#but Arya haters ignore all of that and make her story all about being a warrior who can't think for herself

I'm rewatching the season 8 of GOT, and it's amazing how it gets worse each time each time I notice a new inconsistency. the fact that the prophecy was for nothing, and how with arya killing the night king it made me understand that anyone could kill him, this person just had to have aegon's dagger in their hands like (???)
Why would you do that to yourself?? Forget rewatching, I haven't even watched the final episode (and I never will) 😭
The past few seasons of that show made no sense and I'm tired of people pretending otherwise. It was literally that "anyone could've killed him"; they just shuffled through characters to find one that "felt right" and even considered the Hound or Brienne. The only options should've been Jon or Dany, but Jon would've been "too obvious" (as though being able to tell where the plot is going is a bad thing) and Dany killing the Night King would've been "too heroic" for a character they desperately wanted to demonize. So we were left with...what we got, which really highlights how poorly D&D handled all of these characters. They made Arya's story all about being a fighter, erasing the majority of her development from the books, and then they didn't even make space for her to use those skills. Her face-changing skills never came up after she killed the Freys, she didn't carry out any actual assassinations (they didn't even consider sending her to kill Cersei?), and if they hadn't decided that she would kill the Night King she wouldn't have done anything significant. With the "Ed Sheeran was a surprise for Maisie's last season" thing I doubt they even initially planned for her to survive the entire time, which would've made her story even more pointless. They put no effort into writing her character and just did "whatever was most badass", but I'm supposed to believe that their writing for Arya is anywhere close to what George is writing for her 🥴

Ok so here's where D&D suck. They try to create an "open to interpretation" kind of scenario with most female characters, arya is definitely there but nobody is given a hard time over it more than Daenerys. They never explain or make her explain the why's & how's, because they want daenerys to be the "bad ass dragon queen whose impulse has given the show it's many epic cinematic moments"
GRRM does something quite similar too. He writes characters as faulted as human beings are supposed to be, he likes to conflict a reader's mind in the most tiring way possible. He said afterall he believes Faulkner's words "The only thing worth writing about is the human heart in conflict with itself".
He makes his character do an action/say some words that more or likely they HAD to. But then he introduces the consequences of the said action/words while at the same time he gives a reason & understanding of why such a hard decision was made/tough words were used. GRRM creates conflict in such a way that it is upto YOU. The Reader, to decide for themselves what they make of the situation. Which ultimately means it's only one's assumption to choose to believe the character was wrong because you choose to ignore the reason behind their action/words. While the one's who support the character chooses to accept the character not only with the reason behind the action/words but also with the consequences of it.
Your "hate" towards daenerys is just YOUR assumption, your villainization of daenerys is just YOUR assumption, your degradation of daenerys's efforts & experiences is just YOUR assumption. Not the actual story definitely not the author's intent.
The scene where daenerys takes the unsullied is the most bad-ass, jaw dropping & inspiring scene centered on a female character ever. When it dropped I remember GA being taken by how "bad-ass" she is. But now I see haters using Astaphor as a "brutality" condoned by daenerys. All because the show never cared to reflect upon a deeper more sympathetic thought process behind doing what she did. While tge book reading haters like I said above choose to ignore her reason & only care about the consequences.
Tv Show: "we never really get this sense .. of her capacity for cruelty. They are surrounded by people who are terrible people but haven't done anything to her personally. It's interesting to me how the sphere of her empathy widens the sphere of her cruelty widens as well."
-Dan Weiss ( X )
Books:
"I was alone for a long time, Jorah. All alone but for my brother. I was such a small scared thing. Viserys should have protected me, but instead he hurt me and scared me worse. He shouldn't have done that. He wasn't just my brother, he was my king. Why do the gods make kings and queens, if not to protect the ones who can't protect themselves?"
"Some kings make themselves. Robert did."
"He was no true king," Dany said scornfully. "He did no justice. Justice . . . that's what kings are for."
– Daenerys III ASOS
The show never showed this side of daenerys's story GRRM is literally giving a reason behind what she is doing at Astaphor while in the future books you get the consequences of those actions, THAT'S HOW YOU CREATE AN INTERNAL CONFLICT IN A READER (&/or) VIEWER.
What D&D do with dany all the time is leave her reasons behind & only show her actions & the consequences. Which over time lead everyone to believe she is descending into some form of madness, that she is an entitled power hungry monarch & that she is actually being a villain! Ignoring the fact that D&D draw inspiration for the show from a book series whose author treats all of his characters in a conflicting manner.
Something like that happened in s08e01. Am not talking about the s@nsa vs daenerys situation. I think it's a call back to Alaric Stark & Queen Alysanne Targaryen's relations. Alaric Stark was known to be cold & hard towards Queen Alysanne at first but eventually softened towards her in time being as he got to know her more. S@nsa stans don't need a reason to hate on daenerys so this storyline was like a gift to them to continue that petty hate.
No matter what their relationship prospers into I have to say s@nsa was being unnecessarily rude towards daenerys. Alaric Stark actually had a reason to be cold towards the Targaryens, his brother died defending the wall against a mutiny caused by some prisoners King Jaehaerys had sent to the wall. But there is nothing that daenerys did to harm the Starks?! S@nsa herself has no reason to hold a grudge towards daenerys or the Targaryens. The northern lords are being a bunch of ignorant fucks still dwelling on the politics of the past that which a "smart" person would overlook given the state of emergency they are in. Instead s@nsa is using that ignorance to incite more segregation in Winterfell. Knowing well that the wall was breached she is treating the dragons as a burden when girl! they are your best defence against the undead one that Night King controls. S@nsa might be smart but right now she is not acting smart!
Regarding the matter of food, I don't think s@nsa understands the level of danger that the oncoming army of the dead possesses against the living. Alaric Stark was judgemental of Queen Alysanne & the party that travelled with her because she wasn't necessarily there to defend Winterfell against anything, she was there on one of the many royal progression's that the king & queen did all over the kingdoms. But daenerys isn't here on some progress she is here to stand her armies beside the North men & Knights of the Vale in the fight. It is S@nsa's duty as the Lady of Winterfell to arrange for the food & other commodities for perhaps the greatest alliance northerners have.
I don't much tread into the doylism aspect of things but the way s@nsa said that she didn't account for the dothraki & the unsullied did she mean she was expecting Jon to die in the south? Because there was only two ways Jon's southern trip would go he might return with allies hence more mouths to feed or he might die. That sure don't sound all that smart of a deduction though!
