post surgery stuff under the cut (nothing graphic, just general thoughts) but i do mention vomit so tw vomit / emetophobia and addiction stuff
remember, ymmv with surgery stuff.
okay first up, i didn’t have any complications so my surgery was quick. i think i went in at 9 and by 11.30 i was sending messed up texts to say i was coming round (i was not coming round, i was still semi-fucked up).
secondly, ordinarily the nursing team try to push patients to get up, use the bathroom and drink water with in an hour of coming round. i apparently was a weird exception because the first thing i did was go ‘please can i have the biggest glass of water you have’ while i was in the recovery room.
thirdly, general anaesthetic puts me on my arse. i slept on and off all day in between drinking plenty of water and then eventually threw everything up. 0/10 experience for that bit.
fourthly, lewis had to talk to the nursing team about my pain medication regimen. paracetamol = yes. morphine = only once a day. codeine = sparingly. and he’s in charge of my take home pain killers because otherwise i’ll take all of them in one go and i admit it.
fithly, pain/discomfort wasn’t so bad yesterday because i was still working GA out my system. today things are a bit more ouch. i’m not looking forwards to my drains coming out later.

Time away from social media during Lent was lovely and I've been thinking about how and even if I might try and integrate it back into my life, but in the meantime I thought I should give you all a quick life update.
I took a pot of boiling water to the face last week in a moment of peak Sam Clumsiness(TM) and have some really sexy burns all over my face. So if you see me in the next couple of weeks and I look like my face is made of old, crusty, brown wallpaper that's peeling off an over-inflated pink balloon, now you know why!
I'll give you the cliffnotes:
-Ouch
-Face hurt
-Morphine good
-Boiling water + skin = bad
-Face hurt
-Sleeping upright is hard
-Face swell
-Friends lovely
-God bless vaseline
-(Did I mention face hurt?)
- I T C H Y
I give the experience a 0/10. Do not recommend.
When I'm feeling a little less vain I might upload some pictures so you can all gasp in horror and marvel at my (hopefully) incredible recovery.

Kenichi Ova Episode 12
Kenichi STORY:ShirahamaKenichi is an average 15-year-old high school student who has earned the nickname 'Weak Legs' fromalways getting bullied. One day he meets a cute girl named Furinji Miuwho helps him build the courage to begin training at a mysterious dojowhere she lives. Here Kenichi faces intense training from masters of manydifferent martial arts styles as he attempts to become stronger. Kenichi eventually becomes a full disciple of Ryōzanpaku, and becomes enamored of Miu. Subsequently, Kenichi's daily routine is divided between training under the six masters of Ryōzanpaku, and his fights against the members of 'Ragnarok', a gang of bullies trying alternately to recruit or to vanquish him. After Ragnarok is disbanded, Kenichi andMiu are targeted by Yomi, a group of disciples personally trained by a master of an organization rivaling Ryōzanpaku, Yami. While the masters of Ryōzanpaku and their allies follow the principle of always sparing their opponents' lives (Katsujin-ken), the members of Yami believe that any means of defeating an opponent is valid, including murder (Satsujin-ken). In the struggle between the two factions, Kenichi, Miu, and their allies fight the members of Yomi, while his mastersconfront the members of Yami.
A pretty snazzy character selection screen, that is.
ABOUT: ShijouSaikyou no Deshi: Kenichi (literally translated asHistory's Strongest DiscipleKenichi) is a 3D fighting game developed and published by Capcom, based on the manga and animeseries of the same name. Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple began as a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Syun Matsuena. The first tankōbon was published in August 2002. An anime adaptation made by Tokyo Movie Shinsha aired from October 2006 to September 2007 and had 50 episodes. The Kenichi PS2 fighting game was the first ever videogame based on the Kenichi series, releasing only in Japan in March 2007.
Kenichi features 12 selectable characters, each representing their unique fighting styles seen in the original manga and anime. Modes include Story, Versus, Practice, Score Attack, Time Attack, Survival, Mission, and Gallery. For each character, you can choose two battle styles 'Quiet' and 'Motion'. Quiet focuses ondefense and counter attacks, while 'Motion' focuses on attacks and explodeanger (super combos). During battles there are 3 types of attacks: shockskills (strikes), truth skills and return skills (counter attacks). Shockskills are stronger than Truth skills; Truth skills are stronger than Returnskills; and Return skills are stronger than Shock skills.

Whenever I load Firefox it tells me to upgrade to 12.0 for security reasons. 12.0 is most definitely not compatible with the version of OS X on my MacBook Pro.
Where have I seen this stage before?
In more ways than one, Kenichi resembles Capcom's well known 3D fighting game series starring high school stereotypes, Rival Schools. From the cel-shaded 3D graphics style of Kenichi to the stylized anime characters, Kenichi is an attractive looking PS2 game for the time. The fighting stays mostly on a 2D plane, but there are somesidestepping techniques as well. The gameplay is comparable to several Capcom fighters, but focuses more on martial arts techniques and less on projectiles. The gameplay isn't nearly as solid or deep as comparable fighting games of 2007, but features plenty of fan service for those familiar with the manga and anime series.

