyard barbecue with friends and family. Bumpy Jr. accidentally squirts ketchup all over himself, and Bumpy grills burgers, but they end up charred.]
Bumpy: Well-done burgers, anyone?
Whoops: Whoops! And Bumpy Jr. is our little ketchup monster!
Montage 3: Camping Comedy
[The family goes camping in the woods. Bumpy sets up a tent, but it collapses. Bumpy Jr. roasts marshmallows, which end up in his hair.]
Bumpy: Tent trouble again!
Whoops: And Bumpy Jr. has marshmallow hair!
Montage 4: Movie Night Madness
[They have a family movie night at home. Bumpy Jr. spills popcorn all over the couch, and Bumpy accidentally fast-forwards through the climax of the film.]
Bumpy Jr.: Popcorn shower!
Whoops: Whoops! And we missed the best part of the movie.
Montage 5: Holiday Havoc
[They celebrate a holiday with decorations and a big meal. Bumpy Jr. pulls the tablecloth, sending dishes crashing. Bumpy and Whoops accidentally set off fireworks indoors.]
Bumpy Jr.: Fireworks inside!
Whoops: Whoops! And a very… "explosive" holiday!
Montage 6: Science Experiment Shenanigans
[They try a simple science experiment at home, but it ends with a colorful explosion, leaving them covered in goo once again.]
Bumpy: Science can be messy, but it's fun!
Whoops: Absolutely! We wouldn't have it any other way.
Montage 7: Bike Ride Bonanza
[They go on a family bike ride through the neighborhood. Bumpy Jr. pedals with training wheels, and Bumpy and Whoops accidentally crash into a pile of leaves.]
Bumpy Jr.: Look, I'm biking!
Bumpy: Leaf pile surprise!
Whoops: Whoops!
Montage 8: Gardening Giggles
[They attempt gardening, but Bumpy Jr. mistakes the garden hose for a snake, and Bumpy and Whoops end up tangled in the garden hose.]
Bumpy Jr.: Snake in the garden!
Whoops: Whoops!
Montage 9: Home Improvement Hilarity
[They decide to paint a room together, but Bumpy Jr. ends up with paint on his face, and Bumpy accidentally paints the ceiling instead of the walls.]
Bumpy Jr.: Paint party!
Whoops: Whoops! And our ceiling is now a masterpiece.
Montage 10: Bedtime Bedlam
[It's bedtime, and Bumpy Jr. insists on reading a story. Bumpy and Whoops read a book with funny voices, and they all end up in a fit of laughter.]
Bumpy Jr.: Again, again!
Whoops: That's our little storyteller.
[The family shares a heartwarming group hug, cherishing the chaos and love that defines their unique family bond.]
Bumpy: Our family may be full of bumps and whoops, but it's the best family in the world.
Whoops: Agreed, Bumpy. We're a lucky bunch.

INTRODUCING TO TUMBLR FOR THE FIRST TIME:
Tumblr media
Master Leonardo brings Casey Jones Jr back in time as planned, but what do they do when they don't go quite as far back as they wanted? More info under the cut.
Meet The Sky Is Still Red! This has been my favourite AU for a long time now. There's already three chapters written, but my lack of an outline has kept me from publishing it confidently. I plan to start uploading chapters to my AO3 very soon.
Future Leo (who will be named Sensei in this AU) and Casey find themselves in the year 2022, two years after the beginning of the Krang war, rendering it impossible to prevent the apocalypse from happening as it's already started. The young adult turtles will learn to cope with the knowledge of their future and fight to keep it from happening, to hold onto hope when it feels as if humanity's fate is already sealed. Recovery is a bumpy road, but they have to cling to their faith that one day they will be better, and they will lead Earth to a better future.
This AU was partially inspired by the Hansel AU by @mobiitez, in which future Leo and Casey go too far back in time to meet baby versions of the turtles. I thought why not fuck up the time gateway in the other direction? and TSISR was born. I'm so excited to share this, it's my proudest work.
Edit: The first chapter is now posted to my AO3 and linked in my pinned post!