When daenerys said "whatever they want" she defended her children reminds me of how everyone used to tell the direwolves don't belong inside the castle walls but out in the wild but the stark kids defended them anyways. Daenerys did the same thing too she defended her magical wild beasts who, just like the direwolves are dangerous & different.
Daenerys expecting respect from sansa isn't entitlement, Jon is S@nsa's king & daenerys is Jon's Queen. By that it is a certain decency to give daenerys that respect. In inside the episode video David nutter & Sophie say that s@nsa wants daenerys to know that this is HER home??! I mean daenerys doesn't want her home she wants your respect, she has a home it's called Dragonstone!
“No man has ever died from bending his knee,” her father had once told her.
“He who kneels may rise again, blade in hand. He who will not kneel stays dead, stiff legs and all.”
-the Kings Prize ADWD
I just can't wait until s@nsa softens upto daenerys like Alaric did towards Alysanne. So people can actually focus on other more important things in the storyline.
Then about the reaction Sam had when he learnt about his father & brother's death.. THAT WAS ABSURD. He clearly wasn't that sad when he learned of randyll's death but his brother's death affected him most. Which reminds me of a quote..
He wondered whether Dickon would shed a tear for his brother who died in the snow, somewhere off beyond the edge of the world. Why should he? A coward’s not worth weeping over.
-Samwell I, ASOS.
Do it now. Stop crying and fight, you baby. Fight, craven. It was his father he heard, it was Alliser Thorne, it was his brother Dickon and the boy Rast.
Craven, craven, craven. He giggled hysterically, wondering if they would make a wight of him, a huge fat white wight always tripping over its own dead feet.
Do it, Sam. Was that Jon, now? Jon was dead. You can do it, you can, just do it.
-Samwell I, ASOS.
Sam remembers his brother in the books with the likes of Ser Alliser Thorne & Rast. It is understandable that his heart might be broken to listen of his brothers death but to do what he did especially to the last remaining family of his mentor, Maester Aemon  Who treated him 1000x times better than both his father & brother.. Maester Aemon felt so passionately about Daenerys & he only trusted that information to Sam.
"No one ever looked for a girl," he said. "It was a prince that was promised, not a princess. Rhaegar, I thought... What fools we were, who thought ourselves so wise! The error crept in from the translation. Dragons are neither male nor female, Barth saw the truth of that, but now one and now the other, as changeable as flame. The language misled us all for a thousand years. Daenerys is the one, born amidst salt and smoke. The dragons prove it." Just talking of her seemed to make him stronger. "I must go to her. I must."
-Maester Aemon, Samwell IV, AFFC.
Daenerys is our hope. Tell them that, at the citadel. Make them listen. They must send her a Maester. Daenerys must be counseled, taught, protected."
-Maester Aemon, Samwell IV, AFFC.
Alleras stepped up next to sam. "Aemon would've gone to her if he had the strength. He wanted us to send a Maester to her, to counsel her & protect her & fetch her safely home." "Did he?" Archmaester marwyn shrugged. "Perhaps it's good that he died before he got to oldtown. Elsewise the grey sheep might have had to kill him, and that would have made the poor old dears wring with wrinkled hands." "Kill him?" Sam said, shocked. "Why?" "If I tell you they may kill you too" marwyn smiled a ghastly smile the juice of the sourleaf running red between his teeth.
-Samwell V, AFFC.
It is so awful that Sam has infact put the last two family members of Maester Aemon's blood against each other. He is treating Daenerys the way he treated Alliser Thorne when Sam realised if Ser Alliser becomes the Lord Commander his life would be hell so he literally uses Jon & raises him to be a Lord Commander in the hind sight to protect himself. When Jon actually (in the books) decides to fight for Winterfell & take stannis's offer.
Instead, he blamed Jon Snow and wondered when Jon’s heart had turned to stone. Once he asked Maester Aemon that very question, when Gilly was down at the canal fetching water for them. “When you raised him up to be the lord commander,” the old man answered.
-Maester Aemon, Samwell III, AFFC
“Dragons,” Aemon whispered. “The grief and glory of my House, they were.”
- Maester Aemon, Samwell III, AFFC
Not only was Sam's reaction a little over the top but it was wrong how he channeled it upon Jon as well. He ruined the most important revelation of Jon's life because of, again, himself. Jon also didn't seem to care about the fact that daenerys is related to her (lmao) but was more taken aback by Sam suggesting him treason against daenerys.
I do not want to play the oathbreaker, even for good reason.
- Jon VIII, ACOK.
Jon Snow flexed the fingers of his sword hand, remembering all he’d lost. Sam, you sweet fat fool, you played me a cruel jape when you made me lord commander. A lord commander has no friends.
-Jon X, ADWD.
"I had a frightening dream last night, m'lord," Dolorous Edd confessed. "You were my steward, fetching my food & cleaning up my leaving. I was Lord Commander, with never a moment's peace." Jon did not smile. "Your nightmare, my life."
-Jon VI, ADWD.
Daenerys: "We all enjoy what we're good at" Jon: "I don't!"
-GOT, s07e03.
Jon doesn't want to have power for the sake of power. Over & over again in the books & in the show he made it clear he did what he did to fight the Army of the Dead not for a crown.
Jon: "Do you think we can beat the Army of the Dead without her? I fought them sansa twice, you want to worry about who holds what title I am telling you it doesn't matter. Without her we don't stand a chance.. Do you have any Faith in me at all?
Sansa: you know I do.
Jon: she'll be a good queen, for all of us. She's not her father.
Sansa: no, she's much prettier .... Did you bend the knee to save the North or because you love her?
-GOT s08e01
There are two reasons why anyone would bend the knee.
•Out of fear, fear of cruelty, collapse or death.
•Out of love & respect & trust.
Jon bent the knee to daenerys for the latter, that scene with sansa & Jon was cut off annoyingly leaving the argument hanging but there was more than just love, yes Love is there My god if this isn't what every jonerys stan had been screaming since s07 ended. But there was more than love, there was respect for letting him mine the dragonglass regardless of no existing alliance, there is also trust when daenerys actually not only let him go beyond the wall but also flew all the way there, solidifying the trust he placed in her to come to his aid without an alliance in place.
Jon glanced over his shoulder. The shadow was there, just as she had said, etched in moonlight against the wall. A girl in grey on a dying horse, he thought. Coming here, to you. Arya. He turned back to the Red priestess. Jon could feel her warmth. She has power. The thought came unbidden, seizing him with iron teeth, but this was not a woman he cared to be indebted to, not even for his little sister.
-Jon IV, ADWD.