BOTTOM LINE
Final Words:
Kenichi is one of the few fighting games with 'Capcom' written on the box that I haven't played. (Although, the game was developed by Eighting.) Out of many of the 'me too' anime fighting games that spawned in the mid / late 2000's (and after), Kenishi seemed like one of the more interesting ones. The series seems like aperfect fit for a fighting game. From whatI've seen, the animation quality is rather decent. I've only caught a few episodes of the anime, and it's actually not too bad from what I remember. Some of the character designsare a bit stale, in my opinion.. but others are worth checking out. Honestly what I like most about Kenichi is that the characters seem like they could share the same universe as Rival Schools. Anyway, I don't have a modded PS2 in order to play this game.. but ifever get around to it, I'll give this game a proper review. ~TFG Webmaster

Day 8- Blood test results and reaching my limit
I was glad to have a 10am doctors appointment this morning, after a challenging night. I had symptoms I’d never experienced before and one’s I hadn’t had since I was seriously ill. My liver and spleen were aching so bad I had to lie flat, sitting up made them feel like they were getting squashed and caused too much pain. I couldn’t breathe very well (not like air hunger). My limbs felt like they were made of cement and I didn’t even have the strength to cut up my dinner. At least my mental symptoms had dissapated. Whatever my Dr did that day on my emotions, worked wonders. I was back to my positive self and lying on the couch feeling physically like poo on a stick, all I thought was “my body is healing, he will fix me tomorrow, it’s OK.” I used a few essential oils which helped lesson my suffering as well, so I’m grateful for that.
I told my Dr all my symptoms in the appointment. He said “I think your body has reached its limit.” He asked me if I wanted to cut back on some treatments. I asked him for his opinion on that. I don’t want to slow down if I can keep going, but last night was also borderline unbearable. His opinion was to back off from treating my liver and spleen as he had been prescribing my lux treatment (light therapy I’ve done everyday in the clinic) to be done on my liver and spleen everyday. With all the tinctures, tablets and detoxing therapies he said we were moving things around and stirring things up probably faster than my body can handle. So we cut massage, lux and PEMF for the time being. He gave me some homeopathic remedies on the spot and I felt instant relief.
I was also experiencing stomach pain that felt as if the muscles were being twisted. I’ve experienced this since I started the tinctures, but coupled with my liver and spleen pain I found myself constantly rubbing my tummy and feeling very uncomfortable. He got me up on the table and started scanning my body. His response was “so we’ve pissed off the bacteria.” That’s why my stomach hurts. The way he says it, with his American accent too just makes it funnier. I imagined the (bad) bacteria throwing a protest in my stomach and trying hard not to die.
Then he started working on my diaphram. He explained something about the pain also stemming from there, but I can’t remember why. So for every area of my diaphram he pushed on, I had to rate the pain from 0-10 (10 being surgery without anesthetic and 0 being how it feels right now without touching it). My responses ranged from 3-7. Then he got his fascia machine and another, smaller vibrating machine and starting working on those areas. Then he’d push on them again and I’d rate the pain. This time it would be lower, I started to get 1′s mixed in with the higher numbers.
We did multiple rounds of this as he explained that my diaphram being in bad shape would have contributed to feeling like I couldn’t breathe last night. It got to the point where I had mainly 0′s, a few 1′s and then 1 spot was still a 6-7. It was at the bottom of my liver. It was funny because my Dr kept working hard on it and it didn’t want to budge. I just kept coming back with “ouch, 7.” “How about now?” “7.″ “Ok try now.” “6.” Because my liver is irritated from being over worked, it’s as if it’s being defiant and just wants to stay angry (I can totally relate).  So in frustration (as a joke) he said “your liver is saying FUCK YOU I’M PISSED!” haha. He then rubbed the essential oil Hyssop onto the area and found a few homepathic drops his testing said I needed and put those on the area. The pain went down to a 3 and we thought that was a pretty good effort, considering the other 10 areas were now a 0 or 1 and my liver was basically being a stubborn little shit.
Then we went through my blood test results. I’m impressed with how comprehensive they are. He wrote notes on my test and explained what it all meant. Here are some of the findings:
- Glucose levels are too high, so I have problems with regulating sugar (which I had already known from my two Dr’s at home). - Creatinine (HCL) is too low. - Calcium is too low. - Magnsium is too low (and not because I don’t absorb it like I thought, he said it’s because my body needs too much of it right now to function) - Globulin is too high (which is an indicator of leaky gut. I asked him about working out my food sensitivities and he said right now that would be like putting brand new windows on a burning building- let’s put the fire out first). - I’m VERY deficient in zinc (which can create all kinds of symptoms).  - LDH is very low (which is something to do with blood sugar. He said that because this is so low, losing weight would be impossible. I could eat really strict and minute amounts and it would change nothing as this is the hormone you need to lose weight. Basically, my liver instantly converts sugar to fat, rather than utilising it as energy and this process cannot be reversed without normal levels of this hormone). - GGT is too low (this is what helps your body process alcohol. Your body produces its own ‘alcohol’ in the liver and this is why I sometimes wake up feeling hungover without even drinking, because what it produces on its own it can’t even process). - Ferritin is too way high (this is an indicator of oxidative stress).  - Cholesterol is far too low. - Triglycerides are too high.  - HDL cholesterol (the good one) is too low, whilst VLDL (bad one) is too high. - White Blood Cells are way too high. - MVC is too high (which is an indicator of either b6, b9 or b12 deficiency).  - Markers for my thryoid were too low. - There was another marker that indicated my blood vessels were scarred. This means my body is filling those scars with cholesterol to protect them.  - Another marker indicated my kidneys were under extreme stress and they were having to filter so much ‘crap’.
