Into the Mossley Gardens (A 5E DND Campaign)

Hello again - this is a re-work of the first DnD campaign I ever made up (and still haven't played) called "Into the Mossley Gardens" it was supposed to be a mini-campaign, but since I haven't run it at all the project is still very much a work-in-progress. You can find the original png version of this here.

Story Overview/Intro:

In the heart of the City of Mosswood's Oldtown District sits The Mossley Gardens - a lush area surrounded by thick walls. It feature a variety of flourishing plants, the city's eldest graveyard, a community garden space, and an ancient estate that once belonged to the Mossley’s - original owners of the land. The estate currently doubles as a laboratory and school building for those studying the arcane arts.

Recently Hyacinth O’Harely - the head gardener - shut the gates and has not opened the property back up to the public, students or staff. Through connections, overheard conversation, or simply seeing the listing on a nearby Quest Board, your team of adventurers have come across Hyacinth’s need for heroes. 

Hyacinth is waiting just outside the gate for a quick chat before you start your rescue. Remember that once you venture in, there is no going back. So…

What will you do?

Story Objectives/Goals:

Find Bramble Burnwise - a lifelong friend of Hyacinth’s. She was trapped with other faculty and staff the day the gates were shut and may be your best bet for answers. Sickle Spade - the “bird-brained” gravedigger - and a few others may have also been trapped that day, but Hyacinth just can’t be sure who made it out in time.

Discover the cause of the chaos affecting the gardens and put a stop to it. Recently something was unleashed within this ancient place, and with it long buried secrets yet to be revealed.

Notes:

The idea behind this was to encourage pcs to explore the "map". Each area of the garden is broken into sections and each section holds different information on the Mossly estate and what's going on. I'll draft up a quick map on the General Layout post/page, but essentially for them to figure out what's going on and see the full picture they'll need to do some Nancy Drew investigative stuff while fighting a couple of creature along the way.

I haven’t read this one myself yet but it looks very promising (just look at that word count!) and the summary promises ‘eventual slash’ so I think you’re good with this one slow-burnwise

This fic features the words “You smell nice, like bread.” so who could turn it down? (Especially since it’s said to the right person, if you catch my drift) This is such a deliciously slow, slow burn with all the pining and misunderstandings. Moreover it showcases a lot of character development and has some excellent OCs, one being an Ilvermony student who makes things between the boys even more confusing. Very much worth a read!

Hello everyone and Happy New Year! My name is Julie and I am the TUPE Youth Coordinator for SCAIR and we partner up with SDGE and share great tips on how you can save money on your SDGE bill. We are in Winter and man it has been cold. So I wanted to share some information that might be helpful to you.

Article 1: MAKE A RESOLUTION TO SAVE ENERGY THIS WINTER

Lower temperatures and spending extra time at home means more heating, streaming and electricity use. Here are some ideas to help you save energy and lower your bill while staying comfortable during the colder winter months.  

1. Reset your hot water heater: After heating and cooling systems, water heaters are the second highest source of energy usage in the home. It takes a lot of energy to heat water and most people have the thermostat on their water heater set too high. Your water heater heats water to a set temperature, then maintains that temperature 24/7. That means that your water heater just cycles on and off, continually reheating water to that temperature, whether you use it or not. Even lowering the temperature a few degrees will help lower your energy costs.  

2. Insulate your home: Properly insulating your home provides resistance to heat loss and lowers heating costs while improving your comfort level. Find the best insulation for your home when you visit energy.gov/EnergySaver/insulation.

3. Adjust the temperature: When you are asleep or not home, turn your thermostat back 7 to 10 degrees for eight hours and save around 10% a year on your heating bills. A smart or programmable thermostat lets you set it and forget it. Learn about SDG&E’s Smart Thermostat Program at sdge.com/thermostat.

4. Weatherize your home: Sealing leaks with caulk, weatherstripping and expanding foam is a quick and easy way to lower your heating expenses. Inspect these areas for any cracks or gaps that could cause air leaks – doors, windows, places where plumbing and wiring pass through the walls, mail slots, foundation seals, baseboards, attic hatches and mounted air conditioners.

5. Maintain your heating systems: Heating your home uses more energy than any other system in your house so it’s important to properly maintain your equipment. Replace your HVAC filter around once a month. A dirty filter can increase your electricity costs because your HVAC system needs to work harder to pump warm air into your home. 6. Reduce heat loss from the fireplace: Keep your fireplace damper closed unless a fire is burning. Keeping the damper open is like keeping a window wide open during the winter; it allows warm air to go right up the chimney. When you use the fireplace, reduce heat loss by opening dampers in the bottom of the firebox (if provided) or open the nearest window around one inch and close doors leading into the room.