But instead he chose to be indebted to daenerys by asking for her help without giving her anything in return. Because he trusts her to be a good, reliable Queen & she won his trust.
Sam: "Don't you know?
Jon: know what?
Sam: Daenerys, she executed my father & brother. They were her prisoners.
Jon: ......
Sam: she didn't tell you
Jon: I'm so sorry. We need to end this war.
Sam: would you have done it?
Jon: I have executed men who disobeyed me.
Sam: you've also spared men thousands of Wildlings when they refused to kneel.
Jon: I wasn't a king.
Sam: but you were you've always been. Jon: I gave her my crown Sam. I've bent the knee am not King in the North anymore.
Sam: Am not talking about the king in the north am talking about the king of the bloody seven kingdoms.
.......
your mother was Lyanna Stark your father, your real father was Rhaegar Targaryen. You've never been a Bastard you are Aegon Targaryen true heir to the iron throne.
.............
You're the true king, Aegon Targaryen, sixth of his name, protector of the realm, all of it.
Jon: Daenerys is our Queen.
Sam: she shouldn't be.
Jon: it's treason.
Sam: it's the truth. You gave up your crown to save your people would she do the same?
She literally did the very thing in s07e06 when she left dragonstone with Drogon, Rhaegal & Viserion to rescue Jon.
Tyrion: "You cant win the throne if you're dead. You cant break the wheel if you're dead."
Daenerys: "So what would you have me do?"
Tyrion: Nothing. Sometimes nothing is the hardest thing to do. If you die we're all lost everyone, everything!"
Daenerys: "You told me to do nothing once before & i lostened to you ... am not doing nothing again."
There are moments in the story both in books & show where we do undeniably see daenerys put the people or her children ahead of her crown.
That morning she summoned her captains and commanders to the garden, rather than descending to the audience chamber. "Aegon the Conqueror brought fire and blood to Westeros, but afterward he gave them peace, prosperity, and justice. But all I have brought to Slaver's Bay is death and ruin. I have been more khal than queen, smashing and plundering, then moving on."
"You have brought freedom as well," Missandei pointed out.
"Freedom to starve?" asked Dany sharply. "Freedom to die? Am I a dragon, or a harpy?" Am I mad? Do I have the taint?
"A dragon," Ser Barristan said with certainty. "Meereen is not Westeros, Your Grace."
"But how can I rule seven kingdoms if I cannot rule a single city?" He had no answer to that. Dany turned away from them, to gaze out over the city once again. "My children need time to heal and learn. My dragons need time to grow and test their wings. And I need the same. I will not let this city go the way of Astapor. I will not let the harpy of Yunkai chain up those I've freed all over again." She turned back to look at their faces. "I will not march."
"What will you do then, Khaleesi?" asked Rakharo.
"Stay," she said. "Rule. And be a queen."
– Daenerys VI, ASOS.
Not that she must or she needs to give up her crown for Jon or anyone so Sam can be convinced with her being a good queen. Fuck that! Sam is being impulsive here (something that daenerys is blamed of, turns out everyone does it) she has on multiple occasions put her people first. Sam hopefully learns it in time because his knows I don't want him to be the A-hole he acted like..
If she had been some ordinary woman, she would gladly have spent her whole life touching Daario, tracing his scars and making him tell her how he’d come by every one. I would give up my crown if he asked it of me, Dany thought … but he had not asked it, and never would. Daario might whisper words of love when the two of them were as one, but she knew it was the dragon queen he loved. If I gave up my crown, he would not want me. Besides, kings who lost their crowns oft lost their heads as well, and she could see no reason why it would be any different for a queen.
-Daenerys VII, ADWD.
A queen belongs not to herself but to her people.
– Daenerys V, ADWD.
The red priests believed in two gods, she had heard, but two who were eternally at war. Dany liked that even less. She would not want to be eternally at war.
- Daenerys V, ASOS.
"We will have it all back someday, sweet sister," he would promise her. Sometimes his hands shook when he talked about it. "The jewels and the silks, Dragonstone and King's Landing, the Iron Throne and the Seven Kingdoms, all they have taken from us, we will have it back." Viserys lived for that day. All that Daenerys wanted back was the big house with the red door, the lemon tree outside her window, the childhood she had never known.
- Daenerys I, AGOT.
She did take a dozen flasks of scented oils, the perfumes of her childhood; she had only to close her eyes and sniff them and she could see the big house with the red door once more.
- Daenerys VI, AGOT.
"He died for me." Dany clutched her lion pelt to her chest. Underneath, a sheer white linen tunic covered her to midthigh. She had been dreaming of a house with a red door when Missandei woke her. There had been no time to dress.
- Daenerys I, ADWD.
"Is it Daario? What's happened?" In her dream they had been man and wife, simple folk who lived a simple life in a tall stone house with a red door. In her dream he had been kissing her all over—her mouth, her neck, her breasts.
-Daenerys II, ADWD.
Dany had never known a home. In Braavos, there had been a house with a red door, but that was all.
-Daenerys III, ADWD.
Soon Dany was as clean as she was ever going to be. She pushed herself to her feet, splashing softly. Water ran down her legs and beaded on her breasts. The sun was climbing up the sky, and her people would soon be gathering. She would rather have drifted in the fragrant pool all day, eating iced fruit off silver trays and dreaming of a house with a red door, but a queen belongs to her people, not to herself.
- Daenerys IX, ADWD.
Isn't it amazing how the very episode in which Sam raises the question "will she give up her crown?" is the very episode where daenerys said this
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She obviously didn't feel at home neither at Dragonstone nor at Winterfell. This romantic moment is the closest to a house with the red door this show has ever done.
Also notice how throughout the episode whenever Jon is speaking to others he refers to daenerys as Queen. But when he is alone with her by that waterfall he refers to her as "a southern girl". Jon loves the girl daenerys not "the floppy ears" of the dragon queen that she wears..
"So we pray. I want to plant my olive trees and see them fruit." Does it matter that Hizdahr's kisses do not please me? Peace will please me. Am I a queen or just a woman?
- Daenerys VII, ADWD.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So the point is neither does it make sense for Jon to turn against daenerys all of a sudden for something like a title that he himself just said doesn't matter to him. Given that the third episode is where the battle for dawn is supposed to take place. Iron throne is not on Jon's mind. Plus I don't think Daenerys will be anything but shocked, confused yet happy to find a family member, none other than the son of her elder brother whom she idolizes, she is in love with Jon as he is with her!