There were other findings but I’ve forgotten what they mean and would struggle to explain it. All very interesting and worth knowing for my recovery. Basically what we summed up was that my body is under oxidative stress as most of these results pointed towards that. He explained to me twice what oxidative stress meant, but my brain cannot retain it. So I googled it and here is what it said: “OS is essentially an imbalance between the production of free radicals and the ability of the body to counteract or detoxify their harmful effects through nuetralization by antioxidants.” I do remember my Dr saying that I will need to take a lot of antioxidants to help counteract this.
We didn’t start treating any of these issues yet. RIght now we are giving my body a little rest so that my organs can stop throwing a tantrum. Still feeling very happy with the process and even though I was quite unwell last night, this is an idicator of things changing and bad things dying in my body.

Firmino to shine in Liverpool victory against Norwich and Arsenal to see off Newcastle – The Sun
THE big guns return to action in a much more packed Premier League schedule this weekend. Twelve top-flight teams had last week to put their feet up – sort of – and many stars opted for a warm weather getaway as Storm Ciara wreaked havoc on the remaining schedule. 8 Bruno Fernandes made his Man Utd debut against WolvesCredit: AFP or licensorsThis weekend we’ve a packed column for you, featuring four top-flight matches starting with Liverpool’s trip to rock-bottom Norwich…Norwich vs Liverpool – Saturday, 5.30pm IT’S a true David vs Goliath showdown at Carrow Road. On paper this looks the toughest test of the season for a Canaries side who have found the going tough on their return to the top-flight. Daniel Farke and Norwich chiefs should be applauded for sticking by their guns in restricting their spending and retaining a football philosophy. But that will mean little to a ruthless Liverpool, who arrive now as one of the most celebrated teams in the Premier League era. Still unbeaten and on target to wrap up the title weeks early, the Reds haven’t lost a league game since January 2019. This fixture never appears to disappoint and it’s goals which are on the menu – and plenty of them. The past three H2H’s here at Carrow Road have finished 4-5, 2-3, 2-5, all in favour of the men in red. 8Infact Liverpool have won their last five games in Norfolk, whilst they dismantled a plucky but out-classed Norwich side 4-1 on the opening day of the season. Farke and Co beat Man City here earlier in the campaign simply by sticking to their attacking philosophy. They’re not going to change and WILL get chances against this Liverpool side, who have conceded at Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Wolves this season on the road. Basically, the 4/5 on both teams to score is way too high. We’re expecting Liverpool to take all three points back to Merseyside, but Norwich have drawn a blank at Carrow Road just once all season. 8 Liverpool are close to securing their first league title in nearly 30 yearsCredit: AFP or licensorsThe 1/2 on there being a goal in each half is short, but is our banker of the day and a great bet to top up any acca. While all the value falls with Roberto Firmino in this one. Liverpool’s attacking quartet of the Brazilian, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane all dominate the scoring betting. But Firmino has ten goals this season, all on the road – 3/2 is a massive price for him to make it eleven. SunSport’s best bets Both teams to score: 4/5 A goal to be scored in each half: 1/2 Roberto Firmino to net again on the road: 3/2
Aston Villa vs Spurs – Sunday, 2pm HAS the tide turned for Jose and Spurs? If anything, the new-look winter break has come at just the wrong time for Mourinho’s side. Hard-fought wins over Man City and Southampton had breathed some optimism and momentum into a stuttering season – and Tottenham are without a defeat now in six games. Villa on the other hand are scrapping to keep their heads above water. They’ve a trip to Wembley to look forward to in March after reaching the Carabao Cup final – but remain just one point ahead of the relegation zone going into this one. Every game is huge now and there’s no way Dean Smith is writing off any points here. Spurs on the road this season have been – to put it bluntly – awful. They’ve just two wins from 12 matches away from North London, with a goal difference of -5 and five defeats. And yet they’re odds-on to win here. Don’t go anywhere near that. 8 All hell broke loose as Spurs beat champions Man CityCredit: ReutersThis Villa outfit are spearheaded by Jack Grealish and even the most optimistic Villan must know that he’s likely leaving in the summer, relegation or not. Spurs have been long-time admirers of the creative midfielder and he’s a terrific 12/5 to bag at anytime. One thing Villa do here is net – they’ve drawn just one blank here all season, in a drab 0-0 draw with West Ham way back in September. Man City, Liverpool, Leicester and Wolves have all left without a clean sheet. And so to we reckon will Spurs, who have stopped the opposition scoring just once in a Premier League away game this campaign. Both teams to score is a 4/7 shot and we can’t recommend that one enough. Even though we’re not backing Spurs to win this one, we do like the look of them on the team goals market. They’ve scored