Hey I was just wondering can you do yandere garou x pregnant reader
oof i just posted itty bitty bits of this with the metal bat and garou thingie but i could put some more random ass thoughts here
so
garou is a total sweetheart
yandere garou is a fucking monster
which makes him hot
how he would be great with a pregnart reader, im not so sure. but i shall try
certainly he's possessive af, which would provide you with moments like "you're not leaving the fucking house, stay right there and protect my baby"
but when you just scoff and walk past him, he'll groan and follow you. keeping you cooped up when you're on raging pregnart hormones is hard.
so he'll drag his feet after you all the way to the grocery store, and the second you step inside his alarm bells are going off and an arm latches around your waist not unlike that of a metal bar. and he'll yank you closer and haul u around and growl at other customers and shit bc this is a manchild that you are in love with congrats--hope you can handle two babies at once
lil pussy-whipped yandere garou just graduated into baby-whipped garou, so this mf levels up his AUDACITY.
suddenly you can't take care of yourself, apparently. you're not going to cook, you're not going to work, you're not going to take a piss without a safety escort and an ID scan. these are the rules
that's his baby, and you're his baby.
nothing will happen to you.
hands and lives will be taken if anyone touches you.
also daddy garou loves his baby so much omg its adorable the cheek squeezes and the gushes and the actual tears when this motherfucker feels the baby kick for the first time and goes "garou jr will be a kickboxing champ, maybe I can train him in the womb"
strap in, it's gonna be a bumpy ride

G/F's robot FD is a lot to take in lol they kept none of the choreo and only one bit of the music from the original gala exh. their control and their skating are impressive, this has big lifts - the balance and strength this takes 😮
these costumes worked better with spotlights in a dark arena. they show when their lines don't match but also blend them together visually. they really could take a page from Madi Chock's alien and make a more subtle and flattering version of these
right now i'm like uhhhhh about this program haha - the opening until the dance spin is kind of sharp - i can see this part working if they really attack it and show off their speed. i don't know what's going on in the 2nd half - the robot theme goes away for big parts of it, the spin is generic, and the ChLi went wrong at the end
Morozov/Chen are now downplaying the Star Wars theme so much - the new costumes look much more like regular skating costumes - that idk if anyone would know what it was supposed to be if you didn't recognize the music. my new theory about them is that she's adaptable and good at reading a partner. and he's high energy but kind of one track minded - he's fine if he can do his thing, but he's not super attuned to the partner, and if you throw him out of his track, big mistakes happen. his last two partners weren't experienced enough to adjust to him, but she is
Neset/Markelov had a bumpy day, with some twizzle issues. WASA teams have a slightly daredevil quality, like in their upside down lift here. we're used to seeing the male partner set the woman down on the ice gently and smoothly. but there are at least 3 moments in this program he releases her to land on her own or sets her down harder than you usually see with other teams. at Lake Placid, there were people who gasped at this 😅
Natacha Lagouge/Arnaud Caffa came in 3rd in the FD and 4th overall - they've progressed a lot in the last couple seasons - they train with Maurizio Margaglio and Neil Brown in Finland. he and Maia Iannetta who was at IAMO were partners for a year way back. the French dance field is getting deeper, and they're able to send all their senior teams out internationally
Ignateva/Szemko's Harley Quinn program i need to see again because it was confusing
Soucisse/Firus's Harry Connick Jr FD is very Carol Lane somehow - i like this program for them. they have some flow when they skate but tend to look a little stiff - like N/M for instance have such softer knees
IAMO teams - Dozzi/Papetti - new costumes! the scores felt a little stingy- like they could have been credited more for the things they're doing well - their musicality, the GOE on the spin and the combo lift, the ChSt. anyway, this program's growing in emotion and flow at each competition
Ritter/Brykalov - this program is beautiful - suits them so well. they wore these costumes at Lake Placid, then wore all black at August sectionals - i wonder why. that opening curve lift is so dramatic. their skating is noticeably stronger now ☺️
Roberts/Alis - i'm so curious who did the choreo for this program - there are parts of it that look like no other program that's come out of IAMO so far - if it feels unique because of the team? their first big senior competition - they did really well - they have a nice connection and comfort with each other