A crown should not sit easy on the head. One of her royal forebears had said that, once. Some Aegon, but which one? Five Aegons had ruled the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. There would have been a sixth, but the Usurper’s dogs had murdered her brother’s son when he was still a babe at the breast. If he had lived, I might have married him.
-Daenerys I, ADWD.
Ser Davos is already planning a better solution to all this. A just woman & an honorable man to probably get married!
Now I need Sam to somehow learn more & more about who daenerys actually is.

Soooo episode 4 is just... Weird.
I'm especially tired of hearing about Jon supposedly being a better ruler when he and Daenerys seem to be about the same. Everyone just wants Jon on the throne bc they know they can manipulate him (I love him but he is easy to manipulate sometimes). People don't want Daenerys bc they can't control her and they're mad about it now that they know they can't.
I saw some people saying that Daenerys was manipulating Jon but like I saw none of that coming from her. She was like the only person that wasn't up to no good. Every single one of my family members is manipulative so I know it when I see it! And also bc I do a little manipulation of my own to survive capitalism as a jobless teen so I know what it's like to be manipulated and to manipulate! Daenerys wasn't doing that but trying to prevent more problems for everyone, including Jon.
I was a bit disappointed in Jon but I don't hate him it anything. I just don't think he's quite used to sharing feelings and speaking his mind. I did wish he has said “I love you” back to Daenerys. And obviously, I know things are gonna be a little off till he fully makes peace/comes to terms with his true parentage bc I'm pretty sure he loves her all the same. And I'm happy we got to hear him say that Daenerys is his queen and nothing would change that.
I want to smack some sense into Jon! You don't have a furry friend and then NOT pet them before you leave! And you sure as heck don't just give them away! Leaving pets for even a few hours is terrible for me so that scene just made no sense to me whatsoever.
Let me just say I am as tired of watching dragons die and I am of all the misogyny in this shows writing. As an animal lover, it wasn't hard at all to fall in love with the dragons bc they just seem so realistic and they have personality. So watching them die is terrible. Especially bc I know how it feels to lose a nonhuman creature you see as your child. It's horrible, as anyone that's ever had that bond with an animal knows. And knowing that Drogon is all alone without his brothers now is just heartbreaking! Poor sweet baby only has his mama now and no dragon bros to wander the skies with 😭😭😭
Jaime leaving Brienne made me so upset. She doesn't ask for much but she wanted him to stay and he couldn't even do that for her. I do understand that it's hard to get out and let go of toxic/abusive relationships bc there's usually so much that went into them but I really thought he had left Cersei for good. But hey, this season seems to be about stupid decisions with zero logic behind them!
I'm just sick of Sansa this season. I don't want to be but she's been written so horribly I can't ignore it and make excuses anymore. I think Bran is the only true-born Stark I actually like at this point bc he's chill. And I really don't understand Arya leaving Winterfell after all that family talk.
I OBVIOUSLY hated how Sansa and Sandor talked about Sansa’s rape. I can't think of any rape victims being glad they were raped and abused but what can I expect from misogynistic writing. What a disappointment.
I'm pretty disappointed that Sansa shared Jon’s secret and has put Daenerys (and even Jon!) in danger (which I suppose she would be happy about since she's a petty manipulator now). I understand why Jon wanted her and Arya to know bc I hate keeping secrets from people I love and trust too, it doesn't feel good. It feels a lot like lying. But I do think he should have listened to Daenerys and not told anyone or just told Arya since she is trustworthy at least. I just can't believe the writers would make Sansa do such a thing and still try to make Daenerys look like the villain (which I don't see bc I understand people and feelings and enjoy actually learning about human behavior however I can).
I ugly cried when Missandei died bc she was so pure and intelligent and just perfect. And obviously bc I love her so much. The world didn't deserve her! That was so horrible I can't even believe they did that to her. Especially considering she was the only woc left on the show! I did love her last words though. I just can't believe she died in chains 😭
I don't see what everyone is talking about in terms of Dany going “mad”. I see a human woman reacting to loss after loss, betrayal after betrayal in such a normal, human way. I honestly feel like I actually am going insane and I haven't suffered anything compared to Daenerys! Missandei was clearly the last straw and I don't blame Daenerys for anything she does now (I probably wouldn't anyway bc I do understand how war works and don't blame the strongest woman for it first chance I get). Like seriously, her haters’ internalized misogyny is showing!
I officially hate Cersei now bc she had Missandei killed. That is not something I can look past just bc she's kinda relatable or used to be anyway.
And I'm so done with Varys. Tyrion seemed pretty cool this episode so I don't hate him atm. He was trying to defend Daenerys at least.
I just don't like the brutality of this episode. Some deaths make sense but some don't (and I mean in the series as a whole, not just this episode)! If all I wanted was blood and gore and murder I would watch nothing but John Wick type movies and play games like Call of Duty. I love fantasy. I love magick and I love romance and I especially loved how this fantasy in particular managed to still seem realistic with dragons and direwolves and magick and all the neat stuff we don't have in the real world (well, except magick, we do have that). I only play Nintendo games for a reason! I'm gonna have to force myself to get back to reading the books now just to get to know the real characters and all the storylines that were left out.
I honestly feel betrayed after watching this last episode. I've never been so invested in something like this and I probably won't be again tbh bc I don't think anything could compare. The way things are playing out upset me as a woman and as a feminist, especially knowing this is a global thing! You find want to be sending the wrong messages when everyone on Earth is watching.
I feel played! I guess that's what I get for being optimistic about something for a change. I always get tricked into looking on the “bright side” only to be disappointed yet again! And almost always by men or humanity as a whole. I much prefer expecting the worst and not being disappointed when it happens. Though I seem to always hope for the best and prepare for the worst so I guess this is going to be an endless cycle for me, lol.
Not sure why I'm always surprised when straight white guys disappoint me, especially when they're in charge of telling the stories of women and poc or even just anyone that isn't a straight white cis guy. I suppose we can only imagine how different (and probably better) this show would have been if there were more female writers, especially woc!!! Gosh, I bet the show would have been 10x better. Oh well, I guess.
I think that's the end of my personal rant over episode 4, lol.

My Opinion On Jonsa
In the beginning there were the Starks. They were this family that deserves all the fan support because of the wonderful familial portrait painted. Honorable, dutiful, and entrenched in Northern culture; I loved them from the moment introduced.
From the initial moments, I too was a Sansa hater. She seemed a prim and proper young lady who foolishly followed her fantastical notions of life. Especially concerning her future wifely duties to Joffery. She was easily unlikable with her snotty demeanor towards her sister Arya and bastard “half brother” Jon.