two or more on their last five visits to this ground and that’s the safe play at 7/10. SunSport best bets Both teams to score at Villa Park: 4/7 Spurs to score two or more goals: 7/10 Jack Grealish to net his eighth of the campaign: 12/5 8 Star man Grealish has attracted some interest, as well as a late push for the UEFA Euro England squadArsenal vs Newcastle – Sunday, 4.30pm IT’S an unbeaten 2020 so far for Arsenal. But that doesn’t really tell the full story, does it. Only two teams have won fewer games in this year’s Premier League season than the Gunners – Watford and Norwich, who both linger in 19th and 20th. With just SIX wins from 25 games – the same as Brighton – Arsenal are only really out of relegation trouble thanks to their quite ridiculous tally of thirteen drawn matches. Arteta has certainly made his side hard to beat, with four stalemates on the spin. But it does mean they start this game level on points with Toon, who are unbeaten in four top-flight matches. Steve Bruce’s side haven’t done much on the road this term though, winning just three of 12 games and without a success since beating Sheffield United in early December. And their record on this ground is nothing short of horrendous. 8Arsenal have won the last seven meetings, with an aggregate score of 20-5. In fact, Newcastle have won in North London just TWICE since the turn of the century. Ouch. There are the green shoots from recovery showing all over the pitch as Arteta gets his house in order. Even Granit Xhaka is starting to look like a player. We reckon this is Arsenal’s time to break that run of draws and three points are there for the taking on Sunday afternoon. With talisman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang back from suspension – and a healthy 23/10 to celebrate with the opener – they can extend Toon’s misery in this part of the world. Take the 4/9 on them winning and use it to boost your accas. Or be more adventurous and take the 23/20 on the Gunners to be winning at both half time and full time. That’s a big, big price. SunSport best bets Arsenal to beat Newcastle: 4/9 Gunners to be winning at HT and FT: 23/20 Aubameyang to open the scoring at the Emirates: 23/10 8 Newcastle have enjoyed the lowest amount of possession of all the Premier League sides this seasonChelsea vs Man Utd – Monday, 8pm CAN Utd make it three on the spin at the Bridge? Up until their victory here in February last year, Man Utd hadn’t picked up a win at Stamford Bridge in seven years. They followed up that top-flight win with a Carabao Cup triumph here in October and the Bridge hoodoo is most certainly broken. Chelsea continue to flit from the sublime to the ridiculous, with Frank Lampard’s young side just about keeping their place in the top four. They’re without a Premier League win in three games though and have lost four times on home soil already this season. But on their day – and especially on the road – they’ve excelled with the fast-paced game Big Frank has brought back to the club. Neither of these sides can be trusted on the results market. Who saw Southampton, Bournemouth and West Ham all winning in West London? Not us. We’re not quite sure why anyone would put their hard-earned on United in this one. 8They’ve won just three out of 12 away games this term, with three defeats in their last four on the road. And 29/10? Not for us. We’re not convinced by goals either. Four of the last six H2H’s here have featured three goals or less, while just ten of United’s 25 PL games have seen similar. That’s the third lowest in the division. Basically, 10/11 on their being under 2.5 goals is an excellent bet. And even better is the evens on both teams failing to score. That bet would have won on seven of the last ten meetings at the Bridge. Expect a cagey one. SunSport best bets Under 2.5 goals at Stamford Bridge: 10/11 One or both teams to keep a clean sheet: Evens

College Football - Alabama & Florida Barely Win, 12 Others Put on Muscle Shirts & Strut Their Stuff
Alabama Crimson TideThere was only one real upset in college football's 8th week of play as 12 of the 20 top-ranked teams put on their muscle shirts and showed what they have, a sure sign that teams have begun to stabilize for their last 4 games.
Only 21st-ranked Texas Tech was caught flat-footed at home by unranked Texas A&M, 52-30. The Red Raiders (now 5-3) were favored by 22 and lost by 22, a 44-point negative swing that sent Texas Tech reeling. The Texas A&M Aggies meant business, piling up a 38-22 lead after 3 quarters, and then outscoring the Red Raiders 14-8 in the 4th quarter.
Texas A&M was trounced 62-14 last week by Kansas State and decided to take it out on Texas Tech. The high score was no real surprise; both teams came in as scoring machines-Tech was ranked 2nd nationally at 41 ppg, and A&M was 19th at 33 ppg. A&M piled up 559 yards of offense and Tech 520; the contest was strictly offensive with a combined 1,079 yards of offense. Exciting, but not good football.
One other upset occurred when unranked Clemson hung in and hung on for a 40-37 overtime upset of 8th-ranked Miami (FL) on the Hurricanes' home field. Miami (now 5-2) was favored 5. Kyle Parker threw a 26-yard scoring strike to Jacoby Ford to win the game. It was big deal for Clemson because the Tigers have been toothless for some time. The win was Clemson's first in 9 tries over ranked teams, and its first win over a Top 10 foe in more than 8 years.