As a disclaimer my cooperating teacher was generally a very good person who tries. I don't by any means think she was a bad teacher. But.
For black history month she has them doing informational essays on african americans and I will tell you what, how she's doing it and how I wanted to design it based on that prompt are two very, very different things. And I think maybe the biggest difference is in this one instruction she gave me:
They're not allowed to write about any "law breakers."
Now my mind immediately fizzled to a stop. I had to do a hard reboot.
As she continued to talk about not wanting to kids to glorify crime or whatever, I realized that what she wanted was for them to not write about like, fucking Bill Cosby or something that would potentially get everyone involved in this project in trouble because parents love nothing more than to assume their children aren't on the internet and also aren't capable of rational thought, but that's not what she said. She said no lawbreakers. Which uh. I dunno how much you know about like. Black history in America. But.
Martin Luther King Jr? Broke the law. Rosa Parks? Famous specifically FOR breaking the law. Every single escaped slave, several of which were on her list of recommended topics? Yeah uhhhhhh they broke the law, fam. The law was that they were slaves. You can't try to teach a unit on black history and just conveniently ignore the fact that literally any civil rights activist they could write about would be a law breaker. It's a disservice to the kids' education and to black history to pretend otherwise and try to sanitize (lmao whitewash) the history and PRESENT between African Americans and the American legal system.
Another person on the list? Kobe Bryant. Ma'am, Kobe Bryant has a rather famous sexual assault case against him (involving a 19 year old) that kids would probably learn about while researching him. I'd honestly we rather just have the talk I'd planned about essay writing not being a moral judgment and let them have a good time writing about Bumpy Johnson or whatever.

So when I picked Oizumicho Nishiide (a sub-town within Hokuto, Yamanashi) to stay in, it was a little bit random. I had found a charming looking BnB online and was like sure! Let's do this.
It was very interesting because I hadn't realized I would be on a rural train line. It only runs about 7 times a day per direction, and the station I was at (Kai-Ōizumi) is unmanned and apparently stopped ticket sales some time ago due to such low turnout. People in the town mostly use cars given the steep inclines and how spread out everything was. (I very very quickly learned this hauling my two suitcases up a mile and a half on a bumpy road to my BnB.)
(More about the process of this rural train experience below the cut!)
Tumblr media
(The style of train I took to Kai-Ōizumi.)
When I got on the train at the connecting station between the JR Chūō line and the Koumi line, I saw this red box but didn't know what to do about it. No one else got on with me so I couldn't observe and mimic. So when I got off at my stop at Kai-Ōizumi, the conductor informed me in rapid Japanese (which I admittedly only caught 60% of, given I'm not well studied in train terms) that since I did not take the voucher from the red box, I'd need to take an IOU and apply it to my Pasmo card the next time I was at a manned station. The line did not use Pasmo in the usual sense. Thankfully someone else made the same mistake and I felt a little less foolish. My fellow mistake maker kindly explained this to me after we disembarked the train in simpler Japanese. Thank you, kind stranger!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Behold the IOU!)
Once I finished my two days in Oizumicho Nishiide, I went back and pulled the voucher this time.
Tumblr media
Upon exiting the Koumi line at Kobuchizawa, I went to the counter and paid for both of these tickets, and then did a U-turn and swiped my Pasmo again so I could transfer to the Chūō line to make my way to Kofu for a day.
I was glad I had this experience as I was reminded of my time living in rural France (in a tiny town of 200 people) where the commuter bus came in 5 times a day and didn't run after 7pm. I also got to extensively use my Japanese during this experience given how many people I had to talk to and questions I had to ask. (Fun fact: apparently I was at the 3rd highest elevation train station in Japan, according to a small sign at Kai-Ōizumi.)
Given how interested I am in public transportation, having experienced Japan's very modern city based trains and long distance Shinkansen trains, I am happy I also got to explore a little more of the train system here!