Arya was indeed my favorite. Full of life, she seemed to be a future plot pusher. She would try to move mountains for her family and do it as the typical warrior woman, an archetype I myself enjoy if done right.
Jon was an afterthought behind Robb, but there seemed to be the element of underplayed to him that couldn’t be ignored and when I started tonread the books it became clear that he was going to become an important component to the story. I just didn’t like his storyline to begin with. Too full of angst I told myself.
Dany was fascinating and for the first couple seasons she was a favorite. An underdog whose family had been driven into obscurity with an abusive elder brother that I cackled for when Drogo poured molten gold over white hair. She was deserving of those dragons and for avenging the family she would never know.
But during the development of characters throughout the seasons, many ofthese opinions changed. Everyone is entitled to view stories how they please and I have always tried to stay away from overly expressing mine or criticizing others.
For Jon he became more interesting. He developed as a leader but is still far from my favorite male character. Tyrion still has potential, even though I feel like his intelligence and sarcasm have been missing in the latest season. I also enjoy Jamie’s development as well.
Arya moved away from being my favorite Stark but still a story I enjoy watching unravel. She has risen up from helplessness very quickly and become an avenger. A little vigilante who betrayed the Faceless God, I do have some worries. That story appears to be far from over and a part of me doubts that the entirety of Arya is that girl we saw making a list of hits.
Dany, well she has been interesting. I know she is a fan favorite. Believe me, I was in her corner too! She is beautiful and powerful, a female character that has potential to sit on the Iron Throne! She would be a contrast between Robert and Joffery. The elder being neglectful but keeping the peace and the later….well we all know his style of ruling.
It is likely important to let you all know that I graduated with a bachelors in Political Science and Public Administration. So this background has definitely skewed my perspective on many stories, especially one as politically centered as Got.
What made me change my opinion of Dany came as she started to accumulate forces and gain territory. Her platform became to shift around. She was a liberator! A woman who would break the chains! Slave cities were overtaken and the people were happy.
At least some of them. And only for a time. I began to notice her inability to rule and adapt an understanding to cultures. What did she expect when she executed slave owners? Or derail their attempts of negotiations? They began a countermovement.
It is in her dealings with others that it became clear she wasn’t for to ruling. An all or nothing mentality leads to more conflicts. While yes! I do agree the slave owners are morally wrong, there are other instances of Dany being unable to find a middle ground. The Khals, the Tarlys, Jon’s plea for aid.
Clearly, her reasoning for wanting the Iron Throne is for self as well. There are no people to liberate. She burned an important food supply with winter upon them and meaning she doesn’t understand the economic or culture makeup of the land she hopes to rule.
Also, of all the times she talks about the ‘why’s, avenging her family is never mentioned often enough. Breaking the wheel is all fine and dandy but there hasn’t been a significant enough display of the common folk besides in King’s Landing to create an atmosphere of discontent. A few scenes do indicate strife due to war but Dany brings more war and is a foreign invader mimicking Targaryen invasion. Targaryen rule also was not peaceful, especially in recent history.
It isn’t that I dislike Dany but I’m not cheering for her conquest anymore. I find her completely lacking as a ruler. A point I plan to meta as to why she should have been given more time over seas to learn this and develop as a leader who can make knowledgeable, unimpulsive administrative decisions using real world examples I picked up during school.
And, as said before, unlikable character to me became a favorite. Sansa, despite immense fan hatred. As a character who suffered, she also gained a strength that many ignore. She is highly intelligent. She has faced political masterminds and survived. It’s an asset that many ignore because they have viewed her as weak for so long. In all honesty though, who would have been able to endure that?
Not many. Sansa has a fire and she does it in a feminine way. It’s a massive pet peeve to see people bash on her because she doesn’t wield a sword to slay her enemies or exemplify masculine qualities to be strong. She IS fucking slaying though.
Jon is where he is because of Sansa. The show has proven that she is a capable ruler and the people actually prefer her. Yet, she doesn’t take the reigns and usurp Jon.
Their on screen chemistry was built up more than his romance with Dany. Why shoot it like that unless it is bad story telling? I didn’t even realize how much of a pair Sansa and Jon until Jon went to Dragonstone and a contrast was made. I was super content with it being just overly intense familial moments that the directors were trying to portray. Because YEAH STARK LOVE! It could have been sold that way to me.
It was watching the poorly done romance with Dany that made me start to wonder. It was too sudden and there was no mutual ANYTHING. They DIDN’T even make their love scene intense or romantic with Bran revealing their Aunt-Nephew connection. We already knew this as viewers. Why do this? It didn’t leave me with a sense of warm fuzzies.
The producers and directors and the actors could have nailed into the audience that these two were going to compliment another and be a force to reckon with…but they failed. My hope is that it isn’t simply bad story making and telling and that it was intentional.
Rewatching the seasons made Jonsa clearer and looking at others opinions as well as the books! I don’t want to sell Jonsa to anyone. This is just my opinion on the matter.
I figured if I was going to make metas it wouldn’t be trying to turn people over to the fandom. No.
It is honestly clear that Dany shouldn’t rule the Westrosi right now. With Jon perhaps there is life to that plot but I part of me wished it would have been orchestrated better. I can live with a disappointing ending or hope they rectify the mistake next season. Some “maybe spoilers” reveal that Sansa falls to the White Walkers. I sincerely hope that they haven’t made this character suffer for nearly 6 seasons to kill her off when she has come into her own.
Another part of me hopes that they have Dany come to understand the people she hopes to rule through her failures because she never really did back in Essos.
If not, I will forever be in the Jonsa fan base. It may be dillusional and a crackship but right now it is making the most sense to me. The appeal for a good story is behind it and, unless the alternative starts making sense, I will go down with this ship.

Issa GoT season 7 recap...
I just finished season 7 of Game of Thrones & I have a lot of feelings so we are going to talk about them.
Miscellaneous
Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons....
Bitch, Dany knows how to make an entrance...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I get so wet every time Dany says, “Dracarys”. Dany coming in with Drogon & her Khalasar...
Tumblr media
When I tell you, half the Dothraki men are fine as fuck & can as John Legend would say, have all of me...
Tumblr media
The battle was beautiful. The men where fine. Dany was bad ass. Jaime tried but nah, bruh.