Here are the 7 of 12 teams that put on their muscle shirts looking for more BCS poll support by dominating their opponents in away games:
No. 3-ranked Texas (7-0) over Missouri 41-7, 6th-ranked Boise State (7-0) over Hawaii 54-9, 10th-ranked Texas Christian (7-0) over Brigham Young 38-7 (TCU was favored by 2.5 and won by 31), 11th-ranked Georgia Tech (7-1) over Virginia 34-9, 13th-ranked Penn State (7-1) over Michigan 35-10, 14th-ranked Oklahoma State (6-1) over Baylor 34-7, Alabama Crimson Tide and 25th-ranked Oklahoma (4-3) over 24th-ranked Kansas 35-13 (this was not an upset as the Sooners were favored by 8 an won by 22).
Three other away game victories by ranked teams were less dominating.
No. 2-ranked Florida (7-0) led Mississippi State 16-13 after 3 quarters and then outscored the Bulldogs 13-6 in the final quarter to win 29-19. The victory was Florida's 17th straight, the nation's longest winning streak. Gator Tim Tebow threw two interceptions for touchdowns; Mississippi State's Johnthan Banks ran one back for 100 yards and another for 20 yards.
No. 7-ranked Iowa (8-0) used a last play 7-yard TD pass by Ricky Stanzi to Marvin McNutt to come-from-behind against Michigan State 15-13. The Spartans had successfully defended 3 downs and led 13-9 before the last play. Iowa has now won 12 straight dating back to last season, the second-longest streak in the nation.
The Hawkeyes are becoming a bigger deal nationally because they have won more close games than a pack of termites at a timber feast. Seven of their 8 victories have been by 11 or fewer points, including 1, 2 and 3-point victories over Northern Iowa, Michigan and Arkansas. Last year Iowa lost 4 games by a combined total of 12 points. The Hawkeye defense has 15 interceptions this year and 9 fumble recoveries.
No. 14-ranked Oregon (6-1) got a lot of help from Washington in its 43-19 victory, which might have appeared more dominate than it actually was. The Huskies managed to let a rusher go untouched on a punt attempt that was blocked and resulted in a loose ball in the end zone that Oregon recovered for a TD. While Washington was rushing to get into position for the extra point, the holder ran it in for a 2-point conversion.
Another Husky drive that should have been a touchdown became a field goal, and another Husky drive ended at 2nd-and-goal and Washington could not get it in as Jake Locker threw an interception on 4th down and the Huskies came away with nothing. Oregon would rush for 259 yards and Washington could not stop them.
Here are the 5 of 12 teams that put on their muscle shirts looking for more BCS poll support by dominating their opponents in home games:
No. 5-ranked Cincinnati (7-0) over Louisville 41-10, 9th-ranked Louisiana State (6-1) over Auburn 31-10, 17th-ranked Houston (6-1) over Southern Methodist 38-15 (Houston led 31-3 after 3 quarters), 18th-ranked Ohio State (6-2) over Minnesota 38-7, and 20th-ranked Pittsburgh (7-1) over South Florida 41-14.
Five other home game victories by ranked teams were less dominating.
Least impressive was 1st-ranked Alabama's block of a 44-yard field goal on the last play of the game by the Tide's 350-pound nose guard Terrence Cody to preserve a 12-10 lead and victory over the unranked 3-4 Tennessee Volunteers. The blocked field goal by Cody, now dubbed "Mount Cody", was his second of the game. The Crimson Tide (now 8-0) came into the game ranked No. 1 in total defense; Alabama's offense, which averaged 34 points a game coming in, got all of its points on 4 field goals by Leigh Tiffin, including a 49-yarder and a 50-yarder.
No. 4-ranked Southern California was lucky to get by the unranked 4-3 Oregon State Beavers. A 63-yard punt return by Damian Williams in the 4th quarter and a late drive that bailed out the USC defense saved the day as the Trojans outlasted the Beavers, 42-36. Southern Cal was ranked 9th in the nation in total defense, but its scoring defense was ranked 41st (the Trojans were giving up 30 points a game). Now you know why USC is beyond lucky to be ranked No. 4 in the country. Think about it, the Trojans gave up 36 points to a 4-3 Oregon State team. The Beavers were the only team to beat USC last year, and they did it at home 27-21.
No. 19-ranked Utah (6-1) went lame in a 23-16 victory over a 4-4 Air Force team. This is not the same Utah team that went 13-0 last year as the only undefeated team in the nation, and then took down Alabama 31-17 in the BCS Sugar Bowl. Utah still must face major opponents in Texas Christian (7-0) and Brigham Young (6-2).
No. 22-ranked West Virginia (6-1) needed a 56-yard touchdown run by Noel Devine in the closing minutes to get by Connecticut, 28-24, and 23rd-ranked South Carolina (6-2) keep a weak 2-6 Vanderbilt team at bay long enough to win 14-10. The 15th-ranked Virginia Tech Hokies were idle this week.
Here are two unranked teams still on the move and hoping to get ranked. Central Michigan (now 7-1 and getting more impressive every week) beat Bowling Green 24-10, and Navy (6-2) beat Wake Forest 13-10.
