On one hand I wanna be lenient since I agree that Mira's whole Thing is portrayed unfairly from a mental health standpoint so she should get to not be a boiled down to being a monster in the end, suddenly being "fixed" like canon treats it isn't a great look either but can be done better in a way that she's trying to make up for her wrongs and genuinely choosing to turn herself in while still being the same neurotype....... but then another part of me wants to know why if Ace and Dio and fuck even Saito 'not a zero escape character' Sejima get to be completely unrepentant assholes why should the Woman serial killer be any nicer and come around at all she didn't even go through all the horrors in ztd to get character growth from that q-team only remembers the timeline with no executions to begin with

I went back and forth a little on posting something like this, but at the end of the day I think it’s important to say none the less:

Plagiarism is never cool or okay. If you find old fics that you think are maybe not “relevant” anymore and take lines/whole concepts from them, that’s literally plagiarism, people.

I understand that we as a community write sickfics, and that there is only so much you can do with a sickfic. The character is sick. They get taken care of. They get better. There’s not much else you can write about in these scenarios.

But that being said, if an author of an older fic can literally handpick their lines from your fic…that’s an issue. A big issue.

This community is not as active as it once was, and there are a lot of new faces around, but I think this is worth saying to the newbies and oldies alike. It’s something I’ve caught onto recently during my ever-present lurkdom, and I’ve had enough. I’m tired lol.

Let’s just be respectful, okay? Everyone here is creative. You’re here writing content because you’re creative. You don’t need to use another writer’s work.

end of blue morpho arc really was so peak . vbros always peaks when it comes back to its central element of all the dead things coming back and haunting the narrative (dead clone boys (TFTSTST specifically (also assisted suicide(+ a lot of s4 and s5 but imo not as strong)) JVS + blue morpho in the s7 premier, JVS living through his legacy to haunt Rusty the entire show, etc.) ANYWAY. s7 3 ep premiere special i miss what you could have been, it's crazy to me they have a whole thing w Rusty's dad being alive -> his dad being his greatest inspiration & greatest fear, root of trauma etc & then this goes nowhere . Monarch finds his dad again -> immediately ends up killing him & GOES NOWHERE. esp considering like. the way Dr Mrs looks at him when she realizes what he's done, there's something about JVS selfishly doing everything to save his own ass/bring himself back even at the cost of his best friend + his own kid (also really interesting how he just dismissively talks to Billy & theres no followup ik hes already kind of lost some luster for his childhood heroes since he's now living w 2 of them, has talked to Rusty for years + is aware of his baggage but still, Billy is largely dismissive of Rusty so i am disappointed this isnt even a background detail down the line) but anyway JVS willing to use anyone and anyone to help himself, always a guy living for his own pleasure and ego -> uses his good friends son to open a weak spot in him so he can kill him + take over his body, vs blue morpho who is obviously devoted to his son, loves him -> cant even focus on saving himself bc its his Malcolm etc etc . the way blue morpho saves Monarch through his death (gets him out of trouble, takes the fall/blame) even if unintentional, WHICH would have been a great bridge into dr. mrs' own emotional dilemma -> im mad at my husband bc he nearly got himself killed & i would have had to handle it, he lied to me he betrayed me -> how can i be mad rn bc his dad just died in front of him but im still (rightfully) angry but i shouldnt be his dad just died etc . but nothing w that ever, nothing w rusty learning his 'uncles' lied to him since his dad's "death" not even any real emotional baggage following the fact that he just talked to his dad again + he still didnt get a proper goodbye/sendoff, didnt get to get it all of his chest (20 years to midnight) + even brock "your whole foundation is a lie, pyramid wars was a lie" OSI is such a bs lore point at that point its whatever but its still like. man give brock something please ik you think he has no emotional depth but cmon. anyway

yesterday while i was waiting in line in the food bank i was listening to music and remembered this video, i used to listen to this a bunch a few years ago, now this does seem a little silly to admit but i actually did not know about paradise lost until recently, (my mom is very religious so im sure this is something she wouldnt have let me read lol) but!!! i got so happy remembering the title screen and realizing that this video references(?) paradise lost!!! i remembered always wondering why they picked that name as a title screen for the animation, its so nice to revisit this video now <3 !!

So finally watched the last episode of Strange New Worlds

Not sure how I feel about this new Jim Kirk (honestly cant get over the fact that the actor is from The Vampire Diaries), he seems fine?? Kinda surprised that in the scene where Sam talks to Pike about his brother he didn't bring up the Kobayashi Maru. It was cute when Jim and Sam hugged. Also was his dad serving on the Kelvin canon pre AOS and was I supposed to know that. 

I would have liked to be able to see the updated Romulan uniforms, they looked really cool but the ship was so dark!!! literally could not see them. The lighting was just super weird the whole episode, I get that they were trying to recreate the TOS vibe but it only worked like half the time. Kinda sad they got rid of that older Romulan guy who was like the commander’s buddy or whatever

This is super nit-picky but like why did they give La’an that terrible hair style like her braids were cool and i dont understand why everyone has such flat boring hair (like literally all the woman characters who have long hair and wear it down have the same style and i hate it) 

Also why was there no chairs at that wedding, they had chairs in the original episode so you just have to stand at weddings now?

Finally they couldn't have had a Bones cameo????? He could have just been the CMO of the ship that Jim was commanding, we had a Scotty cameo but no Bones?? :(((( Give me Bones!!! (also like wheres Sulu in this au?)