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw will step down this month to take a leadership position with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the mayor said Tuesday.
Outlaw, the first Black woman to run the 6,000-member police department, came to Philadelphia from Portland, Oregon, where her handling of protests had raised concerns.
She leaves after a bumpy three years on the job that began just before the pandemic lockdowns and was quickly followed by intense protests that broke out in Philadelphia and across the country in the summer of 2020 over the police killing of Black people.
Outlaw’s resignation comes just a few months before the end of Mayor Jim Kenney’s tenure, and as crime rates including homicides and gun-related crimes have become a major issue in the race for who will replace him. While campaigning, Democratic candidate Cherelle Parker has skirted questions over her plans for leadership at the police department.
Over the last few years, Philadelphia has seen a sharp increase in homicides, setting a modern-day record in 2021 with 562 homicides that year. Homicides declined slightly in 2022 and advocates have said they are on track to decrease further this year. But even though Philadelphia was hardly alone among U.S. cities in experiencing a rise in homicides over that time, it has had a hard time combatting a Republican narrative of being a Democratic city with a progressive district attorney that is overrun with violence and danger.
At the port authority, Outlaw will be the deputy chief security officer.
Outlaw, whose last day as commissioner is Sept. 22, leaves months before Kenney’s two terms as mayor come to an end. The mayor has named First Deputy John M. Stanford Jr. as interim police commissioner.
“Commissioner Outlaw has worked relentlessly for three and a half years during an unprecedented era in our city and a number of crisis situations, and she deserves praise for her commitment to bring long-overdue reform to the Department after years of racism and gender discrimination prior to her appointment,” Kenney said. “We wish her success in her new position and thank Commissioner Outlaw for her dedication to serve the residents of Philadelphia.”

Three years after it was declared “The Worst Restaurant In NYC Right Now,” Salt Bae’s Manhattan burger joint has closed.
Salt Bae, of course, is the social media tag for the New York celebrity chef and butcher Nusret Gökçe, who became famous for bouncing flakes of salt off his forearm and on to just about anything edible, giving customers varying degrees of salt-shock.
He opened Salt Bae Burger in a city obsessed with finding the best burger possible, and the outlet on Park Avenue had undergone a bumpy ride ever since. It opened in late February 2020 – just before the city went into Covid-19 lockdowns – to accusations of sexism because it had offered a free, appetizer-sized veggie “ladies burger” in pink buns to women only.
“We wanted to compliment the ladies,” its general manager, Al Avci, told Eater, who explained the stunt had gone down well in Dubai. “We weren’t thinking it would be sexist.”
But Salt Bae Burger also drew consternation as the home of the $99, gold-flecked milkshake and the $100 Gold Burger, which was encased in gold foil. Meanwhile, in terms of ambience, Eater critic Robert Sietsema wrote, “it had all the charm of an airplane hangar.”
Scott Lynch, a reviewer for Gothamist, said he’d “had the unfortunate opportunity a few weeks ago to eat several sad servings of hospital food, and everything I had at Salt Bae was worse”. The menu, he wrote, was framed in metal like a tombstone “apparently marking the death of everything pleasurable about eating”.
The inexpensive Wet Burger, he added, was “actually just a meager disc of meat sitting within a soggy, unpleasantly sweet bun. It’s also tiny, but you can’t eat more than a single bite anyway.” Lynch called Salt Bae Burger the city’s worst restaurant.
Gökçe, who would cook in aviator sunglasses and tight white T-shirts, had seen success before. The Turkish restaurant impresario became famous three years earlier, in 2017, when – through his “salt crystals bouncing off arm bent in a swan-like formation” technique – he earned more than 52 million followers on Instagram via a chain of Nusr-Et steakhouses with more than 20 locations worldwide.
But the salting technique also attracted unwanted attention. When Gökçe donned gloves to perform the salting, some wondered if that might be because the technique could otherwise violate health codes.
Also, before Salt Bae Burger opened, the company behind the Nusr-Et restaurants was slapped with legal claims ranging from sexual harassment to wage theft. Gökçe raised eyebrows after bragging about feeding the Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro, US conservative darling Donald Trump Jr and Leonardo DiCaprio, who is known for his dating life as much as his critically acclaimed film roles.
And the reviews weren’t great, either.
The New York Post called it “Public Rip-off No 1” that cost $521.45 for dinner for two and left the diners “craving a snack”. A $25 salad was composed of “days-old iceberg lettuce and mystery greens with tasteless goat cheese and a few walnuts, raisins, and pomegranate seeds”.
The New York Times critic Pete Wells said he’d experienced more than the theatrical application of salt to his order. “I had a pair of trousers that Salt Bae had seasoned like a steak,” he wrote.
He added: “Mr Gokce has only one move, but he performs it with total confidence, and as anybody who’s ever been on a dance floor knows, that’s enough.”
Still, Gökçe’s fame has been real enough.
“Americans and New Yorkers love me very much,” he told the New York Times. He described how he served most of the meat to customers, saying: “After I cut it, I do the move.
“I go to the same table, sometimes three times. I don’t see myself as a butcher or just a restaurant owner. I view my job as an art because I make art out of meat and the move is like a final touch on this art. It came from within me.”
Nonetheless, Salt Bae Burger closed last month, and the title of New York’s best – and worst – burger is up for grabs.