Nebraska, which I publicly identified as a fraud in last week's wrap-up, lost again, this time to Iowa State 9-7 in what sounded like a scrum match. The Idaho Vandals, who had been flying high at 6-1, got crushed by a 4-3 Nevada team, 70-45. Ouch, that was some crash landing; nonetheless, the Vandals are still 6-2 and bowl eligible.
Tell Rudy to crank up that typesetting machine, this wrap-up is finished (just for the record, you have to be at least 65 years old to use the noun typesetting in an article like this; we do it primarily to confuse younger people between downing shots of Jameson).

How to get a vehicle with bad credit?
2 nd  luck:
The solution for people who have had significant delays in the past or even went bankrupt but who have been released. Also called “subprime” credit. Here, we are talking about rates ranging from about 8% to 28% (at the time of writing this article) depending on the credit rating and the vehicle being financed. Most of the time the financing is offered by our Auto Finance and Scotia Dealer Advantage. The majority of people who have had problems with their credit will fall into this category.
3 rd  luck:
This solution includes all special or exceptional situations that do not qualify for the 2nd chance. It is also known as “alternative credit”. For example, customers who are currently experiencing an undischarged bankruptcy, who have experienced a financial recovery on an old car or who simply can not demonstrate their income. There are many private companies that will “finance” automobiles by renting them to the customer, allowing them more control over the property. Be careful: here, you will have to pay large amounts of cash to reduce the risk. In addition, interest rates are generally close to 30%.
What impact will your credit rating have on your finances? Ask for funding here!
The impact of the interest rate
The worse your credit is, the more you will pay! Below, payments for a $ 10,000 vehicle with different 5-year interest rates (including taxes, fees and other products in addition to the excluded vehicle):
0%: $ 191.63
5%: $ 216.97
10%: $ 244.29
20%: $ 304.61
30%: $ 371.98
A difference! And, the higher the amount financed, the bigger the difference.
The impact on insurance
Of course, when you finance a car, you will need to provide the bank or the finance company with proof that you are well insured for that vehicle. You will have the obligation to inform your insurance company of the name of the bank or finance company with which you buy or rent your car. Of course, if you are a “high risk” client in terms of creditworthiness, expect to pay a lot, much more than if you are a “regular” customer. So  very general and approximate , 2 nd  luck your insurance premiums will  double  and 3 rd luck will be the  triple . Also consider when making your budget before buying.
Now that we have clarified the options available, let’s talk about the process
The process for a customer who knows his credit score is low is upside down. First, find a trusted dealer  and start with a bank pre-approval. The financial advisor will then tell you what rate you qualify for and what is the maximum amount for which you are approved. You can then use this information with your representative to find the right vehicle for you. Keep in mind that the more precarious your situation is, the more limited your choices will be. It would be financially irresponsible to purchase an almost new vehicle of $ 30,000.00 if you pre-approved with a rate of 20%. Over 6 years, you will pay about $ 25,000.00 in interest. You read that right, $ 25,000.00.
The secret to saving money
Very few consumers know this and unfortunately not enough dealers are following up. Some institutions of 2 nd  and 3 rd  opportunity will offer you the option to change your car after a year if you made all your payments on time and you qualify with almost prime. This assumes that your financial situation (credit) has not deteriorated further. So what is the magic formula? You need a car right away, but your credit is “scrap”. Read and review the following:
You can not afford the luxury of having the vehicle of your dreams.
What is important  NOW is to restore your financial situation and find a vehicle that will get you from point A to point B. Too many times I have seen people in precarious situations rush to a higher vehicle that they could barely afford just because they “credited” for that vehicle. It is said that good things come to those who wait. Better to buy a basic vehicle at $ 10,000 or less if you are going to have a rate of more than 15% and make all your payments on time. In a year, you’ll be spoiled for choice as your rate could be as low as 7% to 10% and, with smaller payments, you’ll have raised a nice amount for a down payment or, who knows, a trip in the south?
Let me demonstrate it with an example. If you want to buy a car but you have bad credit. You are pre-approved for a maximum of $ 30,000 all inclusive and a 6 year term with a rate of 18%. You dream of having a Mazda CX-5.
Scenario A:
There is one very beautiful in the yard of the dealer, it is a 2015 and in addition it is red! After a lot of bargaining, you get away with a total of $ 25,000 taxes, fees and other products included, plus you get the winter tires. WOW! Let’s see at the finance level …
Payment: $ 570 per month or $ 263 every two weeks, no worse!
Interest: $ 16,054 over 6 years, whew!
In all, the vehicle costs you $ 41,054, ouch!
Scenario B:
Well, that’s not what you’re dreaming about, but there’s a 2011 Kia Rondo that you manage to negotiate at $ 7,500 taxes included with a one-year mechanical warranty. It’s an SUV too and it makes you from point A to point B. Being a very responsible person, you only pay installments over 3 years. You know that after one year, you will be able to change and have a lower rate.
Payment: $ 271 per month or $ 125 every two weeks, hello the paid trip!
Interest: $ 2261 over 3 years, including $ 1185 over the first year.
In all, you pay $ 3,252 for the first year.