Missandei & Grey Worm
I love Missandei & Grey Worm. They are so pure. Their young love. She was teaching him to read & shit. Helping him be a better version of himself.  Grey Worm feeling all of these new feelings. Grey Worm is so pure & I want him protected. Like there is so much hidden emotional damage there. I love seeing him be vulnerable & learning all types of things from Missandei.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It totally slipped my mind that being Unsullied meant that Grey Worm had his penis & balls cut off as a child. So that scene when Missandei & Grey Worm were finally physically intimate, was just beautiful. He was scared for her to see him. That vulnerability, that fear, that acceptance, & young love....
Tumblr media
But bitch, the goodbye head. Listen, Grey Worm is a fast learner. I can tell from the way Grey Worm was kissing on Missandei that from the moment he saw her naked he thought about all the ways he wanted to explore her body.
THIS
Tumblr media
IS
Tumblr media
SOME
Tumblr media
PRO
Tumblr media
SHIT!!!!
Grey Worm did that! Took me back to Jon Snow with the wildling girl talking about, “I just wanted to kiss you there.”
Brienne of Tarth
I am here for Brienne. I love her so much. I have been here for her since the beginning & I love how she literally has three men in love with her. Well, two & a half; Jaime, Tormund, & The Hound.
The Hound isn’t in love with Brienne but you can tell he admires the fuck out of her. Brienne beating his ass & leaving him near death humbled his ass. She brought his ass clarity & he now on the side of good. She changed that ass. The Hound will fuck anything up except fire & Brienne. I dead ass think he would face his brother before he face Brienne again.
I’m not even going to lie to you, I love Jaime & Brienne’s relationship. I shipped it. Brienne brings out the best in Jaime, Tyrion also but this isn’t about him right now. Brienne & Jaime make a good team & I still love them together & their mutual admiration of each other but bitch, I’m torn. I love Tormund & his crush on Brienne is beautiful & I ship it.
Let me paint a picture for you about Tormund’s love for Brienne...
Tumblr media
Do you see how he looks at her? He is so smitten & adorable. It was love at first sight for Tormund.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The way Tormund talks about Brienne is everything.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
From your mouth to God’s ears Tormund. I want big monster babies from you & Brienne to take over the world.
Even Jon sees it & ships it...
Tumblr media
What is their ship name? I have seen Torienne &Brimund, & Trienne once or twice. Which one are we going with?
“You don’t need to choose. You’re a Greyjoy and you’re a Stark.”
I know he betrayed Robb Stark but I ALWAYS felt sympathy for Theon Greyjoy. He was never about that life. Even with taking Winterfell, he didn’t deserve what Rambitch did to him. I always want him to be better because he just makes me sad. His abuse was too much.
Tumblr media
I’m so glad Jon forgave him & told him that he didn’t have to choose. He is a Greyjoy & a Stark. Theon needed that. He needed some peace.
Now I need him to get Yara back because I love her.
Sansa & Arya
Little Dick Finger trying to play the sisters against each other for the sake of being a bitter hater bitch. I don’t know his motivates. They might have mentioned them but I don’t really pay him much attention. All I know is Arya in the murder business & Sansa found a few of her faces.
Tumblr media
Sansa confused as fuck to why her sister got faces in her bag & Arya starts on this shit about how she could cut off Sansa’s face & wear the lady clothes & be a lady for a day.
Tumblr media
While she was talking that, all I could think of was that scene from The Silence of the Lambs. Actual footage of Arya dressed up as a lady...
Tumblr media
Arya loves fucking with Sansa. I’m sure of it but of course she not gone kill her sister. So they talk in secret & the next time we see them, they holding court. It looks like Arya is going to be charged but then Sansa is like: “You stand accused of murder. You stand accused of treason. How do you answer these charges.............Lord Baelish?”
Tumblr media
Little Dick Finger didn’t see any of this happen & he was like
Tumblr media
Little Dick Finger tried to plead his case but nah, bruh. Arya cut his throat, he dead now & he won’t be missed.
The 3rd Eyed Petty
I can’t stand Bran now. He just a messy bitch who lives for the drama. Him & his fox fur just sitting at the fucking tree, eyes on frosty the snowman white until it’s time to start some shit. Bitch, I can’t.
Tumblr media
He hella dramatic. He was reading all of Little Dick Finger’s past crime confessions with his third eye.
Bruh & when he revealed that Jon & Dany really aunt & nephew during boat sex. I couldn’t fully enjoy the sex(like I wanted to) because Bran want to give monologue during the scene. Showing secret weddings & shit.
Tumblr media
The only fuck I would be willing to give is the fuck on the boat that you are ruining but telling this long ass story.
A facially challenged white haired man married a woman in secret under a tree with daffodils flowing in the wind. The End.
Bran...
Tumblr media
He long winded than a motherfucker. Bran, we don’t go time.
Scenes from The Walking Dead
So my babies Jon Snowdaddy & Tormund(Tori) team up with Jorah, The Hound, Eye Patch kill me six times wake me up seven guy, Robert B’s bastard with the Justin Timberlake on Punk’d haircut, & about 5 extras so when someone dies, we don’t lose anyone important(I don’t know their names, sue me) to go get a snow winter is coming zombie to bring back to King’s Landing as proof that all the folks on the side of the living need to team up so they can remain alive. It was a dumb ass idea to go zombie hunting but here they are, walking, freezing...
Tumblr media
I’m trying not to be bored with this but I am cause I know that two of my babies & two people I’m very found of, are walking into danger. I’m shivering, shook with…
Tumblr media
So out of nowhere a dead bear come & start attacking folks to wake them up because they was having too much fun talking & walking in the snow & whatnot.
From there shit went really bad. They fight, get a snow zombie & for the blink of an eye, you think they about to go home but nah fam. It wouldn’t be a scene with Jon in it unless he had to become Ms. Sophia in the Color Purple...
Tumblr media
There is hundreds of snow zombies walking towards them. Jon sends Robert B’s bastard with the Justin Timberlake on Punk’d haircut back to send a raven to Daenerys.
The others run towards the snow zombies and start fighting. As they are running, they hit some weak ass ice that starts to crack. What is a scene in the snow without some weak ass river ice to break?
Tumblr media
The team stood for a moment & then was like fuck it & ran across the weak river ice. They make it to the some mini snow covered version of pride rock. The snow zombies have cracked the weak river ice & are now falling in the water.
Robert B’s bastard with the Justin Timberlake on Punk’d haircut ran his ass off. Boy just running for like 3 days in the snow & he makes it back to the gate like…
Tumblr media
When we get back to Jon, Tori, & ‘em, The Hound(dumb ass) picks up a rock & throws it across the river. The rock hits one of the snow zombies & knocks its jawline clean off. The Hound(dumb ass) then picks up another rock & throws it. This time he misses & it hits the ice. The ice didn’t break so now the snow zombies know that they can walk across the weak river ice & get to my guys.