Rage quitted at the episode where terry jr died bcz it sucked for so many reasons but it's among the many instances where the story is constrained to the mechanics of dnd and the rule of cool serves to the narratives detriment. That fight at the dance where by the end a fire starts because it got boring was like oh okay. The teens firing everything they have at willy when hes about to cuff the doodler to no avail from what freddy accurately describes as a video game cutscene is like damn :/ (though this ones different because by this point there were no stakes) but like it ends up snuffing out any potential for a satisfying arc between scary & terry for the sake of "this would be a cool cliff hanger to leave off on & also this prophecy HAS to be fulfilled and it has to be now because ??? " by the end of s2 so many pretenses of the core game mechanics are dropped that instances that actually "matter" combat wise has to have the dm clarify beforehand hes not cheating . For me i generally didnt gaf early on but as an audience how do i not lose faith and continue to suspend my disbelief when i dont trust that like if this story is going to be (put lightly) bumpy it cant even happen organically from the roll of the die and just how the games played and not somethings suddenly decided because itd be "cool" and spice things up so lets add an additional ingredient to this already bloated pot.

What happened to CPom at 2022 Nationals?
you mean why were they 7th?
i blame USFS and Skate Canada for scheduling their Nationals on the same week that season. US Nats was in Nashville. CPom was Scott's only US team, and he had maybe 5 Canadian teams, including Haley and Nik, so he went to Ottawa, and Patch was with CPom in Nashville
that whole season, CPom kept getting extended lift deductions, they weren't looking particularly fast or super secure in their lifts, and some people were pretty mean about Scott's coaching because of that, as if the first season was going to tell you everything about who he'd be as a coach or how CPom would develop after changing camps. and of course, it came out after their season was done that Anthony needed ankle surgery and had been injured for years
at Nationals, they did pretty well in their RD - got their levels and all their key points and were 5th in a stacked field with C/B, H/D, H/B, and Gr/Pa who were having their breakout season. CPom's RD was a different look for them. their FD was good, but it wasn't unique - Wicked Game has been done a lot, too - and it didn't help them that Gr/Pa had such a memorable and special FD that season
CPom came out on FD day looking super nervous and a little rattled - not in the program, but in the warmup and maybe some bts- i can't recall exactly. they skated pretty well, but Anthony had a bobble on the 2nd set of twizzles, their combo lift was beautiful but their stationary lift wasn't very stationary, and they also got an extended lift deduction on it - all told, it might have cost them 5+ points. And that was enough to put them behind Wolfkostin/Chen - who had one of their clean competitions (it was 50/50) and who was a US medal hope at Jr Worlds. And also behind Bratti/Somerville, who had one of their best competitions ever. CPom were 7th in the FD, 7th overall
their highest GOE element
that was a bumpy season for them, but can you believe the next season CPom made the podium at Nats and top 10 at their first Worlds? after Anthony having the surgery and everything? they should be so proud