After one year, you return to the dealership to change vehicles. There will be a net difference of about $ 2,000 between what the dealer offers you and what you have to pay. Normal, you had a rate of 18%! We will add this $ 2,000 (also called “balloune”) on the total of your new loan.

birth story.
The end of pregnancy is a thing of nightmares. So big, so uncomfortable, so done. On October 31st - Halloween! - I hobbled to the doctor’s office for what would be my last visit before my due date on November 5th. I’d been told by everyone that ‘your first baby is always late’ and was beside myself. Dreading I would need to be induced. I can recall watching some episode of some labor and delivery show and hearing ‘pitocin’, ‘balloons’, etc. and it straight up horrified me. Sure enough: not dilated, no effacement. My baby was “verrrrry comfortable in there”. UGH. We went ahead and scheduled an induction date for November 12th and I got the hell out of there. I choked back tears all 25 blocks home so nervous about the thought of giving birth.
Fast forward to November 3rd - a Saturday - and I decided I was going to try some weird old wive’s tales to see if I could speed things along. I ate pineapple. I ate VERY spicy food. I walked. So. Much. Walking. On the way home from Central Park with my husband (a two and a half mile walk) I began hysterically sobbing. I could barely walk. I couldn’t be pregnant anymore. I was going to have to be induced and was SO scared. I was an absolute mess.
Sunday, November 4 2018. 7 AM. I woke up on like any other day.. except for feeling like maybe I peed my pants. To be honest, it wouldn’t have shocked me at that point so I let out a big sigh and got up to go pee... again. Something was different. I sat down and realized I was leaking! I yelled to my sleeping husband, “Don’t freak out... but I think my water broke”. I Googled and couldn’t figure out if this was the real deal or not. So, in true Taylor fashion, I decided if it was labor I needed to do my hair and makeup IMMEDIATELY.
9 AM. After I showered and got myself together, I decided to call Dr. Jovanovic. For some reason, I felt SO BAD calling him in the morning on a Sunday. He assured me that having a baby is a slow process and not to freak out, but to head to Lenox Hill so that they can check me out and determine whether my water broke. They’d send me home until I started having decent contractions and we’d come back later on, possibly even tomorrow. We left our packed hospital bag ready for later on our dresser and made our way downstairs to grab a cab.
10 AM. Pretty much as soon as I began to make my way out of our apartment, I felt some mild contractions. More like cramping and not the insane or intense pain I was expecting. The cab ride to Lenox Hill was calm. It was the day of the New York City Marathon but luckily enough we were close enough to avoid any major detours or road blocks.
10:20 AM. When we arrived on the maternity floor, I was surprised at how quiet and calm it was. There was no one at the front desk, so I waddled around looking for anyone to help show us where to go. Once we got to triage, I was told to change and they’d have me examined in a little shared room by the attending doctor. I remember Andrew thought it was hilarious that I put the hospital gown on backwards. I had never been to the hospital for anything before and had no clue where I was going, what I was doing. At this point, my contractions were more intense. I was saying “ouch” and holding my breath a little when they came on. I remember feeling like I had to pee...
10:45 AM. After being examined, I was one centimeter dilated and was informed by our amazing admitting nurse (I am so sad I never got her name) that we were NOT going home. This was it. Ugh. After all of that wishing for labor, here it was! Everything was way less eventful and a lot calmer than expected.
11 AM. We got checked into our Labor + Delivery room which was so big! I remember being happy that I’d actually have space to move, put my things, etc. Our nurse Emily was amazing. She was also from Northern Virginia, so her and Andrew were chit-chatting. Over the next few hours, my contractions got more and more painful. I tried walking a bit and using a birthing ball (side note: I actually fell off the birthing ball onto the floor, flat on my ass) but nothing was helping after a while. After being checked, I was another centimeter dilated. I asked Emily if she thought I should get an epidural - she recommended doing it soon since going from 0 - 4 centimeters is generally the longest part of labor. After that, things would likely progress more quickly. She went ahead and called an anesthesiologist to get him up to my room.
3:30 PM. Just as things were getting horrible - like, not being able to have a contraction without sobbing - the anesthesiologist arrived! At that point, Andrew had to leave and Emily stayed to help me during the epidural. She told me to hug a pillow in front of me and curl myself in a ‘letter C’. They told me that I may feel a little pinch or burning sensation in my back and that I couldn’t move. I got a very strange (not so much painful... just weird) feeling in my spine and yelped, then it was gone. Emily helped lay me down in bed and finally, I felt comfortable.
Andrew came back to a MUCH more pleasant wife and - from what I remember - we didn’t do much of anything for the rest of the afternoon and night. The nurses came in with popsicles for us since I wasn’t able to eat anything. They were amazing... I think I had three or four. Andrew watched soccer and football while I listened to music. I could still feel contractions from time to time, and I didn’t want to over-do the epidural so I tried to ride them out for as long as possible before clicking the button for more. When I did, it felt like cold water was going down my spine and then I felt much better. Super odd feeling considering I rarely even take Tylenol. The nurses and attending doctors came in from time to time to check me and I was 'progressing steadily’. This was great since I really, really, REALLY didn’t want to need pitocin or worse - gasp! - a C-section.