Me @ The Hound...
Tumblr media
Bitch, I like you but you are so ignorant. You just had to throw a rock like you fucking 8 years old. Chill your Freddy Krueger looking head ass down, boy. This is not how we do it in-the-north.
Tumblr media
The snow zombies run up. Jon & the guys were surrounded but they fight.
Girl, tell me why they tried to play my baby Tori? Why they come for his life? He almost got taken out twice. A bunch of snow zombies jumped on him, some tried to pull his ass into the fucking water.
Actual footage of me when the snow zombies thought they was going to take my Tori...
Tumblr media
Jon shell shocked, everything is happening in slow motion, & in short…THEY ABOUT TO DIE.
But who comes in one second before it’s too late?
Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons….
Tumblr media
Daenerys know how to make an entrance...
Tumblr media
Daenerys comes in with her three dragons, they setting shit on fire. Burning the dead, saving the day & whatnot. Just doing a days work. The guys hope on a dragon with Dany, well all except Jon Snow.
Actual footage of me watching Dany save the day but Jon trying to be the extra ass hero...
Tumblr media
Jonathan Aegon Targaryen Snow Stark, MOTHERFUCKER WHAT THE FUCK? Like bitch, get on the dragon & fly away. Have you learned nothing from Mufasa during the your Lion King style trampling in the battle of the bastards?
Me @ Mufasa...
Tumblr media
Mufasa @ Jon Snow...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
While Jon is slaying snow zombies, Dany trying to wait for her bae. The dark night ice king of the dead thing is watching from up the hill as always. This motherfucker never put no real work in
Tumblr media
The dark night ice king of the dead thing of the dead grabs a big ass icicle & threw that shit like he was in the Olympics for Iceland or some shit.
Tumblr media
And....
youtube
The dragon of course dies. Dany is shell shocked. Jon tells the others to go before they lose another dragon. Dany reluctantly tells Drogon to go & she looking back at her bae Jon Snowdaddy the whole time. The dark night ice king of the dead thing throws another icicle but Drogon a whole G & learned how to bob & weave so he dipped out of that shit.
Tumblr media
The celebration is short lived though because somehow, the ice breaks & Jon is taken to the white version of the sunken place.
Tumblr media
The next time we see Jon, he somehow pulled himself up out of the water.
Jon Snow: “The devil thought he had me. Oh but I ruuuunnnn....”
youtube
Jon dragging himself up out of the water & more snow zombies come.
Tumblr media
They are about to get him with out of the middle of the dead comes night shadow head ass uncle Benjen. Don’t get me wrong, I like uncle Benjen. I’m here for uncle Benjen saving Jon but...
Tumblr media
Uncle Benjen spirit of Christmas past head ass always pop up in the middle of the dark, looking sickly/dead, saving the Stark children like a figment of hopeful imagination. Is the bitch real or not? How he know when to show up? Is his Stark kids in danger sense tingling?
When it comes to uncle Benjen, #IAmWhitney...
Tumblr media
Uncle Benjen old Rasputin from Anastasia head ass confuse the fuck out of me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at the nose, Maury. They got the same dead skin. They are the same person.
Just around the icy riverbend, the dark night ice king of the dead thing has his snow zombies pull the dead dragon out of the icy water & then he wakes the damn dragon up from the dead...
Tumblr media
Bitch, I can’t. So on top of having an army of dead folks that include 3 dead giants, we got a dead dragon too.
Tumblr media
Cersei was waiting for them at the door with her party city wig
Jon, Tyrion, The Hound, Missandei, Grey Worm, & dragon lady late Dany comes to King’s Landing with their army & dragons & a snow zombie to meet with the Lannisters to talk about how we gone come together and fight against the walking dead.
It’s a whole family reunion in that place. I didn’t know the big dude who guards Cersei was The Hound’s brother. He an evil bitch. I can’t wait for Drogon to light that ass up.
Tyrion ain’t been back in the city since he escaped execution & killed his father. Cersei hates him & is “Queen” now.
Cersei is Cersei. A snake ass bitch through & through. She ain’t shit & she ain’t never gone be shit. Her & that damn party city wig. She forever entitled & bitter. She hate Dany. She don’t want to help anyone. She thinks she knows it all, bitch you don’t.
Actual footage of Cersei seeing Dany for the first time, wig & all sitting…
Tumblr media
If you say Cersei wig ain’t the dirty blonde short cut party city version of the hair in the above gif, you a lying as motherfucker.
Cersei asked Jon not to pick sides in the future battle between herself & Dany for the throne. Jon was like, I can’t make no promises because Dany got my heart & your wig bad…well not in those words but Jon basically was riding with his boo, Dany.
Cersei being the bitter, stale, crunchy wig wearing bitch that she is, then tells them that her army can’t help.
Tumblr media
Me @  Cersei:
Tumblr media
I just want to talk to her…
Tumblr media
Tyrion–have I mentioned how much I love Tyrion?–Tyrion decides to go talk to his sister because Jon claiming Dany at the function may have fucked everything up & all that snow zombie hunting could have been for nothing if they don’t have the help of all the living.
I honestly don’t remember what was said because that wig is distracting & I don’t like Cersei but Tyrion got her to come out & she offered to help against the snow zombies.
My people get going on their way & once Cersei is alone with Jaime, she admits that she was lying & that her army won’t be helping. She is going to let the dead kill all her enemies.
Tumblr media
Me @ Cersei...
Tumblr media
Jaime, like nah, bitch. You gave your word, we have to fight. Cersei talking about no one walks away from her & almost tries to get the big guard dude to kill her brotherlover.
Actual footage of Jaime when Cersei said he couldn’t leave & no one walks away from her...
Tumblr media
Jaime asks is she really going to give the order & if she is, she better do it because he is going to go help.
Jaime @ Cersei & the big guard dude…
Tumblr media
Jaime @ the big guard dude as he was walking out...
Tumblr media
I feel like the whole meeting at King’s Landing was some bullshit. Cersei can’t take her own head out of her ass & she keep getting in everybody way. I just want her to die already. I hope she birth a puff of smoke. She need not bring nothing else into this world. We got enough demons.
“We sail together” a tale of a ship called Jonerys
Let me start this off by saying that I never read the GoT books. I don’t know if in the books Jon & Dany were a thing but bitch, from the moment these two entered into each others world, it was like...
Tumblr media
I don’t know if it was because these two were my favorite characters from the beginning but I was excited when the finally met.
