I understand that a lot of people are uncomfortable with vtubers appearing young and childish both in design and In speach because of course they should. Anyone who's doing it for perverse reasons is unequivocally gross for sexualizing minors. But as an adult who's very small and and really does have that body type and that kind of voice... its a bit... I dont know disheartening? To hear people talk about being "minor" coded in real life is a bit crazy to me.

I can't change my voice or the way I look. And as someone who gets misgendered for it, on top of people in real life giving me comments like "oh that's not your real voice right?". "Oh your just not mature enough for this job." In jobs I'm already doing.

It just feels wierd I guess. There are a great deal of people out there hiding behind infantasing (racist) depictions of Asian women in the vtubing community. Unfortunately that is a fact and they should be called out for it. But let's not assume that it's impossible for an adult to be soft spoken and ... short? You know. And let's not assume that's the Vtubing community as a whole. There are thousands of diffrent vtubers out there, each with their own sense of expression and creativity. We shouldn't be blaming the mass for the actions of few.

#even though my vtubing has been put on a solid hold this was something i struggled with #because people just automatically assumed i was young and i had to clarify no im not putting on an act and yes i am an adult #which i guess im already used to in real life but its much more uncomfortable online when people dont have the same boundaries #ive also met a lot of really wondeful vtubers along the years who are very solid in both genuine talent #and it feels bad to see post saying alll vtubers are creepy and fetishy when ive personally watched and spoken to a buch of people who #are nothing like that #like good honest people who sure open with there sexuality and like to joke around #but arent fishing by any means #there are also a lot of corporate vtubers who just... straight up dont get to choose their model #ive seen post saying that nijisanji girls are creepy because they have young looking modles but they act like grown women #but ?? anyone whos tried out for nijisanji would know that your model is basicly picked befor you even join try out.#even hololive girls dont get to pick design choices #independent is a whole nother thing but not every independent is the same #and you cant just group them all together like that #may delete later #sorry for the complaing its just something thats been on my mind #this was mostly a tiktok thing from people outside of the community #but i dont know I wanted to talk about it i guess