Around 11 PM was when I remember being far enough along that the nurses began setting up our room for delivery. They assured me it may still take an hour or two, but that we were close. HALLELUJAH! At this point, I felt the pressure of contractions (and some were even a little painful) but I definitely wasn’t in pain. Here and there I felt - what I thought - was the ‘urge to push’. Hell yeah. I could do this. I was almost there. They recommended I try to lay off the epidural button so that I could continue to feel the pressure which would help when it came go time, so I did that. I put my headphones on and listened to the playlist I had made. I didn’t feel nervous anymore. I felt... ready.
2 AM. TEN CENTIMETERS! FINALLY! The nurses let me know they were going to call my doctor who lived very close and would be in shortly. They also hooked me up to oxygen for a bit and helped me practice pushing. When my doctor arrived, I remember a lot more people flooding the room. Nurses continuing to bring in supplies, the attending doctor who had checked on me through labor. I was so ready for this to be over. So, I began to push when I felt the urge and when the nurse confirmed that I was having a contraction. Once... twice... five times... ten times.... Switching from my back to my side. I was getting nowhere. My contractions had gotten very far apart and I was only pushing every 5 - 7 minutes. After about an hour, my doctor let me know that we needed to speed things up and suggested pitocin. GULP. Fine. Whatever.
3 AM. After about 15 minutes of pitocin, I was in unbearable pain. Even with the epidural. I had horrible pinched nerves in my hips during pregnancy (remember the limping from earlier on?) and it felt like someone was stabbing me in them now. I went from prepared, determined and collected to hysterical, sobbing, squirming in pain. The pain in my hips was so bad I could hardly get myself together to push when a contraction came. Finally, it got to the point where I wasn’t able to focus through the pain to push at all. My doctor became concerned about the time I had spent in labor since my water had broken at 7 AM the previous morning and suggested we look at a C-section even though he knew I didn’t want that. I turned to my husband wimpering, feeling like I had totally failed and he assured me to do whatever I felt was right. I turned to my doctor and agreed that a C-section would be best.
4 AM. After that, my whole 20 hour labor felt like a blur and thinks went into overdrive. I signed some consent forms, the anesthesiologist came in to get me ready for surgery, the nurses cleaned me up and I was rolling off to the Operating Room. I remember it being a shorter trip than I had imagined. I was completely numb now and it felt MARVELOUS. They lugged me onto the operating table and put up a sheet. The doctors and nurses were all talking, I was looking around the room and over at Andrew in his scrubs and all of a sudden - POP! - Noah was born! My doctor remarked that he had “a loud voice and was right on time” since it was November 5th, his due date :)
Andrew whisked him away to another room where they cleaned him up, weighed and measured him, and all that good stuff. I was sewn up and rolled into recovery where I got to see him for the first time and it was all worth it. Despite the extreme fatigue from a long labor, crazy after-effects of lots of medication and intense hunger for a bagel with lox, I was so insanely in love with this little guy!
Main Takeaways: water breaking is not quite like the movies, C-sections aren’t that bad, breastfeeding is not always ‘natural’, listen to and appreciate the beautiful souls that are your nurses during this time. Seriously. And soak in all the moments you can without worrying about silly things or anything beyond your control. It feels like years, but goes by like seconds.

Hello #NewportBeach !! We are in the process of getting a CRYOSAUNA!! What does this therapy do???! Read below 👍😎👍 Well for starters.... Professional athletes have discovered the cryosauna as a powerful treatment to decrease recovery time and increase athletic performance!! In the Cryosauna, clients are protected with socks, gloves, and slippers. In the Cryochamber, clients wears additional mouth and ear protection. Clothing worn during the treatment is minimal. During the 1.5-3min session the average skin temperature drops to 10 °C (50 °F), while the coldest skin temperature can be 0 °C (32 °F). The core body temperature remains unchanged throughout the process, however, it may drop slightly afterwards. Clients report that the experience is invigorating and improves a variety of conditions such as psychological stress, insomnia, rheumatism, muscle and joint pain, and various skin conditions.* Musculoskeletal: The anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties of cryotherapy can drastically improve joint disorders such as rheumatoid- and osteoarthritis. Athletes are using whole body cryotherapy to recover from injuries and improve their performance. Skin: Skin exposure to temperatures below 200 degrees Fahrenheit triggers the systemic release/ rapid cooling of the skin activates the production of collagen (similar to lasers treatments of the face, where very hot temperatures are used). The skin regains elasticity and becomes smoother and more even-toned, significantly improving conditions such as cellulite and skin aging. Skin vessels and capillaries undergo severe vasoconstriction (to keep the core temperature from dropping), followed by vasodilation after the procedure. Toxins and other stored deposits are flushed out of the layers of the skin and blood perfusion is improved. The anti-inflammatory properties of cryotherapy are also used to treat chronic skin conditions such as psoriasis and dermatitis. Immune System: Cryotherapy improves the function of the immune system and decreases stress levels. 😎FREE CONSULTATION 😎 (Click contact button👆👆) #newportbeach #ouch #drzo #natural #medicine #sports #treatment #cryotherapy #pain #longevity #active (at Grecian Chiropractic and Wellness)