The sexual tension was there. The whole bend the knee foreplay. Jon being scared of his ugly ass stepdragonchildren. It was like these two people belonged together. I loved how they are a team.
And then there was boat sex. I have mixed feelings one the whole situation. The 3rd Eye Petty Bran kinda ruined it for me with that ugly dry ass wedding. Like y’all could have told me that information after they fucked. Not over top of it. Way to be a mood killer to find out they are aunt & nephew while they fucking.
It also felt rushed. Yes the sexual tension was there & you can see it but to just have him knock on the door & then next thing you know, they all both but ass naked over family tree history.
Speaking of family tree history, why Lyanna Stark so damn petty? How she gone name her son Aegon Targaryen when the man she was married to ALREADY had a son named Aegon Targaryen from his first marriage? Was the Aegon Targaryen dead when Lyanna was pregnant with/having Jon? Help me understand. Cause there is no reason for this type childish. Like you got the man & title, you gone try to replace the man kid by naming your son after his older brother?
Lyanna Stark bleeding out on her death bed after telling her brother Ned that her son’s name is  Aegon Targaryen....
Tumblr media
Things I loved about boat sex: Jon licking Dany & Jon’s ass.
*in Yogurt’s voice* YOU KNOW EVERYTHING, JON SNOW!
My man knows what to do with that tongue. When he licked her, that shit was hot as fuck. It was beautiful. It was like he was licking me.
And then that ass...
Tumblr media
It’s so perfect. Buns for days. I don’t know what Kit workout routine looking like but he need to leak that shit. I have never seen an ass like that. The muscle, crafted from God’s hands. He got one of those little football booties. Is it squats? Cornbread? collard greens? What got that ass sitting fat like that? I’m asking for a friend.

Do you still of Sansa as a Stark?
I like Sansa in the novels. I strongly dislike that creature on the show that’s being referred to as Sansa Stark.
I’ll give a full explanation on my opinions on the character and standom below the cut, mostly bc this is something I’ve been thinking about lately.
When I first started watching the show, she was one of my first favorites with Dany and Cersei. I liked how different she was from the usual young period drama heroine. She was so much more realistic.
Usually, with period dramas, you have a teenage girl whose basically a modern girl with modern opinions who somehow time traveled a century or three into the past. You know the anachronistic characters I’m referring to. The ones who are shocked to find out that their marriage will be ... wait for it ... arranged. They can’t believe that they, a teenager, won’t have any say in such a huge political decision. It never crossed their minds that this cultural norm would ever apply to them. They usually have several other anachronistic opinions and behaviors as well.
This wasn’t so with Sansa. She seemed like a realistic young girl who was a product of her culture. She had flaws and opinions that modern readers wouldn’t agree with, but that made sense given the type of world she was raised in. When I finally got around to reading the novels after watching S2, I found an even better version of the character. I loved that she enamored with songs and stories and applied the ideals she found in them to her own life. I liked that she had even more views that made sense given her culture and upbringing that readers weren’t meant to agree with but that helped fully make Sansa a beautifully complicated and fully fleshed out character. Even now, when I read this character’s chapters, I really enjoy her and her POV.
The problem I have isn’t with the character of Sansa, it is with the standom.
Back in the day, since I liked Sansa a lot, I followed a lot of Sansa fans and read a lot of Sansa fic. If I could go back in time, I would advise myself not to go near any of those individuals. If I hadn’t I wouldn’t have so much disdain for the character that I do.
What I’m about to say isn’t going to apply to all of them, but it does apply to a good number of them. Now, while I enjoyed the complicated and flawed character that George R. R. Martin created, a number of my fellow fans did not. The character they liked had no flaws, only virtues, she had no impact on the plot yet was the most important character in the series, she was the most beautiful, brilliant character to ever exist, and she had never, ever don anything even remotely wrong in her entire life. In short, these stans had taken an exceptionally well-developed character, stripped her of all complexity, and turned her into their own personal self-insert who would rule the world with her non-canonical political savvy and her non-canonial pure heart.
What was worse, was the sexism and vitriol that was flung at any fictional character or, worse, any real person who didn’t treat Sansa with complete deference. This is still true. Anyone who sees a flaw in Sansa is called a Sansa hater and is accused of sexism (which is laughable given the inherent sexism in that standom, but I’ll get to that later). Seriously, just a few days ago, I pointed out that canon doesn’t support the idea that Sansa currently loves Arya. I stand by that. Canon does not support that. If anything, it supports the idea that she does not love her sister, which is fine. Sansa stans interpreted this as: 1. You hate Sansa! 2. You think Sansa’s a bitch! (?) 3. You think Sansa deserved what she got! (????) 4. You’re sexist! (Coming from you guys, that’s compliment ;)).
Now, none of these conclusions that they drew have any connection to what I said or reality all together. But that’s just who they are. If someone doesn’t agree with them, they go bat-shit. And the ones who try to hide their crazy, they let their out and proud friends hurl personal attacks at people. I pointed this out during the last wank and the person backed completely off. She wanted her friend to personally attack me so she could keep her hands clean, but then freaked out when I called her out on supporting someone who attacks others. She thought that as long as she wasn’t the one doing the attacking, then she wouldn’t be implicated. She was wrong. That’s just how they roll, though. Sansa stans completely supported the crazed individual who stalked and harassed several people at once (and who’s probably reading this post right now ;)) because her behavior benefited them while allowing them to keep their hands clean of the worst of the horrific behavior. Quit like Littlefinger, if you think about it.
Now for the sexism. Oh, this standom is sexist as hell. They actively support the patriarchy and patriarchal ideals on what a woman should be. When they use the term “femininity” what they mean is “femininity as defined by men.” They treat this as the only right way to be a woman. If other characters don’t fit the patriarchal ideal, like Septa Mordane, they belittle them as stupid and manly. For some reason, they have also decided that these types of characters are misogynistic and being a fan of those characters will make a real person a misogynist. They completely ignore their own misogyny as well as Sansa’s internalized misogyny and her support of the patriarchy. What makes it even more amusing is that they will complain about sexism in the fandom. They aren’t always wrong about the sexism. But really, they should be cleaning up their own lawn before whining about the dude bros on youtube or making false accusations just because it’s easy to do so.
So, in conclusion, it’s the fandom that made me dislike Sansa because 1. They stripped her of her complexity so that she could be their self-insert, 2. They attack anyone who doesn’t agree with their one-dimensional version of Sansa, 3. Many of them are sexist as all hell.
When I re-read or relisten to the novels, I enjoy her again.
